I'm currently working on a map for 3-60 trains (yes, I like 'em "realistic", that thing, tested it works on another map, accelerates more sluggishly, like a real train). But: in order to have the room between ores, I though I'd make RSO's region bigger. Now, having set the region to 50 (from 7), I'm still searching for ores. I'm already all out of iron in the starting area. Hope I find iron before I run out of radars :D

I have multiple mines and the train only visits the ones with the enough most ore in it's chests. So when the mine is not producing fast enough, the train goes to farther mines to fill up.
That's inspiring mate, A huge factory with so much put into the planning and organizing, do you have any play-through's? if so i'd love to see how you get from scratch to this kind of set up without mods.

Are the stations at the mining site just timed and if so are the karts actually filling up? And it loads onto another train... this is epic AF!!! Great work!
They are set to 2 seconds of inactivity. The station only opens when there is enough items in the chests to completely fill the train, or else the system would break down.
@@michaellundgren6949 the air conditions where you could set the train to move on when it has a certain number of items. Knowing exactly how much each car takes at each station you could set it so that the train moves on to the next station when it reaches a certain amount. Because those conditions are train-stop specific (that is set in the train schedule not in the station circuitry) they can be different for each station.
Meanwhile me, unable to get a train to correctly travel between two stations with fuel, batteries, plastic and lube without using a gimmicky "or 30 seconds"
Who needs signals when you can have just one trains :D

Long trains are very real. As I count the wagons, I encounter a locomotive pulling 30-40, sometimes 50 wagons.
Out where I live I regularly see 150 wagon long trains

it's better to smelt the ore first, since ore stacks have a lower maximum than plate stacks. Just a suggestion.

why not double track the thing and put a couple of 4-16 trains on it, or maybe even 8-32 ones if you're feeling extra spicy
and here I am debating whether to use 3 or 4 cars on my trains, and then considering using only 2 cars but then have an extra train for each route.

I'm running it on nuclear fuel. It lasts a long time and it gets resupplied automatically.
