The Madman and the Cathedral is a documentary about one mans dream to build a cathedral.
In 1963, Don Justo Gallego Martinez laid the foundation stone of a cathedral. A peasant, with no architectural training, no construction experience and no tools, he turned his back on the fields and started building. He had no blueprints and no planning permission. He had not even seen many cathedrals. All he had was the unshakeable conviction that God wanted him to build a cathedral.

I was there yesterday and it's absolutely awesome.
It touches. His chatedral transmits what a lot of churches with great budget and luxury would like to do.
Humble, Hard-worker and tenacious, he's a example of fight and effort.
My respects (and my little modest help to finish his work. At least a small group of people is helping him with their job, once he's already 89).

People are more comfortable when everyone fits into the circle but not everyone is round. Sometimes there's one very different soul with many facets and it's the odd man out. It was his money and he chose what he wanted to do with it. He followed his heart. Good for him.

Man - I wish I went to see this when I was in spain. Would have much rather seen this cathedral than the Sagrada familia had I known about it.

The feat is remarkable for one man, but I have my concerns. I think Justo puts more emphasis on construction of a physical building, than sharing the love of Jesus Christ with the people that come to see him, as could be seen in his actions (i.e. yelling and chasing people out). This problem plagues Christianity systemically. I understand this man's sincerity though.
Ask Jesus to reveal Himself to you, so you can know Him directly! Jesus calls us into a relationship, not a religion!

@sangwria ...and science is not a 'weapon' that can disprove God. Science describes, but doesn't explain. Explanations derived from science are (mostly) speculations. In fact, a universe created by a loving, inventive logical, orderly God is what makes science possible; which is why the whole scientific activity until the early-mid 19th century was carried out by bible-believing Christians, who believed that God made the universe logically explorable.

He would have user his efforts better for a family, a business that provides real needs of his fellow people.

However nothing takes away the monument that he has created.

@sangwria You can take naturalism as a 'hypothesis', or (the biblical) God as a hypothesis. As such, evidence and logic from all aspects (science, philosophy, ethics, metaphysics etc) greatly favours the God hypothesis (Edgar Andrews). Anecdotal evidence greatly favours the God hypothesis. Personal experience greatly favours the God hypothesis. I recommend you attempt speaking honestly to God (either as Yahweh or Jesus the Christ), ask Him to reveal Himself to you in a personal way. He will.
