You need to keep the silver player anonymous, then have the other players guess who the silver was at the end. Also lifts some pressure off the actual silver player because not all the eyes are on him.
The silver got a great aim and a decent game sense. He just needs to be more consistent and i believe he can peak diamond with his potential. I was SPEED Exalt and i was on the silver’s team. Thanks for the opportunity to let me play in this event. I hope your channel will grow bigger, Eggwick ;).

And here I am played 500+ comp games E6 act 1 and yet Bronze 2... Lost 276 Games, Won 284 😅I perform everytime but the team I get here never let's me go ahead.! Yeah I deserve silver but no plat or gold

Honestly this shows how useful high elo comms are, coordination is very important and he can really shine with info, silver players just don’t talk man
I think something that helped him play in a lobby is trust. Knowing that DIAMONDS are watching your back or holding angles for you gives more ideas. update: diamond 3 now, i was silver when i made the comment. yeah diamonds r pretty much glorified silvers lol
honestly it goes to show that teammates actually matter for example when i play low plat/high gold people get on site and dont watch any spots just run around(or rush) and die eventually same goes for def where they dont fight give out the site where you would then have to play for retake but the best part is that they leave the site open and when the team is still not there they go in again like? 1vs4/5 why? and it happens almost every round or giving out first blood every round in the same spot cause of ego not to mention in this elo every second game there is an afk/leaver even more so goes to show since ppl play in 3ppl and climb ranks but then when they play solo q they get stomped half the time
in low elo you cant play expecting your team to play correctly, so you have to play for yourself. people wont trade kills and they dont give any info. you just need to play for yourself, which is bad if your goal is to improve at the game and not simply to get to the next rank. if you play to your elo, you get to the next one and you struggle because you pick up a lot of bad habits that are then hard to drop. the kay/o was able to perform because he played with the team and he seemed to have a good general understanding of the game, for sure better than silver or even gold players

I have him in my friends list (he's my younger brother's batchmate IRL), he's been bouncing between dia3 and immo1 in terms of rank. He's a solid player already, just a bit more consistency and he'll be retaining immortal without problems
We are silver hardstucks: -we have decent aim -we have decent game sense -but we zone out a lot -get killed while looking at the map -watch the same spot every round hoping to make some clips -focus to much on one angle while exposed to others -ego peak too much if we get tilted in a game -think we are good at one agent if we frag out of one lucky game -we know what mistakes we do, but forget to implement/correct them on the spot
no bro he didnt he is just low sensitivity player and when he wants to move to the left he have to move his mouse a lot and move it up to move another time
I didn't expect Dustin to be the silver in this video and I can say from personal experience, being one of his friends and being in a stack with a friend group, he's pretty consistent and I believe he should be in a higher rank. I believe the only reason he can't rank up is because his teammates from said stack, which also include me because I know I suck and our stack drags him down. Not to say our stack is crappy it's just he preforms better than us. His comms, mechanical skill and game sense surpass his elo, so I do hope him the best at ranking up Edit: dstn has now gotten above silver
Don't play 5 man. Playing 5 man is broken. You can expect smurfs. Even at silv, players are bringing smurfs during 5 man plays. Duo or trio is your best bet.
He was very impressive for his rank, for sure. I think he was making too many mistakes for diamond, but I wouldn't be surprised if he gets it soon. His aim is good and he knows how to play off of his team and utilities, but consistency and I think agent experience might be a downside. I'm thinking low to mid platinum might be a better placement. Still, he didn't really hold his team back and that's worth a lot.
He did bot frag on the last game, but he was making an impact on the game. He had 10 assists, which either means he was helping his team with util or getting good damage off
@@fahim2797 good smokes.... have you seen the last one? if he focused a little more and jumped a little less, Very noisy...the bad thing is that the communications you have are not heard, another important point,
This is how Riot games ranking works. It is almost purely off your win rate. So yes, you can get a bad rank if you get bad teammates. Immortal doesn't necessarily mean you are better than Iron. But being immortal, you are likely MUCH better than Iron and will carry the team to win. In this scenario, you see a Silver player capable of supporting and fragging like a Diamond. BUT, in a silver game, he would not be able to support as well for lower-tier players that can't keep up, and he would not carry hard enough. So, yes, he is silver. The difference between Iron through platinum, though, is not too different. It is Diamond and above where EXACT cursor placement, reaction time, and, more importantly, game knowledge is a huge determining factor.
@@codymyers4301 You say Iron and plat is kind of the same? i think you need to play more games, lol, stop talking out of your ass please! you literally have no idea what you are talking about, lmao
Start learning callouts...and using your mic in game. You'll be surprised how all humans have relatively similar reaction times...regardless of Radiant or Iron...and most of it just has to deal with 1 team playing in the "dark"....while the other team has callouts and is playing with "wall hacks"... And if you're serious about climbing...stop duoing with people that don't want to climb. Only play spike rush/escalation with them. Soon you'll climb too many levels and the game won't let you duo with him anyways...so might as well just help yourself get there sooner... The main difference between Silver lobby and Diamond lobby and the SEN/Optic/pro team....is the comms. Silver barely has comms...diamond has comms sometimes...and a pro team doesn't stop comming...and pro teams will have very efficient language/system of callouts/priorities...Its all in the communication/brain above silver...since most people know crosshair placement by the time they get to Silver.
@@DJUwU as an immo cypher main that sometimes plays with my hardstuck silver friends let me tell ya that the difference is actually huge in my eye as someone experienced but it is little things and I agree comms are very important ever since I remember I was always comming a lot and trying to help out with out backseating but actually thinking about how you play and what to do not just cause u feel like it is important, recommended dropping by hikos stream he likes explaining his way of thinking, a simple example would be you want to play a close angle on defense on a pistol now the enemy has a Skye and raze, if u think you'll know that unless enemies make a mistake u are surely dead and won't get any value so you're better of doing another play, just think and take advice from more experienced players, you will regret some of your "takes" later, Fe used to think back in silver that cypher cages were basically a useless ability now I can't stress enough how great they are and how they come in clutch so much

Just gonna reply to this here and hope one of you is high enough level to respond. I started playing valorant like 5 days ago. On first round, (i always play unrated cuz I'm lvl 19 and not high enough to play competitive) pretty much everyone buys, by order of popularity, either A) Ghost B) Sheriff C) shield (i usually go for shield and save my 400 left over). However in this video egg says that he's never seen that before. To me, that's just logical. Every top Fragger in all my lobbies does that. Idk its just second nature to me and it made me question alot. Anyone know why it's bad to get ghost first?
@@nathan9901 I hope my immortal brain can give u a good general answer and hopefully not too late. Its not always bad to buy a ghost on pistol rounds. I would say it mostly depends on what agent ur playing and the level of play since its almost always better to buy all of your utility for the team rather than a gun for yourself. But if ur in an iron-silver lobby the team will probably not be able to use all of the utility in a good way anyway so it doesnt really matter what u buy there lol. What eggwick said was weird was that he bought a ghost on an eco round (a round where the team cant afford to buy good weapons and utility) and I would agree since a ghost isn’t gonna be able to do much against the better weapons while a sheriff can one-tap. Hope I answered your question :)
Killua mentioned an issue dstn has in the 3rd game, referring to his 'movement', but I don't think that's really the issue, it's his 'pathing'. It's catching out high-elo players because his position isn't expected, but it's only working because the rest of his team is expected to play 'properly'. It's not necessarily a bad thing, knowing what other people expect and subverting their expectations in surprising ways is a legitimate tactic in high level games. Knowing when and where to apply such tactics is the key factor. Anyway, despite what I was saying, I don't think the silver was doing this deliberately or consciously. If it's not a decision he's actively making, it's a mis-play to hold some of the angles he chooses to hold, and to push up into the places he takes gunfights from. Due to the chaotic nature of silver, nobody is in the right position, so holding extreme off-angles isn't particularly useful. Dstn's gamesense and knowledge of how to entry/clear/retake sites needs a little bit of tightening up (i.e. frantically clearing corners while continuing to run, rather than methodically isolating and checking angles quickly with good counter-strafing,). I wouldn't say dstn deservers diamond yet, but it's not a stretch for him to get there either.
From a pure spectating perspective(I'm not particularly high elo, but I've taught several newer players and I watch coaching vods a lot for fun), some things that stood out are 1. He's a really good shot, definitely more consistent than me... Though sometimes he takes fights he doesn't need to/shouldn't take(several times ascent mid) 2. He uses utility with team pretty well(on Kayo), but his positioning/awareness needs some practice(several times he is going really wide or standing in the open for no reason 6:21, 6:53, 9:36, 12:40, 16:00, 17:27) 3. Stop swapping to knife for no reason - you see high elo players do it but only when they are very confident they won't need to take a gunfight, but dstn seems to quickswap for no reason in the open or in the middle of gunfights. Pulls out utility a lot while in the open, tho some of it is just unlucky timing(9:20, 11:47). Overall for sure plat - utility usage, aim, teamplay for sure, but game sense and spatial awareness just needs some practice against higher level players(a lot of the issues I pointed out I see a lot with lower level players because they don't/can't punish them, so playing consistently with higher elo players will force him to learn and he should be able to get diamond no problem) Edit: added some timestamps
@@fynjaaa.7946 Not necessarily? 6:21 - why he standing out in the open? If the Jett back site didn't wiff on him after killing his teammate, the round could have gone the other way. Why not just play on site where there's cover, or double up on orange? 16:00 - why is he standing in the middle of mid to look at the double doors cross? He was exposed to elbow at a wider angle than nest could hold, so he dies since the elbow chamber makes contact with him before fighting the nest chamber. He gets traded, but if he sat unexposed in tunnel, he has the same angle to double doors but the chamber actually has his elbow. 17:30ish - after getting a kill on site from tunnel boxes, he decides to stay in the same spot. Whether not changing position is necessary or not, I dunno, but he doesn't hug the box, instead going out toward mid again, exposing his back to the same angle he just got a kill from? So he dies So not necessarily wide swinging, but more just sitting out in the open?

I think a lot of hardstuck low ranked players would not only fit in, but pull their own weight in a higher ranked lobby, because they possess certain skills that don't neccecarily help them in the lower ranks, be that from playing other fps games or whatever. It's just hard to get over that roadbump, but when you finally do, your rank skyrockets
Sticking the spike through the sova ult was honestly pretty pog. He was either forced out to an angle a defender could shoot him or he could of stuck the plant amd put pressure on the outnumbered defenders to push in. I liked that play a lot.
His rotates kinda Clueless too. Never have your knife out when you don't know where the ennemies are. If they aren't on the other site it's because they are also rotating so they will catch you with your pants down 100% ! His sens is either WAYYYY too high or he flicks weirdly. When he tries his crosshair placements are good but in action, in chaos, it looks like he gets anxious and looses control of his sens too easily. And lastly his anchors are not the best. It's good that he has aim but if you know your angles you don't need aim. Like on breeze B site he always stays on right main which is the first place the opponent will check, cross-hair ready. Instead he should go further back and jiggle peak or go back site entirely and jump peak to reposition if needed.
20:40 Where you mention predicting lower elo. As a new player coming into silver, what I've noticed it comes down to if your opponents are observant and thinking. It's hard to trick an opponent if they're just playing random and not paying attention to when you dart, nade, place your viper wall etc. You end up outthinking yourself in the end. But in higher elo where they're paying attention to more details about positioning and utility (and have better coms) and are attempting to predict your play is where you can play more mind games.
exactly, when i was in your elo nobody really cares about more strategic ways to use util or how to block the enemy’s util. i’m p1 now not much higher but now people actually care about more common angles to watch, where the dart lands and to break it, and they end up overthinking everything. mind games are easier because of this
@@Dremlo omg gold was a nightmare 😭 not just what i mentioned but the endless smurfs and all the higher ranks always ending up on the other team and all the worse ranks on your team was insufferable

Something he could work on that’ll be a huge help in the long run is isolate angles and make sure you are visible to the fewest angles possible. That is one way he died a lot this game was peaking one angle but doing it wrong to where he was visible to another 2-3 angles and died cause someone was watching the other one
The difference between high rank and low rank is consistency, thats what the ranking system works well for. 100 games and being diamond doesnt mean shit, 1000 games and being diamond does however. You were right about him possibly having a good game and others perhaps not, if you did this with him 10 times you might see him start to fall off and the others outperform him because they are more consistent with their plays and aim across multiple games, which is probably why they are diamond and hes not. Also, you dont know how he reacts and works with other teammates on a regular basis. Clearly he already has the mentality "my teammates always suck and im just better" which is enough to ruin any team play. He cant do that here because they are all diamond and hes not. I think he might be gold or plat because he has issues in areas where your little experiment doesnt cover.
Very true. I just started playing the game. I started in Bronze but I might drop to iron because even though I try my best to be a good teammate I am not good at the game as an individual. Because I am not consistently good I will not climb yet. Right now In trying to figure out what weapons to use when and where and what Agent to play in what comp. I rotate between Brim, Skye, and KJ. Im not a fragger so I havent touched duelist.
Yeah, as a newer player, even I can tell that consistency is important. I am not even to ranked, but like, he should iron out his strengths and weaknesses and possibly warm up before serious ranked games. Like, I think he should also experiment with playstyles. It's good to learn to be good at one thing, but at the same time, it can cost you. I've just started and I've been finding out that people do notice when you're not switching it up every now and again.
As a silver myself honestly I think that a good portion of players have decent aim/gamesense/whatever, but putting it all together at once is where the trouble comes in. Kinda like being smart in school but doing bad during tests or finals
you can usually really on raw aim or game knowledge as you can get away with not one tapping your opponents, or if you are really struggling hire a coach or review your gameplay
Egg is the type of guy who would roast a egoistic person about their ranks and gameplay on regular basis, but this vid is so different from his usual doings, that it is fun and lovely to watch
This was another really fun video and set of games to be apart of. Thank you so much for the invite. Thank you for being an amazing creator Mr Eggwick and I look forward to seeing more amazing content
I think one of the main things I saw from this is that he needs to not use his util out in the open as much and understand that if he plays the same angles/peeks everytime it won’t always work the other team (if they’re good enough) will adapt. But ofher than that he impressed me a lot it was really cool to watch him actually do more than expected. Good job man 👍🏼
He's probably worse in an uncoordinated environment. In a 5-stack with 4 players that mostly know what they're doing, his decent ability use and good aim get to shine, probably quite a bit more than in a regular game. That'd be my guess.
yeah, you can see it in some rounds where he made hella questionable decisions on his own, aim is good, utility looks fine too, but game sense is sometimes still a bit pepega

good teammate is definitely something we cant really gage off this video, he HAS to be friendly in this lobby because everyone knows hes silver and theyre not, so if he starts to ego them they would just flame the fuck outta him, but in a silver lobby hes probably way more confident and likely talks down on everyone ruining morale, based on his "my teammates are ass" comment, its also alot easier than you think to blend in to a higher rank lobby if ur the only one at a lower rank because you can just take a backseat and play off teammates, youll notice it in these vids cause when theres only 1 player out of rank he usually will do pretty well but when they do those 5 silvers who think they deserve plat (which is also easier than diamond so by logic theyd do better) vs 5 actual plats, they get steam rolled
He should be working on basics instead of teamplay and stuff. His utility usage is great, just sometimes he doesn't know what to do with those and that is perfectly normal for the rank where he is. He is really bad at positioning and he is doing lot of unnecessary stuff like quick switching, swinging like prod instead of regular clearing, having his knife out for too long, don't know where to walk and such. He is solid high gold, but that's it from me.

@@sarimsalman2698 You're right, it's a vague concept, an umbrella term that's thrown around too often, but simply put, it's an understanding of the game which helps form the player's prediction of enemy strategy and then his own decision-making and play. 2 examples I found from skimming the video 11:49 He's running knife out, through mid nest. Gamesense is understanding that the area is not clear, and he should have weapon at the ready 42:48 his reyna dies in mid grass, he knows there's at least 2, but he walk swings garage door Gamesense would be recognizing that "that's a dumb play, let's not do that"

i pretty sure he doesnt deserve silver but also he doesnt deserve diamond too, maybe he deserves gold 2 - 3 For Dustin if you're reading the comments: - you need to stop peeking with abilities in your hands - you need to be more aware of your team's positions - stop pulling your knife in areas you don't have control of - stop using your abilities without taking advantage out of it, its not about using abilities its about using effective abilities and building an edge out of it - stop crouching before shooting and use the scope less so you can strafe quicker between bursts - stop mixing the W key with the A and D while peeking - use the slicing the pie peeking technique in areas where its common for enemy to hold and track corners in areas of potential off angles, and get used to stutter movement
Storytime, i used to say it was my teammates fault in silver so i desided to play with a imortal friend and we still lost. After that he told me,”play reyna like your going to get a ace every round. The next game i made 27 kill in 14 rounds, we won 13-1. So tbh with you, some teamates are trash but if you give positive vibes and hypes them they are also gonna play a lot better. Edit: im now in gold 3 on my way to plat
I've been playing ranked games for about a decade now, from being Diamond in Overwatch, to being grand champ in rocket league, to my current grind in Valorant. I'm only silver, but this mindset has transcended entire games. I seen it in Overwatch, I seen it in Rocket League, I seen it in League of Legends and what people don't understand is - having 1 good solid great game where you're the person carrying the team, doesn't mean that you don't belong in that rank. I've dropped 40 bombs in Silver, and I've held my own against mid-golds, however that does not make me a mid-gold player. Your team is not holding you back, you are a part of the team, and if you feel that your team is holding you back, then you need to speak up, and bring your team up. It's a team game, you win as a team and you lose as a team. Just because you're dropping a 40 bomb, doesn't mean that the bottom-frag duelist is the reason you are not ranking up.
I mean aims pretty good tbh, early on when he's playing with the team he seems ok, when he's doing his own thing he looks lost, he stands in the open a lot, he makes a lot of noise, he takes fights when he should hang back, there is a lot of game sense stuff he's not going very well and his utility he just seems to throw whenever he has it.
being silver myself i'm noticing a few things. dstn's really bad at checking corners and his flashes are often kinda useless. i think the big thing that keeps people in silver is the fact that we all get pretty good at one or two aspects of the game but ultimately can't bring our other skills up to match them. for example, i have pretty good aim and use guardian only but a lot of the time i don't check corners, don't check the map, or sometimes just make plain bad decisions.
True...honestly by the time people reach Gold/Plat - they have the knowledge about what they need to do...we just lack the ego/patience/practice to do everything right consistently. The only time when you're making huge game changing discoveries on the way you approach the game...is back in Iron-Bronze. Silver~Plat knows how to do correct things but can't do it consistently at all yet and still may be learning the last little bit of mechanics left in the game....and then Radiant is you actually do everything perfect consistently and pushing the mechanics to the extreme... Honestly...I find being in high gold to be the most fun. Below Silver...people are clueless...and above Plat 2...there's too many people who used to be diamonds/immortals that fell off with the Jett changes and now are trolling every game while being the most toxic people...I'm more of a casual weekend player so Gold is perfect for me. Its just at the point where you need to communicate/play with decent mechanics...but you don't have to take warming up/learning the game seriously...
Agreed, I still refuse to believe he’s silver, and for those who are using his last game as an excuse, last game he didn’t play for top frags, he played well in assisting his team the whole game. The only thing I can say is he has a tendency to expose himself to multiple angles without clearing angles singularly. But his aim and game sense is deffo better than silvers I can say for sure
There's a difference between being able to play in Diamond and being the difference to climb from Silver to Diamond. Like it or not, if you want to climb you NEED to be the difference aka carry. And by carry I don't only mean kda wise, but communication, IGL abilities, strategy etc. By watching this, his mechanics is definitely there, but his awareness of the enemy position and game sense is just lacking overall. He definitely CAN reach Diamond, it's just a matter of how hard he tries to fix his shortcomings.
I climbed in less than a month from gold 1 to diamond 3 and it’s not because of outstanding aim considering my rank or something my tip to everyone climbing is just give comms and communicate even if your team doesn’t say anything or is toxic and get at least one guy to queue with that you feel comfortable and that plays consistently not top fragging in particular.
I was hardstuck silver, now diamond and I can say theres still alot to learn if youre stuck in silver. Eggwick did say he did better than usual and I assume this was the comms and maybe a bit of mid-game coaching
the thing is, you deserve to rank up not because you can play in a lobby with higher elo than yours, you deserve to rank up because you are able to actually make the difference in your lobbies. I'm Gold III, and I can play in higher elo lobbies without being the ass bot frag, however I'm struggling to put it all together in my ranked matchs, hence why I'm not ranking up. Dustin is playing well, but he's overwhelmed of players who plays well, so it's much easier to actually follow what you're team is doing and do simple things to have impact, espacially as a Kay/O. The real challenge for him is to be able to be the one who leads his team in his ranked matches, otherwise he's going to be stuck forever. I think he deserves more than silver to be sure. Playing this well, with his team, consistently and having a heavy impact on the game says a lot by itself. Having said that, the whole jumping, flipping his knife out, then gun, got him killed a few times and is habitual. Not sure he deserves diamond but I feel like he'd improve quickly in Gold and/or Plat and would consistently do well. Diamond might be a stretch.
Honestly, the skill of every player is just so hard to determine by just ranks... Sometimes, getting hardstuck isn't necessarily your fault for not being better. This vid took me back to when I added someone a few months ago after I played with him on a Spike Rush match... We were both at bronze then... Now I'm Silver 2 and he's Immortal 1. Player skill growth is just astounding sometimes
What are you talking about, with a little game sense and crosshair placement your getting to gold easily. I'm fairly new to the game, and after the first 5 comp i immediately got silver 1, spent a few days around s1 b3 and then in one sitting i got to g2 this game is kinda easy, especially with chamber/yoru/breach there op af
@@learningsurvival9216 while the *mechaincs* of game are indeed easy, you have to remember that that statement holds true for other players as well. If the game is easy for everyone, then it is no longer easy, which is why it's easy to climb out of iron and bronze, but harder silver and up. Around mid silver - high gold, the mechanics become easy for everyone, leading to you either having to have extreme talent, reaction time, and mechanics like TenZ and carry yourself to higher ranks, getting lucky with good teammates, or having gamesense 2-3 ranks above your own.
@@Brrrrrrq-q9m that's exactly what i said "you get to gold easily" yes behind that you just need to be good at fps, good reactions aim crosshair placement and such. dustin is actually nuts, tbh. he makes some bad choices in his gameplay but that would be easily remedied with more practice in higher elo. i think he deserves at the very least plat, since that’s where many players begin to develop a really honed game sense. good luck to him in his grind!!
@@cliiiiiq8787 Maybe I wouldn't think he was silver, but I definitely wouldn't think he was diamond. Some of his actions were very questioning for that rank, since even at gold not many people does what he does, what I'm talking about is using his knife out in the open, and some other decisions he made. Been a while since I've watched this but I also assume his aim is not good enough to be diamond.
@@ilovereadingwuxiaxianxiaat8994 His aim is hood enough to be in diamond , as he was outgunning diamond players . His knife was out cause he wanted to be flashy , idk why , but he was still doing decently while having it out every 3 seconds
@@cliiiiiq8787 After rewatching a few parts of the video I can say that yeah his aim is decent enough to be diamond tier, since he wins around half his gun fights in 1v1 duels with no lurks or catching enemies off guard. The only things I got from my binge watch is that his game sense doesn't seem like diamond and some utility usage is questionable. An example would be his repeak in second match at 29:40, I'm almost certain no high elo would do that unless they're throwing on purpose. As for util I'm too lazy to find a timestamp for one, but I'm sure he misused them at some point. Not saying all high elo players will not misuse util, but they probably do it less. But overall yes, if I wasn't told this guy was silver, I'd think he would be at least gold or high plat, definitely not diamond tho. We'd probably get a better picture if the comms were out tbh.
I think what makes him deserve a higher rank than silver isn't necessarily his aim, seeing as I have met many silvers and golds that have pretty solid snappy aim, it is also largely his movement, gamesense, and how he plays in unison/coordinates with his team.
this is what im doing: main brim smoke, winstreak climbing ranks. "it's not all about the kills", "you can go omen smoke and delay for your team to get picks" you just have to choose your battles
I would like to put this out there that I feel is really important. I have been playing since day two of the beta and have never been past silver until last week I got gold 1. Even with almost every game being match/team mvp I wouldn’t ever really climb the ranks (I didn’t grind due to ranked anxiety) there has never been an mmr reset so it would take a lot of grinding to get to even platinum. I recently was very tired of stress when I played this game, so I grinded a new lvl 20 account so I could troll in iron with a judge or whatever. All my placement games were diamond lobbies and I just could never dream of being this elo. When I was playing I had assumed I was in maybe silver or bronze lobbies because I hadn’t really noticed much of a difference from what I’m used to. Long story short the game NEEDS an mmr reset otherwise it just seems impossible for hard stuck people to get out. Additionally there’s not much of a different between ranks from silver to diamond. It seems like u could get a teammate who’s absolute shit or will drop 30 no matter where u are between there
Yeah, I really don't understand mmr. You could be ranked Silver, but have a Plat or Diamond mmr, and you'd be stuck fighting tough enemies and working your butt off just to climb out of Silver??? When in reality, you more than deserve to be out of Silver if you're putting up a fight against Diamonds??? It's so dumb.
@@ethannimmer267 i think mmr system is not bad since the fix is the more u win and with higher score the more u get RR and then u can even skip ranks the bad thing is matching silvers/low gold with plats like why there is soooo many players especially in gold silver(biggest% of player base) and the game cant find u a gold only or silver only lobby? cmon so stupid(the game not you ofc)
Every act is a mmr reset btw. And I was a hard stuck silver 1 before my friends in immortal teach me how to actually play, been playing in unranked diamond immo lobbies with some radiant buddies. Once I decided to push rank my counter part would always be 2 ranks higher than me, every single game would be me the only silver, some plats and the rest is gold, and it stays that way till I'm actually diamond. Barely had a hard time grinding rank till diamond 3 in one episode. Point is, if you really think your ELO and rank should be higher than you are, it wouldn't matter how bad your teammates are because you should be able to carry your lower ELO teammates and beat your lower ELO enemies. They are sometimes straight-up horrendous but if you really think you can climb up, show it up with your skills and consistency instead of keep blaming for bad teammates. There are obviously some games where I lost even though I kill more than 40, but most of the time that is only 1 in 10 games if you're actually performing consistently.
Mad true with the fact that low elo players are harder to predict. I watch a lot of high elo players and I would be playing fps at high level and I’m just so use to smart plays not random ones. So going through the low ranks were tough
The problem is that even though most people who make this claim are just bad players, team-based games are designed so that you can lose because of your teammates. So even if the worst player were to make the claim, they wouldn't be 100% incorrect.
As a former low gold and Silver player, (Now Plat 3 +32elo after the new Rank Update and some nice teammates for once). I can absolutely confirm that this is what you see in Silver. I don't know if the new Update had an effect on the lower Elos, but back when i was down there, you had everything from next upcoming Proplayer to Trackpad player without headset. The biggest problem in Lower ranks (imo) is the Inconsistency of Random mates. You might get Jesus himself as a teammate one Game, and then have him against you 4 times in a row. And with this player, you can see the impact of that randomness, you kind of have to make the weirdest plays and stupidest angels, because that's the stuff that works the best down there. His aim isn't the problem at all, he could most likely out aim me with ease. Its more about the decision making i guess. You just cannot knife-run into Top-mid when there is a B Push taking place. Otherwise, his Crosshair placement is just fine. Just as good or better then mine i guess. He can keep cool in clutch moments, and doesn't overreact too much. (He looks like he's used to Clutch out a round from all i saw here) His Utility is descend, (If he calls his Flashes, that is.) but im not a Kay0 main, so this is hard to say. His Site Control could be better, he doesn't check a lot of common angles which gets him killed more often then you'd like. And sometimes he plays too passive when he is low HP. He could still throw Utill, or jump peek. Maybe even should go for a Trade with his Mates, instead of sitting in a corner. Doing something is usually better then doing nothing, even if it means losing a gun. As long as he makes sure that he can be Traded anyway. But... these are mistakes i make too, all of that isn't really saying anything about how "Good" someone really is. It is nearly Impossible to reduce a Humans Skill down to just a number. You can Support you're team, call some 500iq Starts, outplay the whole enemy team, and still lose the round just because of one Bullet. All of that are things that differentiate normal people from Pro players... if you never do any of those Mistakes, you most likely are in the .1% of the game. I would gladly have him on my team for my Dia1 Uprank Game.
As an Omen main... it does actually show up on scoreboard when your blind gets your teamates kills. You get assists, the same goes for kills through your smokes ;)
One potential problem I saw (I’m iron 3 so I’m probably wrong) he swaps between his gun and knife too much during the middle of the round. Very impressive performance and gunplay by dstn defiantly above silver in my opinion
To be honest, I think the word "consistency" gets thrown out too much when talking about improving at tactical fps (or any competitive game), especially in this comment section. I often hear lower ranks saying things like "my biggest problem is consistency" which I think is similar to saying "my biggest problem is not being able to win". It shouldn't be your focus of improvement, especially if you're in the lower ranks or if you're not on a team/similar 5-stack. It's better to view consistency as a result/product of your decisions and actions, similar to how you view winning. You can't just say things like "I just need to be more consistent" or "I just need to win more" without solving your weaknesses and improving your strengths. Consistency should become a concern when you're playing on a team or 5-stack with a specific role and job to do. If instead, you focus on your fundamentals and weaknesses (aim, peeking, timing, map awareness, utility etc), learning from mistakes will raise your skill floor and give you better consistency overall. More often than not, the biggest inconsistency is the skill level of your opponents, but how you deal with their actions and the decisions you make to adapt is what will make you a better player overall. Dropping 25 kills against a worse team and then dropping 10 kills against another, better team isn't something you solve through "consistency", but rather through experience and adapting. If your aim isn't feeling up to par that day, you're still a player that can make decisions and impact through utility. A better player would figure out how to support the teammate that is already popping off to help win the round.
Higher ranked players are more predictable, because they developed phobia from dying from the random things low elo players are doing (which sometimes work, but a lot of times don’t). So they don’t do them anymore, and that’s why they are higher rank.
Thats a W for the silver guy clearly. This just shows that reaching diamond or equivalent ranks in other games is mostly just grinding. Immortal might be a different breed. Seeing one diamond player in a full silver lobby would be interesting as a side thought.
This video was very interesting and I really liked it but I think there’s a way to improve it. I think if you instead of just spectate the silver, you can make the audience guess who the silver is. Love you eggwick
I think this guy is a good player with a lot of potential, I just think he makes small mistakes like running too much holding knife/utility out while running into unknown territory
Back when i used to play i was hardstuck silver forever, when i finally got to gold. it was basically immediately to plat. people say it's not your team it's you, but it really honestly is the team sometimes.
It would be nice if in the end of the game the diamond player give him some advice on what he's lacking since he clearly good enough to play as a team so why not give him a bit critizism
@@palpendick_ular6131 Some players can play really well at the first half of the game but get mentally tired during the second half, making them play like shit.

honestly it goes to show that teammates actually matter for example when i play low plat/high gold people get on site and dont watch any spots just run around(or rush) and die eventually same goes for def where they dont fight give out the site where you would then have to play for retake but the best part is that they leave the site open and when the team is still not there they go in again like? 1vs4/5 why? and it happens almost every round or giving out first blood every round in the same spot cause of ego not to mention in this elo every second game there is an afk/leaver even more so goes to show since ppl play in 3ppl and climb ranks but then when they play solo q they get stomped half the time
in low elo you cant play expecting your team to play correctly, so you have to play for yourself. people wont trade kills and they dont give any info. you just need to play for yourself, which is bad if your goal is to improve at the game and not simply to get to the next rank. if you play to your elo, you get to the next one and you struggle because you pick up a lot of bad habits that are then hard to drop. the kay/o was able to perform because he played with the team and he seemed to have a good general understanding of the game, for sure better than silver or even gold players

Me watching this realising that the "smurf" I got to play against a few matches ago is actually hardstuck and supposed to be diamond

Hope I answered your question :)

dstn is like my friend he was immortal 2 in the good ol days now hes hard stuck bronze 3
"better than getting no support , be the support" I can feel the pain
From a pure spectating perspective(I'm not particularly high elo, but I've taught several newer players and I watch coaching vods a lot for fun), some things that stood out are
1. He's a really good shot, definitely more consistent than me... Though sometimes he takes fights he doesn't need to/shouldn't take(several times ascent mid)
2. He uses utility with team pretty well(on Kayo), but his positioning/awareness needs some practice(several times he is going really wide or standing in the open for no reason 6:21, 6:53, 9:36, 12:40, 16:00, 17:27)
Overall for sure plat - utility usage, aim, teamplay for sure, but game sense and spatial awareness just needs some practice against higher level players(a lot of the issues I pointed out I see a lot with lower level players because they don't/can't punish them, so playing consistently with higher elo players will force him to learn and he should be able to get diamond no problem)

"going really wide". Do you mean wide swing?
So he dies
So not necessarily wide swinging, but more just sitting out in the open?

Sticking the spike through the sova ult was honestly pretty pog. He was either forced out to an angle a defender could shoot him or he could of stuck the plant amd put pressure on the outnumbered defenders to push in. I liked that play a lot.
It’s his decision making, running with his knife out 24/7 and approaches to situations that make him silver…he just has good aim
Instead he should go further back and jiggle peak or go back site entirely and jump peak to reposition if needed.
probably not that impactful. Its a problem but it isnt like there weren't diamonds that do the same
He jumps alot and takes his knife alot

What he said about low ELO being unpredictable is really true, weird shit happens down here
20:40 Where you mention predicting lower elo. As a new player coming into silver, what I've noticed it comes down to if your opponents are observant and thinking. It's hard to trick an opponent if they're just playing random and not paying attention to when you dart, nade, place your viper wall etc. You end up outthinking yourself in the end. But in higher elo where they're paying attention to more details about positioning and utility (and have better coms) and are attempting to predict your play is where you can play more mind games.
exactly, when i was in your elo nobody really cares about more strategic ways to use util or how to block the enemy’s util. i’m p1 now not much higher but now people actually care about more common angles to watch, where the dart lands and to break it, and they end up overthinking everything. mind games are easier because of this
@@victjsofjsmdngor I peaked d2 and I'm now stuck in gold not because of teammates, but opponents. for this very reason.

Im not a fragger so I havent touched duelist.
why did that "your little experiment" sound angry lol
@@Willy_Warmer It is a little one because its not informative enough to be a big one and there aint enough games or any way to show he's mentality :)
Tho to climb in low elo you have to be selfish and can’t always rely on your teammates for the exact reason you stated

That'd be my guess.
everybody would be worse there. he can compete with diamonds thats clear now.

good teammate is definitely something we cant really gage off this video, he HAS to be friendly in this lobby because everyone knows hes silver and theyre not, so if he starts to ego them they would just flame the fuck outta him, but in a silver lobby hes probably way more confident and likely talks down on everyone ruining morale, based on his "my teammates are ass" comment, its also alot easier than you think to blend in to a higher rank lobby if ur the only one at a lower rank because you can just take a backseat and play off teammates, youll notice it in these vids cause when theres only 1 player out of rank he usually will do pretty well but when they do those 5 silvers who think they deserve plat (which is also easier than diamond so by logic theyd do better) vs 5 actual plats, they get steam rolled
- you need to stop peeking with abilities in your hands
- you need to be more aware of your team's positions
- stop pulling your knife in areas you don't have control of
- stop using your abilities without taking advantage out of it, its not about using abilities its about using effective abilities and building an edge out of it
- stop crouching before shooting and use the scope less so you can strafe quicker between bursts
- stop mixing the W key with the A and D while peeking
- use the slicing the pie peeking technique in areas where its common for enemy to hold and track corners in areas of potential off angles, and get used to stutter movement

Just because you're dropping a 40 bomb, doesn't mean that the bottom-frag duelist is the reason you are not ranking up.

being silver myself i'm noticing a few things. dstn's really bad at checking corners and his flashes are often kinda useless. i think the big thing that keeps people in silver is the fact that we all get pretty good at one or two aspects of the game but ultimately can't bring our other skills up to match them. for example, i have pretty good aim and use guardian only but a lot of the time i don't check corners, don't check the map, or sometimes just make plain bad decisions.

He definitely CAN reach Diamond, it's just a matter of how hard he tries to fix his shortcomings.

the thing is, you deserve to rank up not because you can play in a lobby with higher elo than yours, you deserve to rank up because you are able to actually make the difference in your lobbies.

Killua: you know eggwick on high elo we know respect.
Also killua on the 1st round on breeze: proceed to teabag K.O
Well to be fair, i did tbag him back the next game
+tbags arent really that toxic! We're close friends and laugh abt it
You should’ve made him play two games. One game full of silvers, and the second game in the lobby with diamonds
The problem is that even though most people who make this claim are just bad players, team-based games are designed so that you can lose because of your teammates.
So even if the worst player were to make the claim, they wouldn't be 100% incorrect.
He definetly deserves a higher rank , not diamond but a gold 3 - plat
(He looks like he's used to Clutch out a round from all i saw here)
His Utility is descend, (If he calls his Flashes, that is.) but im not a Kay0 main, so this is hard to say.
I would gladly have him on my team for my Dia1 Uprank Game.
jesus i forgot breeze mid used to look like that
As an Omen main... it does actually show up on scoreboard when your blind gets your teamates kills. You get assists, the same goes for kills through your smokes ;)
love this, finally content that does not screw up ranked games for people
I've looked at his profil and he reached Platin 1 this act. GG's
One potential problem I saw (I’m iron 3 so I’m probably wrong) he swaps between his gun and knife too much during the middle of the round. Very impressive performance and gunplay by dstn defiantly above silver in my opinion
I am iron 3 aswell. It's probably because he wants to get to certain places quicker. Knife gives you more speed.
Lol fr, you got people repeaking ops in silver and gold, walking through Molly’s, and doing dumb shit in general. I’m one of them so I can confirm 😂
the amount he swaps to his knife mid combat is definitely messing him up atleast a little
Thats a W for the silver guy clearly.
You have to remember that solo queue in silver is just facing diamonds…
And Solo Queue in Plat is against 20% diamonds and 80% immortal smurfs 😔
Back when i used to play i was hardstuck silver forever, when i finally got to gold. it was basically immediately to plat. people say it's not your team it's you, but it really honestly is the team sometimes.
pretty good ngl tbh

It would be nice if in the end of the game the diamond player give him some advice on what he's lacking since he clearly good enough to play as a team so why not give him a bit critizism
29:19 if anyone haven’t noticed it, check the in-game chat 😂😂😂
He's actually so good. What i think he lacks though is stamina. Cheering you on dstn!
Amen brotha
stamina?
@@palpendick_ular6131 Some players can play really well at the first half of the game but get mentally tired during the second half, making them play like shit.
@@solaris218 i am one of them. Any tips?
@@junichik762 when i die i just go on my phone it helps me relax in between rounds and my mental stays good the whole game
I made it to iron 2 this week and was so excited 🤡 these people play so well
This act I got bronze 1 that's my highest rank I ever got forst try usually I get iron 2 and im so happy about it as well
ay everyone starts somewhere
He could improve on game sense and switch less often his weapon (he's been killed multiple times because he was careless and ran with his knife out even on spot) but he is indeed pretty good.
Not sure if he deserves diamond for the reasons i stated above but he could play in plat for sure.
