a title means you've sworn fealty to that monarch and its military, it would mean revoking citizenship at minimum if it's real, this is a really bad idea for anyone to try and do, please speak to a lawyer and verify. Part of the reason it's treasonous to claim fealty to a former enemy e.g. Britain, is because it pledges ALLEGIANCE to the military of another country, which is the reigning monarch (head of the MILITARY). It isn't just a name.

So on my fathers side way down the line we technically own a castle but it’s worth so much and who ever did own it in our family stopped taking care of it so including the upkeep it’s worth is in the millions but we don’t sell it so it’s kept in my families name.
I actually am descended from a royal family in my country from my mom's side but holding titles is not acceptable here like u can have them but they can't be used for power of any kind...we rnt on the popular side as some existing royal families for their current fam being in spotlight.. also my great grandpa donated all the inherited land to farmers and homeless ppl so yeah we rnt known per say
