- Battlefield 5 still has some insane Battlefield moments in it. A large player base too, thanks to game pass. There's some real fun to be had here, playing with the Sten as a medic. Leave a LIKE and a comment, thanks for watching.
Imagine this game with all tech/visual advancements, but in modern setting. We were so close to perfection, but instead we've got 2042 lol.

Honestly ! I bought 2042 recently for like 15$ on the series x and it looks good and it’s fun (now) but it’s so Arcady and twitchy movement. Would definitely prefer BF5 mechanics and visuals in 2042 setting
@@chrisbrown113096 This is exactly the case for me. Overall dumbed-down mechanics with arcade playstyle cranked up to eleven. This + scarcity of content and the fact that support for this game will cease after Season4 makes me rather launch bf4/1/5 on ultra settings and have more satisfying and eye-pleasing experience.
World War 3 (oh the irony) looks interesting as well, but I can't shake the feeling of it being "the uglier cousin of BF4". But surely I wish them all the best and keep my fingers crossed with time all the cheap quirks shall get polished (pun intended).

I can proudly say that I still play bf5, brilliant to hop on every now and then. Nice vid jack!
Only thing that pisses me off is how stupid broken planes are, especially horrible on some breakthrough maps.

The “squad leader” was done exceptionally well in this game if you weren’t actively placing commands you get replaced with someone who’s more interested in actually leading 😂
They've done that for several games. At least as far back as bf4

I think its a little too easy to Get demoted, like i make a goal to take an objective and it takes 3 min so i Get demoted

The annoying part was when you request order and a squad leader kicks you so you don’t get it when they’re demoted lol
Just wanted to say thank you Jack for being a part of my early childhood. You and levelcap were my favorite youtubers for battlefield, and it's a shame that battlefield isn't what it used to be.

It was great. Still is. I wish more people appreciated it while it was active. Everyone just cried all the time how awful it was. Drove me nuts. 2042 on the other hand deserved it.

Fortifications were such a genius idea imo. In almost every battlefield game people cap a flag and just sprint off. This gave u a reason and something to do to stay and defend.
Plus it added more destruction to the maps as they could be blown up and rebuilt multiple times.

I wish fortifications were in BF1 honestly. BF1 is much better than BFV in most ways but the lack of fortifications was such a missed opportunity.
@Overlord I prefer BF5s gunplay alot but BF1's maps and athmosphere is much better. I play both but unfortunately BF5 is too colorful , while BF1 actually feels like a war game. It has more to do with the art design than anything.
It’s amazing to see the level of detail this map has in comparison of 2042…
I think BFV has significantly less detail in it's maps compared to bf1 and earlier bf titles

Soissons in BF1 and Arras in BF5 are beautiful locations where I’d actually like to live - if it wasn’t for the shooting and killing, of course

I'm enjoying 2042 but I HATE the fact that you show up on the mini map when firing.. 🤦🏻♂️ Bf1 and Bf5 don't have that and who missed it??! no one.
It is true that the SAS used the Sten, and is also true that they cocked it and throw it into a fortified position and the gun was so badly designed that it started shooting as it hit the floor until it emptied the magazine. A handy way to clear a room without granades.
A random funny fact about the gun 😉
Polish resistance was also unhappy with it, so they modified it and created Błyskawica (Lightning) - from what I know it was way better than the original and considering it was made by people living daily under brutal german occupation, one can believe it was a challange to not only create prototype, but also mass-produce it.
It was cheap which is why they preferred the American Thompsons

That’s not true. It could fire a single round if dropped in the earlier models, but later the versions wouldn’t do that.

Regular infantry was also issued with STENs
DICE gave us the option of suppressing the M3 Grease gun in the game, but suppressed STENs were also used by commandos and special troops, and apparently STEN mk. II (S) was a very quiet smg

The visuals and destruction in BF1 and BFV are still some of the best looking to date.
The sounds and ambience in bf1 and bf5 are the most immersive and realistic imo
The faint sound in the background while he revived the guy “Im alive im alive” when out of no where he gets kamikazed is perfection
Game would truly hit its prime if it had a Eastern Front DLC. People would go crazy for it

Turned out to be a great game. The Pacific was fantastic and I still still find myself playing from time to time. Anything WW2 just gets me in the feels since both my Grandfathers served. I still have my Papa’s trench knife he carried right on through to the end of the Pacific Theater. He carved the names of every place he he was deployed, starting with basic training at FT Devens to IE Shima on the leather sheath.
Been going back to BFV a lot lately. It's so nice to not be dying every time I try to run to another objective (2042 is, ironically, not the time to be alive).
The pacing of this game was amazing, wish 2042 was similar to this or bf3, felt a bit slower but once the action started it was INTENSE. 2042 just always feels ridiculously fast for a battlefield game.
Imagine if they finished this game rather than devoting time to the failure that was BF2042 😭 it could have been perfect
I always find if you rage and hit your desk you will have worse games but if you stick on some music and just go with the flow some of your matches will be an unreal vibe
Desk slappers are capable of having good games. Any time they are not beating on their desk can be considered a good game.
2042 will never get as good as BF1, 4 and 5. Its changed so much from the BF way they can't fix it. Love your vids Jack💪❤️👍

How stunning are the graphics in this game... I don't know if any game has these grass physics. It's those small details that do these games so immersive

I still miss this game and it sucks that the servers are dead in my region 😭 I absolutely loved it. The movement, gunplay, sound etc was amazing
I didn't know I was ever going to miss Battlefield again, but this video did that.

This game especially seemed pretty divisive when it came out with some oddball update changes as well. But I had so many memorable moments from this game. Like shooting out the window of a house while a tank smashed through the living room and a bomber nearly levels the building next to you.

The plane sounds in this game are amazing
4:00 this is why I love bfv. You can have these little personal side experiences within the expanse of all the battles going on which is something that I haven't had in 2042. The pace of this game was great because you can engage in the main front or go off and engage in these mini side battles or funny little one on one moments like that sprinkled throughout!
This and bf1. I can never get bored of.
0:32 I don't know about british special forces, but I know polish resistance used Stens modified by themselves, called Błyskawica (Lightning), since they found the original design not good enough. The main difference was placing the mag underneath, similar to MP-40, but I guess there were more changes to it.
Arras. Tirailleur soundtrack, and just about to head into the village. Just like in the early days of this game, and the nostalgia for me hits so damn hard. Love it Jack.
Confrontation with the Half-track, and the random Kubelwagen at the end were a hilarious bonus..!

Love all of the videos of the older Battlefield games that you've been doing. I'm a loyal BF fan but actually never played BFV after all the controversy about the lack of content and so on, but it seems Dice left it in a good state before ceasing development on it. I always hop on to BF1 and 4 after you do videos on them 😁
Love using the Sten in this game, such great balance of weight and power with great rate of fire and accuracy, shame that the real one had absolutely none of those qualities. That’s where I enjoy a bit of creative license. It was mass produced from low quality materials and used by all Commenwealth forces and dropped into resistance groups from Norway to Yugoslavia. Jack is absolutely right about SBS although they would be some the few that would get to use silenced Stens.
It was cheap, and the early versions were unreliable, but the later versions weren’t and either way, any sub machine gun is better than no sub machine gun.
I love how the bar was lowered with each bf game, and now looking back previous games look way better than they did when they were new.
been playing BFV for the last 2 weeks and i will say that the movement in this game is top notch and sniping is just perfect
Yea the sniping is awesome. Yesterday I joined a match and everyone used either a semi rifle or a sniper. It was nuts. My team destroyed the other. My squad of randos were top and less than 5 deaths total. I used the Martin Johnson for the first time since I bought the game. Damages like the semi snipers with the speed of assault semi rifles.
Jack yes as a voracious firearms collector the British Special Forces began experimenting and sometimes implementing suppression systems on sten guns. The very large barrel shrouds were early suppressors that only lasted a handful of rounds.

There were no servers on BF1 yesterday at all for the filter settings I was using. Switched to BF5 and found two that fit my criteria. Both had multiple cheaters. People shooting straight into the air to kill waves of us and then teleporting away to another part of the map.

They had supressed stens and were complete badasses who carried british commando knives, made to be thin enough to slip through the ribs.

Everything felt so smooth in this game. Movement, animation and how the guns handled. Something about 2042 make the game feels rather stiff compared to BFV

this is the best battlefield game in terms of graphics, optimization, gun play and movement, etc. Also the destruction of buildings and fortifications always blows my mind.
STENs were used by British special forces, but the Thompson was more common. The STEN was more for regular infantry use, being the second most produced machine gun of the war.

Look how bright and colorful BF5 is to BF1. BF1 had dark and muddy rocks, the sky was usually grey with a lot of clouds, and the overall environment made it feel like there was a war going on. That's where I feel BF5 lacked the most.
BF5 felt like it should have been an expansion pack for BF1.
You are right on the STEN gun, although towards the end of the war there was a more diverse collection

Breakthrough on this map was always fun i remember taking the brumbar and letting it fly on the final objective and taking down the house
During attack on Reinhard Heydrich (Operation Antropoid) in Prague 1942 Gabčík was trying to use Sten. Gun jammed and didn't fire. So second soldier, Kubiš throwed antitank grenade vz73 MK1 which wounded Heydrich fatally. He was highest German officer killed in WW2.

From my very limited research, it seems the British special forces primarily used the Bren and Thompson, as well as the Webley revolver as their sidearm but was quickly replaced with the Colt 1911.
The British SBS mainly used Thompson M1928 SMG’s. It was the Special Operation Executive (S.O.E my favourite) that mainly used the STEN.
BF1 and BFV have such great atmosphere. I never really enjoyed the more modern shooters so definitely prefer the setting and weapons of the WW1/2 games.
I think that battlefield gets their graphics right all the time, unlike nowadays games (2042) which there graphics are cartoon like, not realistic feel. Thanks Jack for the entertainment and love your video. Keep it up mate 👍

BFV deserved so much better. A great game drowning in diarrhea that was abandoned. It hurts thinking about how this game could have been with another year of content
I started playing it about two weeks ago and man I love it! I wish they would make another update, doesn't have to be much you know. One big update a year is all it needs really.

bf v the most popular bf on steam still says something about both bf v and bf2042. Pacific expansion was great, this game had more life in it then it was given.

I played some 2042 Liberator rounds today, and it was fun. Couple rounds turned into spawn camps but it was alright. Then I come watch this and this game just looks and feels so much better...

Ehh, directional footsteps are a complete fail at times and planes/tanks will occasionally glitch, becoming completely soundless. Nothing better than having a stealth tiger roll up on you
@@sidjay1220 had mine on 3D sounds settings so as I remember it it was fine for me. But it has been like 2 or 3 years since i played it so you might be right

Played it yesterday, I think it's one of the most underrated Bf games.
I still play it. Yes SAS and SBS used the sten. Also officers and sometimes Sargents. I kinda wish they stuck with BFV. More maps would have been fantastic. And a version of the bf1 behemoth would have been awesome.
Battlefield's contextual leaning and peaking actually work well sometimes, being able to pop up and have you gun above a ledge is something I wish more games had. You can also manually bind the leaning in bf5.
