Today, lewis drove like the 7 time world champion that we all know. Ngl, it has been tough being a lewis fan since 2022 and especially this season when he seemingly has lost his mojo since the start of the season, that even i started to think lewis is just not in the game to win anymore. Against all odds? The odds were literally in their favour. They had a 1-2 finish in qualifying m8. This is literally a case of the odds aligning at the most perfect time for him. Their pace couldn't have been any better, and George was simply very unlucky.
@Awaks Yes and no. In the first phase of the race they were the quickest but once the rain came the Mclaren was the quickest car, Piastri could have easily won the race had Mclaren not botched their strategy, could have even had a 1-2 of Piastri and Norris since they had the best tyres which were the medium in the final stint. Sadly, a totally SCRlPTED race. RB are still the fastest car, they gave a hint after the last pitstop. RB are so far ahead, that bosses decided to pull them back to make it look closer. The crash last week was a setup and for George to win. Then they mysteriously retire him on lap 34 today so that the points earned match the real level of Merc. Three Brits at the front yesterday on home race, then a Brit winning today. Almost as bIatant as Lecelerc winning his home race.
