I think this looks like a pretty nice Beetle Convertible. My first car ( in ‘73) was a ‘67 Beetle Convertible. I think they’re fun to drive, even though they are not fast. I paid $500 for mine. It looks like the convertible support rails are in tact, as well as the floors. If you spent a weekend detailing it, even with the chips, it would be pretty nice. I think the chrome would polish up, and even if not, replacement pieces are readily available, and even the good German parts aren’t that expensive. These cars are increasing in value.
Linkage issues are common, on air cooled VWs. Simple to adjust. Just gotta know how. If someone took it apart to rebuild, didn't know how to adjust. There you go. Or, may just need to be refbushed. I am amazed, that it is still fuel injected.
That super view should be called the bug eyed view. Who doesn't love aVW bug?! My brother had a '72 chopped bug with wide tires and when he went to car shows, more people would be around his VW bug than all the muscle cars. It was so different is why people were drawn to it and it looked really cool!
