Watching this guy tear leather apart like he's a chef checking to see if the dish is well cooked
It's more like a butcher cutting up a carcass
as a chef what the hell are you talking about?
@@Dylanm84 you ever watch a cooking show and they cut the dish open to check how thoroughly it's cooked? Usually they do that in culinary school too
@@simsbanshee a chef is someone that serves food to customers they dont hack at the food and serve an ugly mess to see if its done, you have to be skilled enough to know its perfect without cutting into it. maybe your talking about instagram chefs?
@@Dylanm84 ..... You're dumb. They have television shows where chefs do this all the time
Damn dude, when you tear apart those bags I couldn’t care less. Let her rip. But something inside of me died watching you demolish that perfectly usable boot hah
That's generally how *us chicks feel about a lux bag being deconstructed!! lol. But I'm with you *on the Doc Martin's:/
He believes in equality. Nothing would go unscathed.
Well when humans see a use for something and its dwindled, we can not stand it.. and that is the same feeling if more because they could have been an actual thing that could have made a difference.
Not usable anymore.
@@FallnAngL-dg7gx handbags have 0 legitimate use, shoes do
To be fair, I was surprised and disappointed to learn that Doc Martens had abandoned their British supplier
I work in a shoe shop, Doc Martens have gone down hill. They're the most returned shoe for being faulty and damaged and they're all made in China or Vietnam. Yet they've had a massive price hike.
@@jackpaterson5949 I wore them in the 80s and 90s. My last "real" pair lasted forever and were so comfortable. Then when I bought the next pair they sucked. I eventually tried another pair and that was it. The Chinese have destroyed them.
@@clacicle sadly a very frequent story. But we have the atrocious greed of the companies who outsourced to blame.
@@clacicleYeah had the same experience in 1996, that was the last I remember buying them. It's not the outsourcing is a problem. The parent company cut the quality and bill of materials. They got rid of the insole, put cardboard in the sole and absorbed the sweat and fragmented. I changed to Caterpillars.
@@clacicle the Chinese didn't destroy them, the British owners did. They're the ones that moved production elsewhere so they could cut costs. Weird how when you export your labor to a foreign country and pay your workers pennies on the dollar, you get an inferior product
I have Solovair’s and love them! I actually use them as my winter boot because of the waterproofing in the welting…and I accidentally ordered them too big so I have to wear thick socks 🤣 I wanted a pair of Doc’s but after doing some research and finding Solovair still maintains the level of quality and Doc’s sold out to a cheaper product and higher profit margin it’s a clear choice 👏🏻
How are they holding up?
@@Tom-ud8js great! I’ve had them for three years now and the leather has broken in nicely.
That's great to hear! @@trackqueen42
yeah i had to go a size an a half down from mine normal size just to get a pair that fit
Really sums up the phrase things can be greater than the sum of their parts
In Canada we have a brand called Canada west. Theyre great for the price. Mine are shiny, and darker now than when I bought them cuz of dubbin grease for Canadian winter. $280 CAD for the slip on style, Goodyear welted and insulated.
Great boots. I expect them to last me years and years
They look fantastic. RM Williams look like the Aussie version of them
goodyear the vulcanized rubba company?
@@whoeusbsknsi Yes and no. Goodyear welt was invented by Charles Goodyeat Jr., the son of Charles Goodyear. The Goodyear Tire and Rubber company was founded by Franklin Seiberling and named after Charles Goodyear.
I think you’re providing highly valuable information! Great work 😊
I already decided that Solovair would be my next pair but seeing this I am even more convinced now!
Oh man. So excited to see boots. Can't wait to see Allen Edmonds!
If you want DM's, buy these, as they're what DM's once were.
I bought DMs 10 years ago and loved them. My ex bought DMs like 3 years ago and they were absolute ass. She asked me if I wanted to buy them off of her and I told her I'd rather keep my torn up Docs with the one hole in em than the new flimsy Docs she had.
You should make a series, where you carefully deconstruct them and them reassemble them but fix all the bad parts.
Makes more sense actually ❤
I work inside and outside in all weathers.
I replace my Doctor Martens every five years, although theyve never needed replacing.
Interesting 🤔, I've known many Doc's fans over the years that now won't buy them since it's harder to find genuine English made ones these days. Maybe it's just an Australian market thing? Apparently the ones made in Vietnam are better than the Chinese made ones though..
@@_cloudface_ everything is better than “Chinese made”
There's a lot of fake everything available to buy online now.
I use shops. Like to hold and feel what im buying.
@@GaryThatsgary amen🙌
@Bingo Bertha
China has the best manufacturing capabilities in the world. They’re capable of making the highest quality stuff and lowest quality stuff all in the same factory. The issue is the West only buys the cheap low quality shit to make as much money as possible so you assume that’s the quality of Chinese manufacturing.
Yes, a proper review!
Someone who understands the value of shows
I have a pair of DM boots I bought when I was 17 and they are still going strong. No one would ever guess they are 40 years old. The only line of DMs worth owning nowadays are those still "Made in England." While the range of shoe/boot is far more limited, the quality is superior to those made elsewhere. My husband gave up DMs for Solovair as he feels they are more comfortable for "old men," lol.
My man shed blood to make this video give it a thumbs up
You give great tips on how to spend my money on luxury brands. Thanks
His right ring finger paid a price of tearing the boots 😎
We alway notice those minor details. 😂

So solovairs is where its at, never had even herd of this brand, btw do timberlands next
Have you reviewed Blundstone boots? If not I’d love to see one!
A teardown of bunnies would be great
Anytime someone mentions Doc Martens I can’t help but inform them about Solovair, I’ve got the chelsea boots and they are honestly the comfiest boots I have ever had with the added bonus of they are extremely well made. I believe they also sell replacement soles when it eventually comes time to that however after 1yr of solid use I see no sign of needing to anytime soon.
Please can you do rm Williams boots. Everyone in Australia owns a pair!
I love my RMs so much I'd cry, but I agree that he should do it! I would watch! 😊
Came here to also comment this! Would love to see him do RMs
Think about his wallet.
Love the knives you’re getting into. Reminds me of Edcknifedungeon
What do you do with these pieces afterwards? Do you throw them away or reuse the scraps?
Portion and freeze in single-serving containers. (Usually enough to last a few days.)
Chop veggies, mix spices or marinade meat in advance to save time when you’re ready to cook
@@jasonchiu368delicious
He makes a frankenbag 😁
I’d love to see a comparison of doc martens made in the uk vs the Asian ones!
after being a long time dr. marten fan, i bought my first pair of solovair gibsons last year, and the difference in quality is noticeable. i’ll never go back to docs again.
these are investment grade shoes/boots.
Do red wings iron rangers, please!
Oooh I'd love to see more shoe reviews!
Im a Fan of the timberland classic boots.
Could you open one of them ?
I with someone would do this for Van Binmel, or the brand aimed at younger people: Floris van Bommel.
It is a Dutch brand and provably harder to get in the US..
They make dress shoes and higher end sneakers.
I feel they are daily priced and very high quality, especially when I head about pricing about other dress shoe or sneaker alternatives in other contries.
Can you look at firefighter/EMS boots and see which ones are best quality? Danners firefighter, haix, etc. etc.
$25-$30 for leather + another $25-$30 for the rest of the material comes to $50-$60 material + another $25-$30 for labor. $75-$90 cost of shoes and for $219, it’s worth it. $75 x 2.9 times the product cost or $90 X 2.5 times the product cost does bring you around $219-$225 range
Sorry really curious where do those multipliers come from? Always been curious about pricing
@@MahouShoujoAutumn just how business works. You buy or produce something for $5 but you try to flip it for at least 2-3x the price it costed you to buy or produce that item.
you could definitely open your audience by doing construction work boots, if I could make a suggestion it would be for Georgia boots, cost is 120$-500$ leather steeltoe
Does Solovair make a thinner version of the boot? I’ve always thought the doc martens were over priced anyway! Can you do a Palladium boot?
Man what a solid harbor freight Doyle brand hawkbill knife
Doc Martens definitely hold up because my daughter wore hers for years and they held up.
I like a traditional 6 inch boot, brown, light texture… But I wear a 12 1/2 extra wide. Going to look at a pair of RedWing king Tow’s tomorrow. But all they have is 12 or 13. If they don’t fit, do you have any recommendations? I like them mostly for the ankle support style and durability. Very wide foot very high arch. Do you make custom boots and/or would you recommend them?
I love every bag that I got from you. I was surprised by how fast the delivery was. I got many compliments, so you may need to think about giving me a discount the next time for the free promotion lol 😄
Docs all the way for me!
I didn't know I was a boot guy until I saw these boots. Now I want a few pairs of nice boots. Where do I start? Preferably ones that are available in size 13 14. I'm 6'5".
Doc Martins make me feel like I’m walking with Lead weights on and they always make my back hurt.
Lead weights? Bruh how weak are your legs then 😂
@@KurtGodel-po3zl exactly my legs are scrawny as all hell but Docs aren’t heavy at all lmao
Have you tried a pair of work boots? Like Chippewa logger boots or redwings?
This episode of how to lose fingers we rip up some boots to rebuild them
Do JK boots superduty and Nick's boots builderpro next !!
Can you review the Thursday Boot Company?
This is gonna sound like a long shot, but can you do a set of Danners? Danner Reckonings to be specific
I've been wearing my docs for almost 7 years now, and the only part that's breaking is this little bit of faux leather trim along the top edge. do you think I could get a leatherworker to fix that for me??
Do you have any reviews on blundstone? Red wings?
Can you do freebird shoes? Please. I love their shoes and want to see if I’m getting what I pay for.
I had a 50 dollar pair of sketchers steel toes when I worked selling beer.
Got ran over by a fully loaded pallet fork. squished my foot, but no damage. They were light too,
I need you to do moschino bags and kate spade new york
Wow the boot put up a fight
I wanna see you do this to timberland boots
Have you done Grinders? I have an Ox blood pair.
I wear Thorogood boots. Best boot I could find without have to spend levels like Nick's Boots
Can you do one on Thursday boots
A regional challenge: review a pair of RM Williams boots. 🇦🇺
Can you try Bulgari bags next? Their leather feel so soft but I’m curious about expert opinion 😊
Have you done Catalinas boots? Or redwings?
You have to have some fun taking them apart. 😂
I hope your fingers are okay, I swear I saw blood trickling 😢
Does the acetone test tell you whether it's full grain or what?
I want to know something. What do you do with all this leather you cut?
Do you sell any leather goods ? Like online shop ?
I had this exact boot, 11 eye crazy horse... They suck, hurt my fit and make a horrible squeeky part when walking. Also the stitching is from a weak thread, started unraveling.
Do Timberlands next please
Is there s video on Thursday boots?
Sssssshit! Killed me 😂
Could you do the new timberland motion 6?
Ah, so this is one of those extremely heavy boots that make you feel like Godzilla.
can you do the same with thursdayboots?
Are these the doc martens that are made in China or are these the ones that are actually made in England because there is a huge difference I have a pair of each
Made in England 🇬🇧 comfortable too.
I love my Solovairs. The latest Docs are absolute garbage compared to the ones I had in the 1980's and 1990's which were made in the Solovair factory. They also make the original Clark Desert boots there.
Please review Thursday boots
Does anyone know where he is from cause as a Türk I hear a clear Turkish accent
Do this with Grinders bulldogs please
Can you do the brand beaver
What other industry can sell their products at these prices, with so little actual cost in materials?
how does pricing wise seem fair if the most expensive part of the shoe costs 20 but the boot 200? like 180 for making a set of boots is over the top I mean give me a boot making job if I am gonna get paid 180 per boot!
But I cant get one such job because not many people buy stuff like that so the demand isnt that high and the demand isnt that high because of the high prices... its a shitty circle if you ask me only few people being able to have decent boots/shoes because few people just are ok by stealing money for small quantities and dont want to increase production at a decent price.
Doc martens with waxed leather finish are durable and often cheap on special. Never seen one fail before the sole was worn out.
The problem with Doc martens are the increasing use of synthetic materials as liners and even uppers.
Can you do earth keeper timber lands
What do u think of redwings boots
Please do a video on RM Williams
Please do Frye!!!
Do UGG please by deckers !!!
I used to have a DM in the 80's , i would say i punished that shoe so much and yet lasted for more than a decade.
But now i wont even want to look at them. Doesnt look the same and the quality. Made in China destroys the product's reputation.
DM should always be made in the UK
You left out the Kevlar price
can you do Moroccan leather products ?
Ok, now try them on to see how comfortable they are.
I wanna see how good my $360 lowa boots are but ion wanna wreck em myself lol
Please do Thursday boots 🙌🏻
Can someone please explain what’s up with the acetone test and what it means if it soaks it up
Do barker shoes made in the uk
Don’t destroy them just unstitch them and later you can rebuild them. Checking the quality is great them but. Don’t cut them in this way that they can’t used again or rebuilt again
My heart is sad seeing those boots 😢 from a person with no shoes because my foot is too big for an Asian and I can't really afford those shoes with big sizes 😢
SO, which is better?
Do a pair of Gripfast boots.
what about blundstone boots?
