Nokie Nokie tremendo Maestro!!!! Love you Noki Gracias por tu talento y a Don a Mel a Bob Gerry a todos los que tocan y han tocado en "THE VENTURES" 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏forever and ever THE VENTURES
Nokie at his best....indeed he is always over the top perfect. I call a "tie" between the Telecaster and the Mosrite when Nokie plays them. Different sounds, but both are the tops of guitar tone. It's his expression of notes that sets him apart. BTW the comment about Nokie not looking as he plays and being "prerecorded"...just watch and learn. He was playing without looking in the 50's with Buck Owens. This group is as tight as a band can get. They've never been prerecorded in the 50+ years I've been watching....and trying to play them....Geezzz
@dRaK0RaMone if nokie had his old mosrite it would be the same. The ramones consciously tried to sound like these surfer bands. Johnny's beloved Mosrite was part of the sound.
He never looks down at his guitar because HE KNOWS HOW TO PLAY IT! He knows where the music is. When you've been one of the world's greatest guitar player as long as Nokie has, perhaps you won't need to look either.

One of the Greatest guitarist ever. Probably there greatest combo of guitars at that point in my opinion..the Telecaster paired with a Jazzmaster..just the right tones ..very well balanced.
Right on! Well at least when it comes to Pop music and all it's variants, nobody matched Nokie Edwards tone, technique, and sound/style. Just my humble opinion only, but I think that Nokie Edwards was certainly one of, if not the, best American guitarists ever.
I saw The Ventures back then and they did two GREAT sets...all their hits, everyone else's hits, even a couple of vocal tunes! They played this medley and l bought a copy on the way out...still have my Stars on Guitars souvenir!
@hectorsalina everything you said there is right except that's not Bob Spalding. He did sub for Bob sometimes in those days but that's not him. Is it Paul Warren? I'm not sure but it ain't Bob S.

He never looks down because he's one of those few people who is so good(and,as mentioned already, he's been playing so long), that he doesn't need to.

he is the bass and guitar all in one!
Dos Fronteras Sometimes the main memebers had other engagements and they would get an unknown to fill in
