When you are performing in a huge multinational competition where you are singing in a language less than one percent understand, in this case Finnish, you need a catchy chorus and flamboyant costumes. Käärijä had these Eurovision Song Contest elements in spades. It was a crowd favourite.
The crowd chanted his name and Cha Cha Cha thru the jury voting. I’ve never heard the crowd love any act this much
Peoples winner. 73.3% of the public votes vent to Käärijä. Dont blame loreen. 2006 Lordi won Eurovision SONG not singing contest... Then swedes...

Just to make it clear for people reading this, That's not true. Käärijä did NOT get 73.3% of the public votes. He got 17%.
I really love this song
Käärijä is known to take his top off on gigs (he gets hot, I guess), so they designed a bolero, that he didn't have to take off. He wanted a bright colour and has worn yellow before, but that could not be used for Eurovision, as last year the Finnish entry, The Rasmus, wore yellow. The design was also reflecting the boxing theme of the official video (where he fights his own demons, but eventually his feminine side wins the fight when he feels more free).
I think part of the shirtless thing is to show his operation/stoma scar from his ulcerative colitis.
The box is right side up, those markings were printed for air cargo from Helsinki to Liverpool

Käärijä is a rapper actually. He has some extremely sick tracks, you might wanna check them out. I recommend Siitä viis, Välikuolema and Paidaton riehuja

I think the costume choice is cause it's a huge contrast to the darkness in the beginning of the song.
He starts off alone in a dark box, and when he has had some drinks he dares to join the "happy, colourful dancers".
That is my guess.
The song is about drinking alcohol/partying and coming out of your shell. From being introverted to daring to let loose.
Why trying so hard to classify it? No point.
It landslided the televote and as you can hear, the audience went bezerk.

The dancers are cha cha dancers. That thing he is wearing is a wrestling costume that he wore in the music video. And they used pallets in the staging because "pallet" in finnish is called "eurolava" which can also be translated to "euro stage." (lava=stage) So he is performing on "euro stage" on the stage of Eurovision.😅 In the original performance it was only pallets and they added the box for the final performance

Cha Cha Cha, as in the dancing. Also, it's used to talk about chugging alcohol and doing shots. It's all about overcoming anxiety by drinking and then, letting yourself go. The colours are the internal sense of fun and, I guess, being mischievous haha
Cha Cha Cha, like most of Käärijä's songs, sound dark but are very unproblematic in the lyrics. This song is just about Finland's drinking culture and opening up through alcohol.

I mean yes, it is utter nonsense and silly but at the same time I don't think us finns have ever been so unanimously behind an artist going to the ESC. It was just about having fun in a time where there hasn't been a lot of that lately. I love Käärijä for bringing pure happiness back to the Eurovision.❤

What does it matter which genre this is ? Käärijä has said himself that he wants to invent with his producers something new, unique and not yet to be heard-music. I think he has succeeded with that.
You should really watch the music video to better understand his concept. You can also switch on the English subtitles ☺️
Well, I came across some interpretation of the song and its performance, that opening the box symbolises releasing supressed desires of a person, who is a brutal man, working in a warehouse, but wants to have fun and look less stereotypically manly and more glamish on his weekend and does it when having this time finally.

Im oretty sure the outfits are referencing cha cha cha dance (i think classes on thise dances are popular in Vantaa, where he us from.
it's far from electric callboy ,we got the moves is pure heavymetal with humor parts. This is mix of everything and the dancers literally dancing chachacha in UMK video.

Kaarija is not the one deciding if this video gets blocked or not, more so the production of Eurovision and tv-shows in general. Mostly this happens automatically by youtube.🙂
@@YBPlaysMusic yes but what im saying is that he wouldnt leave heartwarming comments if his representatives were gonna demonetize. and thats beside the point anyways. btw its not always automatic. literally anyone can claim your video. i have seen some randoms from india literally claiming music made by american production companies. try this, go to a random low view song and if the song in the description doesnt match then it was falsely claimed. ofc this is illegal but literally no one cares. if you arent a big channel youtube wont fix it for you, the ad money will forever go to a random that used you. ofc im not 100% sure how everything works but i know people do this alot. sad.

Sorry to say this man but your opinions are bit like from a small village... Your observations while pausing the video need more knowledge about the material - and to be honest you should not give paying instructions in the middle of the video. Although that was funny. :)
Typical ESC. This song is a circus number that no one cares about after the contest. Queen Loreen dominates on Spotify and the charts. And some ppl (mostly jealous) still thinks he should have won. Thank God for the jury votes so that real music can win and not copied stuff like this.
It's a cute song though, but it's not epic and full of heart.
