    Excellent video! The 2nd Lasko Box Fan moves more air than the 1st box fan! Definitely not the same!

    A very similar thing was going on with the Lasko 3733's when the petal blades first came out in 1999. Some fans had the full size motor like the one you have from 99-00, and some had the small made in china motor. I think for the most part most of the fans had the full size motor and the ones that had the smaller motor were the minority, but there was no way to tell what motor the fan had by looking at the box. It was all luck of the draw.

    Iv found that the ones with the larger capacitors move more air. Im sure when Lasko assembles these they just have a big box of motors they put in there..

    • @JordanU
      @JordanU  6 років тому +6

      They definitely do.. I'm guessing they just pull whatever parts happen to be cheapest at the moment and put those in..

    Sagitta is the manufacturer of the higher quality motor from what I have seen in Lasko fans.

    The high speed on fan #2 is higher-pitched than fan #1. I can hear the difference.

    In Indonesia, we have a brand that makes different but same fans too. That brand is Miyako. Their newer pedestal fans are sometimes powerful, sometimes very weak, even though it's the same model.

      My church has the weaker one, and it barely moves any air.

    Hi, I am a blind person, so I don’t know what brand of fans they are, however, I can hear fairly good. It seems as though, like you said, one draws more power than the other fan. LOL.

  • @lamarcusbrown3818
    @lamarcusbrown3818 6 років тому

    LOL. That is pretty weird, That they are the same fans, however, different advanced internals.

  • @shawnhill3866
    @shawnhill3866 4 роки тому

    If you still have the slower one could you make a video of it showing close up detail of the blades? I think the reason its significantly slower is that the blades have excess plastic on the edges leaving them slightly wider than normal. I recently had a 2019 and it ran the same as the slower one in this video and i discovered it had excess plastic on the blades.

    • @JordanU
      @JordanU  4 роки тому

      The difference is within the capacitor; the blades are the same on these two.

  • @LemontTheFanMan

      Lemont The Fan Man Bro yeah this is suprising for even the copper on weaker motor is less and the powerfull motor has a lot of copper

    • @tiffany2ish

      So even the motors itself minus the capacitor are slightly different

    This reminds me of the similar situation I found at my school. They have those cheap contractor ceiling fans that you would typically see at a very large Goodwill Flea Market in the cashier area. "to be honest, I don't know what they are, but you would probably know as I describe them. They look like white Hampton Bay Brookhurst ceiling fans without light kits, and they have those canopies that are secured by two screws at the bottom where the ball socket is usually exposed, supposedly what you would see on some 1980's Craftmade ceiling fans." Anyways, I compared the ceiling fan that is in my math class, to the other ceiling fan that is in my reading class. They were both on high speed, BUT the ceiling fan that is in my reading class was MUCH slower than the ceiling fan that is in my math class. Where did the good quality go? I can't believe this is real life.

    • @JordanU
      @JordanU  4 роки тому +1

      In these box fans the capacitors are different values, the ceiling fan situation is a little different.. They're a case of the capacitors being very poor quality and drifting.. The quality is gone, and most likely it's just going to get even worse, which is sometimes hard to believe..
      A lengthy comment does not make it spam; this was a story relevant to the video..

  • @makenomistake_mynameisjeff8731
    @makenomistake_mynameisjeff8731 4 роки тому

    I have a couple these same fans with the smaller capacitors. Both are burn out. Do you think I'm safe to install larger capacitors? Specifically these specs (ones I found on Amazon): 450V AC 50/60Hz Run Capacitor 2-Wire Metallized Polypropylene Film Capacitors for Ceiling Fan Motor Start Run 4uf CBB61-4

    • @JordanU
      @JordanU  4 роки тому

      If the fans no longer run, I suspect it's probably a thermal fuse issue or a bearings issue. While it's certainly not impossible, I've never seen one of these with a capacitor failure. When replacing a capacitor, the voltage and frequency should be equal to or greater than the original specifications. The uf (microfarad) specification should be the same.
