I felt that
depending on the actual situational context (or how generously ur imagination will supply it), the line may actually be detrimental to the intent of the song
the situation may be one of 2 things:
a. he requested that she pay the entire bill
b. he requested that she pay part of the entire bill
if its the the former (the generous interpretation), the line helps the song, while if the latter, then it hurts it. here's why i think so:
in the ancient past of the 20th century, women were spared the bill on dates due to a mutually understood sense of sexual inequality, wherein the man always had the money, and the woman had to depend on the man for all her financial needs
if the man in this specific situation, seeing her profusion of cash money, asked her to pay the bill in its entirety, and she did, then her calling him a lady was a valid "flex", as it subverts the previous social structure, making her the superior party, and him the dependent
but if the man only asked her to HELP pay the bill, and she was offended by this, then the line makes her look like she supports the previous structure of gender inequality
another possible interpretation of the sentiment the line conveys in light of the latter situation is that she sees herself as sort of a high ticket option. and therefore expects to be treated as such. going on a date with her should be treated as a privilege, and the date should not be ungrateful
but this is a weak interpretation given two things:
1. the line "ladies first" brings the line into the wider context of gender relations in society, not just for the artist and her date, and,
2. it makes her sound like a prostitute
so yeah. i'd like to think it was the first situation, as i like the song and i like cupcakke and i'd rather not ruin my listening experience with just one ambiguous line

Because she is so good. Sometimes people don’t get what they deserve just because of people are too afraid of them. When Cupcakke blows up as much as she is worth we will see her everywhere. We are just watching but she is rising. Being unapologetically yourself takes a toll. And the toll is a slower growth than other more more “commercial” stuff.
