Dang, coming up again on this song is like seeing an old friend passing by in the window, rushing out to meet them only to find they’ve already passed by. My ex and I had this tradition of sending each other music on the reg, and when we finally broke up, I remember this was the final song I sent to her-wishing her Godspeed in everything, knowing that I wouldn’t be able to share the joys of life with her anymore. I’ve since moved on and we’re friendly strangers now, but hearing this song brings back all those memories for me again, and the way you sang it captured exactly how I felt at that time. Thanks for this man, it gave me some healing that I didn’t know I needed 🙏🏾

sir joseph solomon…this was one of the most beautiful covers, ever. always love the tone in your voice. this cover made me think of the countless other videos you’ve posted. made me reminisce in the biblical videos which were rooted in what I believe is sound doctrine. i had listened and rewatched your cover of come thou fount to the point where I’d copy the chord progression you played. you used to end your videos with “grace and peace” and that struck the greatest chord in me. to the point it made way to me making a brand called Grâce et Paix. i could say you were a great influence on me before “influencing” was even a thing. idk if you’d agree but I still believe God is still using you for His glory even though it’s hard to comprehend in the moment.

Frank prioritizes conviction and passion over perfection, and that's what allows you to really feel this song. this is it's own thing, but perhaps if you'd let loose and just focused on presenting those feelings you're singing about in their truest form, you'd find a new level of satisfaction through this form of expression
i did find satisfaction. so did many others. frank sings three keys higher than me, which allows that “belting” you’re referring to. i’m offering another interpretation. that’s the point of covers: not to sound just like the original but to offer an interpretation. if you prefer the original to interpretation, then just stick to the original.

Fun fact: I lowkey got my nickname "ivy" after the song "Ivy" off Frank's Blond. It's my fav song off the album and I also like how the word ivy sounds plus I like the plant as well, put it in simple I like everything about "ivy" lol
