Enzo works in a structured system. you see him constantly having to look up to see where to pass the ball because we don't have set patterns of play etc. it's also why our defence isn't working as our way of defending is pressing from the front, winning the ball back and playing in transition. This system plays to gallaghers strengths
This is how Connor was playing and thriving at Palace and it maximizes his current skill set a lot better than a 1 footed 10

We can rotate between the 3 depending on the opposition. I’ve been saying it since I saw Caicedo and Gallagher at the beginning of the season that they should play more together. I love Enzo, but let’s start resting players. We have Palmer, Carnie and Casadei for the 10 position.
I like Cucurella aggression. He reminds me of Rudiger when he first came, and then his decision making got better over time. Cucurella’s only problem is decision making. He has everything else IMO. Please one of the Chelsea trainers take him to the side each week and study his play with him. There’s a great player in there.
the funny thing is he wasnt even playing LB, tbh rarely was mudryk even, i swear i saw cucu more on the RB and middle on the pitch than on the left side lol.

I think it's Poch thing. Cucarella is quite mobile and active and he reads the game reasonably well. He has made some key defensive interventions for us in front of goal. So I think Poch has given him more freedom to roam and invert.
If Palmer had also squared the ball to two unmarked players on his left, we might have gotten a 3rd goal and not be whining over a disallowed goal. we love him but he must also remember it's a team and not an individual show off. Caicedo seems to play his best when Enzo is not on the field. Jackson will come good i believe, he needs more time. Mudryk ... no words lol.

Check the first offside if the game.. badiashile was offside but was pushed by some aston villa player.. didnt give a foul then and was called offside.. the refs need a better eye to brain connection to understand things..

Ive always said with mudryk that with a run of games he gets better, well hes started 4 of our last 5 and I haven't seen anything and they've probably been the worst he's had this season. I don't know what I want now cus I can't rely on him but I don't want to sell him as I know he'll get good and that we'll regret his sale. I’ve always backed him to show more quality if he got a run of games but honestly he just looks like a lost puppy when he plays. Idk what intention he has, he just needs better understanding and I want to see him making runs in behind not always receiving at feet, but even then he doesn’t have a clue about the runs he should make and the time he should make them. Im still hopeful for him but something has to push.

@@tr1912Yeah Mudryk is so behind with his game IQ. Also he is fast but his first touch is often let him down in tight situations and he doesn't know how to win 1v1 other than with a burst of speed.

I have said it severally that gallergher is far better in that position than henzo fernandez. Henzo hardly add anything to the team. If henzo can't play 8, then let him be on the bench. Casadei should be given more games time in place of mudryc.

Caicedo and Gallagher is currently our best midfield. Hopefully Gallagher can prove himself to the directors the rest of the season

It's not about working it wasn't working you were 2 goals down Gallagher is terrible on the ball. What changed was inverting cucureilla in midfield creating overloads in the middle the same thing he should have done with chalobah and let Gallagher sit deep without pushing foward

gallagher and coicedo didnt work up until the time he inverted cucureilla into the midfield inverted full back pep guardiola's tactics, Gallagher and coicedo were still failing till cucureilla added numbers into the midfield to create overloads, it doesn't work , Gallagher lacks technical ability on the ball and you can see it, coicedo has technicality but Gallagher doesn't , he ain't rodri , he should be sold, cucureilla made the difference in midfield

Mudryk created 3 chances by touching the ball 30 times. Badi ignored him all the game. Poch was shouting at him to pass the bal to Mudryk during the whole game. LOL Mudryk had a better game than Palmer

Sterling is injured (Back injury) without playing more than 2 games for past 3months, Nkuku had been having ordinary Knock injury for more than 2 months, R. Sanchez have been out with Unknown as status of his injury... Chilwell up & nextweek is out.... Maybe the Medicals is indulging by not being world-class & proper diagnosis them but there is no zeal from this team members.

Cole Palmer is the Heart and Soul of this Chelsea team. Can't imagine Chelsea coming back from 0-2 down if he was not playing today.
I feel Palmer is best when at RW honestly. The angular play fr that position helps himas compared to attacking perpendicularly (the missed chance as a case in point)
Same goes fr Jackson, he's more suited to playing and attacking from the wings.

I think that goal being disallowed is absolutely fair because Badiashille definitely bumb Aston Villa player from the back which made him won the ball. But what's unfair was of course how there's similar situation in another match and it was given as penalty. Also the hand ball last time that was overlooked by VAR

Like you mentioned the consistency with VAR is the big problem, in particular in the Premier League. Sweden recently blocked the ruling to add VAR to their respective leagues as of next season, probably because of the farce it's been in England. However I for one think VAR could be corrected implemented with the Qatar world cup being the prime example and even the Champions League's VAR officiating is miles above that of the Premier League. Cannot for the life of me figure out why the system is horrid in our league, but then again I'm not surprised.
By the way, proud of the team the way the players made that comeback. There's is decent quality in them after all.
As much as I cant forgive Var, lets remember Palmer had the third goal in his feet, could have passed it to Casadei who was wide open without a keeper, decided to scored it himself and miss it. Unforgivable.

Chelseas 3rd goal was disallowed cos Badiashille shoulder barged Carlos in the back which is a foul in the current rules,if it was shoulder to shoulder its no foul,but that wasn't the case. Chelsea had most of the possession & played well,but the only thing that counts is goals scored,so it ended 2-2 a draw obviously.

The 2nd goal came from the right hand side where Madueke wasn't giving support to Chaloba
Refs are the x-factor more influential than Lady Luck. It was so obvious real time l knew there was a linesman issue. Digne even stopped because it was out. No call on Madueke pull down either. This is why it's so important to improve our on field performance. Off the ball movement not good enough and buildup attack too slow. Poch Out.
Shaved head, straight down to business! VAR would make hippy empty an extendo clip on the fools. Call it the goodnight sleep after an ass whooping, but I saw mentals finally straightening up, still some lacks but the reaction was good, hope they improve on it and stay consistent.

For me I think the VAR thing is just a scam. The ref gave it as a goal but the VAR team called the ref to disallow the goal.
Jackson goal was also disallowed again but if you review the goal cash was the one who kept Jackson onside.

Our women’s team was robbed of a fair playing field by biased refs and their unfortunate decisions the same day. I think you could’ve mentioned that as well. They are a part of Chelsea too.

I'm sorry, but I disagree with you on Cucurella. In the 1st half both Mudryk and Madueke kept switching off defensively. They were not helping d full backs hence exposing them constantly. It was worse on the left because Mudryk wasn't helping Cucurella at all, constantly exposing him to 2 to 1. It was a disgrace. I am yet to see a full back that can help Mudryk's game.
Gallagher was awful in the double pivot earlier in the season. Everyone was slagging Poch for playing him there. Now Po ch is an idiot for not playing him there more. 90% of Poch's decisions this season have been forced on him by player non availability. There were several players in this side who aren't good enough to be in a title winning side. But there was literally no-one else available! If we stick with a double pivot next season though, Caicedo + Lavia could be interesting....
We were already 2-0 down so I don't the draw. We continue to be coached bad and the VAR call is fine. Seemed really light. If it was the other way round, I would probably be happy with them overturning a Villa goal. Carlos sold it well physically. Overall though, VAR is not good enough at all
Honestly I’d be fuming if the shove was on a Chelsea defender, but VAR aren’t supposed to re referee the original decision unless it’s a howler. Other thoughts, why can Caicedo play well alongside Gallagher but not Enzo, and are we really going to sell Connor to Spurs? Crazy. Also Badeoshille looked good, Cucarella and Jackson also. Noni was great, Mudryk needs to go to Strasbourg on loan he isn’t a PL player. Cole was kept quieter but he knitted things together and kept us calm, if only he’d slotted his chance. Poch changed things up by moving Cucarella inside and it worked. Some pride restored!

I think it was a penalty tbh. A push in the back is a foul, shoulder to shoulder is ok. Badiashile clearly looks at the defender then shoves him in the back. 💙
VAR needs to take lessons from rugby's TMO system
We need experienced players… the only experienced player we have is Thiago Silva. In 2021 we had experienced players and they were key. (Giroud, Azpilicueta, Jorginho, Ziyech, etc)
