What I watched: "Sora no woto" What I expected: "Lighthearted comedy" What I got: "All quiet on the western front" I literally cried myself to sleep and wished I was a better person after watching it. Only "Love, Chunibyo & Other Delusions" and "Grave of the Fireflies" has done that :(
I am a disabled veteran, I recently I was brought to tears several times. Yet, I felt Uplifted by many things, including the conclusion. I wish it was longer, and it was possible to more deeply explore the world we get just a glimpse of. Wonderful Concepts are touched upon. The major characters, and significant supporting characters are based upon Archetypes. With some interesting variations that is part of the Quality of this series. Archetypes are useful because of limited time. Of course, many people are quite similar to Archetypes, especially fellow Soldiers. I often recalled Comrades I served with. Men from 17-54, not "Japanese" (or Helvetican) "schoolgirls" yet I could identify with much of what is Depicted. There is the blend of experiences in training, garrison, and being in a combat zone. All in less than a year in that world. Mirroring a 28 year career with multiple deployments. Including 14 years after September 11th 2001... It's not the specific elements, but the overall SOUL of the series that Feels correct to me! The series is Internally Consistent, allowing me to suspend my disbelief and enjoy the HEART of Sora No Woto.

I'm a disable vet too. The weight of the world put on their shoulders in this anime really... REALLY hit close to home. It was beautiful. If you loved this, you may want to check out Elfen Lied. It was directed by the same director as Sora No Woto, and a lot of what was used in Sora No Woto came from Elfen Lied. Both are utterly brilliant and amazing.
I usually see people call this anime "Slice of Life" and "K-ON in the Army". Both are incorrect. This show is multi-layered with an excellent story. It is Sound of the Sky (Soro no Woto) and it is one of my top favorites.
I have heard Amazing Grace done in so many different ways. From a single bagpipe to a full group of 10, full symphonic orchestras both just orchestral and with a choir, on panflute, various other ways. Yet, the best version, by far, is by a fairly unknown anime, by a Trumpet Soloist.
This is the Christian song, The Creator of this song is John Newton who repent himself to Our God Holy Trinity. This song talked about Repent to Christ, It's not about anything else
@@clearytirpitz101 This is not a reference to Amazing Grace. It is a reference to the Japanese anime Sora no Woto, which uses this song as its theme song. Please check it out!
Until I binge watched Sora No Woto, I thought that performing Amazing Grace on the Bagpipes was the most evocative. Now I think that performing on the Trumpet is best. Perhaps, "Echoing Trumpets"? (two Trumpet players, sepperated by distance, the second plays just a few beats behind the first. Taps is occasionally performed in that manner.)
@@xoqvuz Princess Illya, the lone soldier who plays the Amazing Grace for the main character died by drowning when she is saving a kid who fell to a river in a thunder storm during the war. And no, the main character did not get the Imouto treatment(except from the Commander but she treats everyone like that). They just know she should be somewhat reliable since she is able to become a soldier.

First, why at 0:06-0:40 E1 flat is played with 12 instead of 1, A1 flat with 12 instead of 1, C2 with 0 instead of 1 and B1 flat with 2 instead of 0? Second, why at 1:09-1:13 E2 flat is played with 12 instead of 1, C2 with 23 instead of 1, B1 flat with 2 instead of 0 and A1 flat with 12 instead of 1?
