This video made me so sad. When I got out of the Army, I asked my sister if I could store my army stuff in her garage. She didn’t tell me she was getting evicted and a few months later I asked if I could come pick up my things. She told me she got evicted and wasn’t able to get any of my army stuff. I’m still pissed to this day. Awards, ribbons and everything was thrown away.
Dang, I'm so sorry about that. The Air Force was a HUGE part of my life, so I knew I needed to keep those things. So so sorry
First: I want to thank you both for your service! Second: I used to work for the VA, and service members lost or accidentally destroyed many medals and awards, etc. all the time. You may be able to get at least some of those items replaced if you contact the NPRC (National Personnel Records Center). You can start your request online, I believe, as well. Hope this helps!😊

Wait aminute⁉️ As an adult, you are mad you sister for falling on hard times and getting evicted. If the things meant that much to you, you should have rented a storage unit and be responsible for storing your own military memories. Grow up‼️
To all the veterans and active duty members here: THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR YOUR SERVICE!! I was not in the service but many in my family were. In addition, I served both active duty, reserve, and retired military for many, many years before retiring in 2020. Whatever your current status, please review the VA website, and the NPRC (National Personnel Records Center) at least twice/year for benefits you (and/or) your family may be eligible to receive. You deserve it!!😊

Here's a tip anyone can use. The things that tug at the heart strings (your couch) take a picture of it. You will still have the memory but no longer the weight and/or cost of carrying it around. Here's to making your next chapter your best chapter!

Yeah…it’s something when you’re trying to decide what to keep and what to let go of. I use to hold on to things also. But I began to realize, if it’s been 2 years and I forgot about it, it’s probably not worth holding onto. You’ll get another storage which holds onto the worry. Later you’ll think to yourself, the only thing I really needed was that chain saw😂❤

I didn't think I would be an orphan by the time I was 41. I lost my Dad in 2005 and my Mom in 2019. So sorry for your lost. It is a pain that never get better. 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽

Keep all the military things and go thru on the next trip. Im going into a fully reno ed city bus. Im gonna build a frame for my couch and sitting space. Its gonna be a wonky triangle. Imma use a piece of good foam and cover it with quilts. Im in W Ky.

It really was a nice trip, we only had issues with the AC lol I sleep hot 🔥 and he wanted the heat on at night 😩😩😩😩😩 I'm so happy to live alone 😂😂😂

I sure would have kept those solar panels! And as much as the couch meant I think I would have let it go. So much dust and no pillows will probably cost more than a new couch. But that’s just me!

Yup, because of Covid. But everyone is selling now, so now would be the time to buy a pre-owned one. But yep a whole year...time flew by so fast
I agree with your comment about purchasing used vs new. Many people purchase a utility trailer, then build it out from there.
I literally just did the exact same thing. i traveled to go downsize and rid of somethings from my storage . Had to hire a guy to help me move from 10x15 to 5x10. Gotta do what ya gotta do.

So nostalgic about your Air Force stuff. I wasn’t military but much of my family was. My favorite cousin was AF and he passed the end of 2023. I say keep it and gradually release. ❤ Release the couch since it doesn’t have cushions. It can be replaced. This has been helpful. I have a storage unit in my home state that I need to clean out and I will follow your lead of purging.
Just try to keep the top of the tiles from the pantry to put in your new trailer just try to get the top of the pantry off you work hard on it and it does bring sentimental memories to you that makes you smile so it's worth it

Heeeey, sooo nice to see you. That road trip would have done me in😢. I kept one each of military uniforms too and alot of the stuff I bought while traveling overseas. I understand about not really wanting to get rid of some stuff because space its hard, I've moved soooo many times and it seemed like I accumulated more stuff each time I moved. Yesterday I received my full retirement papers from the Navy from Fleet Resever to full retirement (30yrs) 😢. I got real emotional seeing that chapter done and over. I had no idea I would be receiving a certificate..so that was my last military item. I see alot of daddy daughter resemblance..thank you for bringing us along and it was nice seeing your dad and sister. Hope to see you posting more frequently😊.

When you first purchased the R Pod, i had my doubts about the long term durability of those travel trailers. I dont think they are built for full timing.
It's the hair flip for me. I love it!
Because I have OCD I couldn't buy a pre-owned RV,I don't want to inherit someone else boo boo box or feel comfortable sitting on the sofa.
A lot things go on in am RV people bring their pets and fully use the RV doing adult things.
Lol but you sleep in hotels & AirBnBs 🙃

Do not get a use rv, because there are full RV's, have FRAME'S broken etc. Frames with no warranty is awful. You have to get a new RV or your homeless. This couple has 3 small children.
Next time pay the money for a inspector. It's worth the money. They will see things you never look for.
Also be careful where you by from. Check the reviews and Better Business Bureau on anyone you pick.

You could have contacted a shelter either men or women they would’ve came and picked up the stuff for free and what they do is when a person gets ready to move out of the shelter they supplied on things to put in a new locations nine times out of 10 they helped him with housing so any things to put in the apartments or the house so a lot of his good stuff could’ve went to that either women or men specially the women for the clothes and the shoes in the house so items they do not sell the items and give them to them for free. They could choose what they want from your supply. I don’t need all the time and I live down there
