- I was able to get away to do some exploring on new ground with my friend and training buddy Doug aka @pointers_upland_life (Instagram) for a day. To say we found a new Honey Hole is an understatement! I have never shot a full 15 bird Quail Limit over my dogs. Today was one for the record books! We had a great time and the dogs put on a show. One of my favorite hunts of the year for sure. Thank you to all of my subscribers and those that comment on my videos. I truly appreciate your continued support!

I have never hunted Scaled Quail before. This coming season I'm going to spend some time down South looking for Scaled and Gambles. I can't wait!

Man I love your videos! The old man and I shot our first ever limit of 16 birds in Iowa mid January last year. Took til the final minutes of the day. It's an awesome feeling!

thanks! That is a Rizzini BR 110 Sporter. Mod/IC chokes. I shoot either 7.5 or 8 shot for quail.
Thats so awesome. I hunt over my dog with a 28 gauge out here in CA. Its hard shoot anything else after you pickup a 28 gauge

What chokes were you using and what do you think your average distance shot was
I run IC/Mod for Chokes. Average shot was probably 20 yds or so. Some a little closer and some a bit farther. They were holding pretty tight so nothing was too far...rare!

Watching fro New Zealand. Just wondering why your buddy is carrying a pistol. (we don't have any major predators in NZ and is illegal to own one here)
HI Riley! Thanks for watching from New Zealand!! We don't have any many predators here either. We are allowed handguns and AZ is a Constitutional Carry state meaning there is no law against carrying a handgun. Depending on where we are hunting we will occasionally carry sidearms as personal protection. Some of the areas we hunt are right on the border between Arizona and Mexico. There is a lot of human and drug trafficking that happens in those areas so having a sidearm gives some an added sense of safety. I have encountered snakes, coyotes, and Bobcats while hunting Quail that met the business end of my shotgun but, haven't needed my sidearm. I don't carry it very often. My buddy carries it everywhere he goes, hunting or not.
