That's a speak and spell. It's an old
Education device made in the 1970s. It would ask you to spell a given word using the keypad below.

The Speak and Spell was produced by Texas Instruments. Despite being marketed as a children's toy, it was actually an extremely advanced piece of technology for its time; featuring one of the first true text-to-speech circuits.
