How do you like this style of interview video - just going into one song on a record? We enjoy it and appreciate that Marc let us grill him on just the one topic. Curious what you all think!
I really dig these interviews, and I'm not really a big Dragonforce guy. Daniel did a great job, though, and Marc wasn't a big cheese ball like I thought he might be. Please continue with this series. I want to see more of Daniel chatting with metal dudes in a tiny record shop.
Loved this style of interview just diving deep into one song. Also extra points for conducting it in an old school independent record store. Daniel is great! 🤘Banger tv🤘
I think The Edge of the World was the best song from the new record, I hope the next album they bring out will have more of the death growls cause I think that was a great thing to introduce for Dragonforce it steps out of the comfort zone Dragonforce was in for a long time glad to see something new
This is exactly what I wanted for this song! I really became fascinated with the lyrics and having information straight from the band is awesome! Thank you, Banger TV! Love the concept of these interviews!
@@CertifiedFreshMemes I think he meant mainstream wise . Like how metallica or slipknot or system of a down is in the mainstream radio stations, they get like hundreds of millions of views like every video when they put it up on UA-cam . Stuff like that . For God's sake some system of the down videos already hit a billion views I think . Yet there's like ashes if the dawn or the game music video by Dragonforce that only have like 1 or 3 million views . They should have way more than that .
The Odyssey is one of my favorite songs! I definitely heard Symphony X while listening to Edge of the World. I always appreciate insight from the musicians. Good interview!
Good to see these new and relevant interviews! I haven't heard a dragonforce album properly since 'Inhuman Rampage', but if they want to go in a prog direction with these songs, I'm excited about it!
Absolutely loved this track and the new album. It goes into a lot of interesting new directions and takes unexpected turns that really makes it different and stand on its own legs as a separate album from the rest of their work. Edge of tomorrow was definitely my favorite song on the entire album and definitely worth spending an entire interview on.
Oh ya, your approach was Ultra friendly and Every musician (unless they have already repeated certain questions many times) is Definitely glad 2 know that their fans like to know more about their songs, bravo there! alot of what you asked was what I as well would have asked (shiz I likewise wished to know) goOod choices! Roarr!
i thought that's a song about dark souls cuz there was some words about bells and immortality and fire and gods and the chosen one who saves the humanity from darkness
"It's very uncharacteristic to have that kind of long song on a DragonForce record" - dude have you listened to any of their albums? Their songs are usually 8 minutes long, Soldiers of the Wasteland from the second album clocks in at almost 10 minutes! Even Through the Fire and Flames is 7mins 22seconds. You're talking out your ass.
They're not an anti-christian band, but they did spring out of a Black Metal band called Demoniac. I can't really speak for what each member's stance on religion is.
Most of (if not all) their songs are about overthrowing evil and darkness, hope, redemption, and overcoming daily problems. Sam said sometime ago that basically all of the earlier DF songs are about demons vs angels, with the songs being sang from the angels' point of view. Specific songs are based off videogames, like Fury of the Storm which is a song about Starcraft. Since Marc joined the band and released The Power Within, they started to have more relatable lyrics with songs like Seasons and Holding On. Symphony of the Night, Curse of Darkness, and Behind the Mirror of Death are a trilogy of songs based off Castlevania that were released in Maximum Overload, Reaching into Infinity and Extreme Power Metal respectively, and right now they're going all out with videogame-based songs like The Last Dragonborn (Skyrim), Power of the Triforce (Zelda), and Space Marine Corp (Warhammer 40K). In fact, they love videogames so much that in Maximum Overload they wrote Extraction Zone which is literally a song about playing videogames and escaping from the routine. Two songs that really hit like a truck once you understand the meaning behind them are Razorblade Meltdown and Remembrance Day, the former being about Nokia going bankrupt in 2002 and its workers committing suicide, while the latter talks about the fallen soldiers of World War I. TL;DR Their songs are basically summarized in "good is awesome; evil is bad", and they often write songs about videogames. They also have songs with very "serious" lyrics that are worth listening to.
DragonForce went downhill when zp left and they hired Marc I've not listened to them much since ultrabeatdown because his voice is soo cringe like nails on a chalkboard
Edge of the wolrd is my all time favorite song definitely . It takes me to whole new another level !!!!
FUCKING AMAZING PROP TO DRAGONFORCE

Loved the last DragonForce album, shame they often get overlooked
The most popular power metal band in the world getting overlooked? Look towards Power Quest for a similar band that is getting massively overlooked.

Good to see these new and relevant interviews! I haven't heard a dragonforce album properly since 'Inhuman Rampage', but if they want to go in a prog direction with these songs, I'm excited about it!
Their last two albums have been awesome imo
Badass Look Marc

There's a difference between a 7 minute song with a 3 minute solo and an 11 minute power ballad with a death growl break 6 minutes in
Great interview Daniel! \m/
if anyone knows of other songs like this, please reply
4:55 Theres all these people rockin out and just one guy that looks bored af just recording on his phone XD
They must make a music video for this song?
Nice talk! :)
Is it just me or does anybody else think that Marc Hudson kind of looks like Richie Faulkner?
Wearing shades indoors for the interview, looks like a poser to me..... only Lemmy can do do that.
This is a really strong album though. I actually liked the variety, and the Power Metal songs were still fantastic.
What record store is that!
Tiny Record Shop, Queen Street East
BANGERTV - All Metal Is it in america?
What record store is this?

Marc hudson is Sebastian Bach on past hahaha
I wanna know something about this band : are they "anti-christ" or something ? or they enjoy life ? xd

RedWings01 well said
Fred is a devil worshiper I believe. As Red said, we can’t speak on their religion.

11 minutes is not an epic.
