740hp Audi RS6 - Custom Exhaust

- Hi all, I recently had the back-boxes (rear silencers) removed and straight pipes put in their place by a MIJ Exhausts in Walsall so knocked together this video to show off the noise it now makes.
I did this same modification to my older C5 RS6 (the videos are in my UA-cam Channel) but the V10 is much louder than the older V8 is, much louder.
The mic is a standard voice mic (100hz to 10Khz) rather than a full range mic so it doesn't capture the bass at all making the exhaust sound more tinny than it is in real life. It's attached to a Drift HD, the mic sensitivity is set to "Low" and it is taped to the roof of the car about 1m away from the exhaust but it's so loud at full throttle it still distorts quite badly (new mic ordered).
Also, just to be clear, this isn't a "look how fast I can drive" video. This is a normal UK road where there are lots of cyclists etc so I only accelerate on the straights where I can see a good distance in front of me and I slow right down for the corners so this is in no way representative of what a RS6 handles like when being pushed or my performance car driving ability (yet to do a proper trackday vid).

I removed the back boxes, everything else was standard. It was good sounding and cheap but was pretty loud on a morning start. When I did the 900hp conversion a little later I needed to swap to an aftermarket system with 3.5in downpipes (provided my MRC) and a 3in exhaust (KWE Tuning) which sounded much deeper and, to my ears, much nicer overall.
@@ianh755 900! Blimey I bet that was lively! Mine still has the standard system at present, just wanting a ‘sensible’ 700-750bhp so I’m thinking that I want secondary decat, centre silencer delete and a mod stock rear silencer should do the trick. I would normally buy a full aftermarket system, but the only off the shelf kit I can find (from uk) is a Milltek, and from experience they are too quiet in my opinion. I had one on my B6 S4 and I ended up cutting the back boxes out for a straight pipes bar the 2 cats. Was a little too loud then. Wondering if you’d know from your experiences how the set up I described would sound?
@@cainoxcx6 Loud, it'll sound loud! Everything you want to do will work and, if you have nice neighbours, there should be no issues with morning starts vs exhaust volume.
Booked in for 10th April with Pipecraft Basildon as I have used them before on my old S4 they made me a back box delete, I’m going for back box delete and secondary cat delete on the RS6, leaving just the main cats, and the small centre silencers in place. Should be spot on like that. Don’t suppose you know if the Eml is likely to come on after secondary cat removal? I don’t think it would as the second O2 sensors are before that secondary cat, so shouldn’t make a difference right?
But anyway, I’m hoping to book in to MRC on the 12th to see what it’s running. It’s supposed to have been remapped by them in 2015 to 720, want to confirm this and then see if they can tweak anything after the cat removal.
@@cainoxcx6 EML Light - nope you won't get one. MRC's maps (engine and gearbox) should easily get you 700hp+ with 1000nm+, you'll love it!
