Loved the broadcast Andrew! My heart broke listening to Timothy. I, too, was at the crossroads of divorce with my wife about 10 yrs ago. I chose to stand for my marriage and I prayed, prayed, prayed and the Lord answered my prayers. The Lord began to heal me of old wounds and a lot of anger and bitterness (part of the problem) as I watched him soften her hardened heart (of which I was 100% to blame) and approx 2 years later our marriage was restored. Life hasn't been perfect since but the Lord will finish the work he has begun. So I want to say to Timothy, stand for your marriage and pray. If you don't pray for your wife, who will? We are joined together as one and called to love unconditionally just as we love our children and as Christ loves us. I'm praying for you Timothy! God can restore your marriage and will honor your sacrifice! God bless you!
The more I listen to the grace message, the more I realize that the only thing we need to truly and deeply repent of, in order to be able to return to God (do "techuva" in Hebrew), is to have believed that God was wicked and harsh. Once that's done, any desire to continue in sin collapses. God loves me, and that's what leads me to choose holiness and purity.
The 12 disciples except Judas were not unregenerate but were immature believers growing in maturity with the gospel of Jesus' cross being fulfilled and finally made mature through the Holy Spirit and given faith to move mountains but restraint by humbleness, as Jesus humbled himself on the cross. Even then believers are given different degrees of faith, and start off as baby believers but some remain stagnant like those mentioned in Hebrews, the reason to seek God in Scripture which applies to believers. Also, it is believers who themselves do not move a mountain but through Jesus Christ who will move a mountain, as Jesus Christ said that without him we can do nothing. Hence we focus on Jesus, not the mountain, and the reason for prayer, which is according to his will.
The gospel of Jesus Christ at the cross prior to its fulfillment was under the dispensation of God as a mystery to the prophets, angels, even to the disciples, being revealed a little here, a little there, in the Old Testament so that we cannot mistake the disciples as unregenerate. After the cross, its mystery was then revealed by the Holy Spirit and is now under the dispensation of New Testament saints, and also revealed to the angels by means of preaching the gospel of the cross by Apostle Paul and the other Apostles.
The changing of one’s mindset! YES Not Complicated!
