Nobody knew more about the Kelly story than Ian Jones.
Great man Mr Ian Jones. All Kelly fans are forever grateful for your passion and research into the Kelly story. So sad to see him pass away last year.
Kevo Biggy Well, if you believe in those things, you can believe hes now on the other side with a thankful Ned for taking such interest in his life, and Ned can tell him everything, down to the least detail and fill in all the blanks. I think Ian found his right spot 😉👍
Didn't know he died, very interesting bloke.
You probably dont give a shit but if you're bored like me during the covid times then you can watch all of the new movies and series on InstaFlixxer. Been watching with my girlfriend for the last days =)
@Shane Forest definitely, been watching on instaflixxer for since november myself =)
I had the incredible privilege to spend an afternoon with Ian at these locations and his house. We ate dinner at the local pub and I left feeling incredibly privileged. Sorry to hear of his passing last year.
Good Man for Caring about True History
@@bradwilliams7212 Thats a very uneducated remark Sam.
@the kelly gang i notice sam has once again deleted his comical comments and changed his UA-cam name...
He's a real character that's for sure!
I have a letter (not email) written by Ian Jones to me back in 1996 after I wrote to him about his book -Ned Kelly a short life. Ian was a gentleman & true blue aussie! I was very saddened to hear of his passing.
I could listen to Mr Jones from sun up to sun down. I love his slightly unbiased attention to detail. He wants the truth but like me wants it in favour of our favourite man. Please make more Ian, we need it before it’s ALL gone
Thank you Ian for your insights, rest in peace.
Ian Jones is a legend just like Ned Kelly.
Not quite ol fella
The good thing about Ian was he listened to what you said, a good scence of humour too....👍🇦🇨
Glad I found this on youtube. Where I lived at Collector up in the hills we found an old camp site with those tin and broken bottles etc and we were of the belief it was the Ben Hall gang hideout prior to entering collector and killing the police constable.
could be anyone dear friend there are countless such sites.
@@ISCDESIGNAustralia that's true but life is more interesting when the possibilities are open to the imagination.
Amazing video and research dedication and clear speech! Thank you.

The tranquillity of the bush, peace loving sound the peculiar loving smells JUST THE SETTING AND SCENERY AND THE LAID BACK IRISH MUSIC WHOLESOME.OH SORRY WHATS THAT ABOUT NED KELLY,IN A FAR AWAY PLACE HE FINDS HIS PEACE AND TRANQUILITY❤.NARRATOR WAS ALSO A PEACEFUL PERSON FINDING HIS SOLACE.
Mr Ian Jones .
Thank you for sharing 💜
Have always wondered how many police were shot at the siege as the gun battle went on for 12 hours. Great documentary.
From what I've read no Police were lilled at Glenrowan, all those that were killed were killed by Police bullets.
@@bradwilliams7212 That's the first I've ever heard of that and I've read quite a few books on the Kellys. Do you have any more to the story or can you point me to a source?
Love the sounds of the Lyre bird in the background, that high country is so nice.I'm going to move there one day.
CAN WE PLEASE GET THIS MAN A VIBE CHECK
an amazing stroy told by an amazing person.
@@bradwilliams7212 is there any proof for this?
wonderful research and intuition. THANKYOU
@@bradwilliams7212 really? what makes you say that? As a heritage architect I got a good feeling the research was quite well done and not done quickly, referring to a life-long study fo the man & events.
@@bradwilliams7212 ok interesting thankyou like to look more at that . Im in NSW and it never really was too important to us here-but certainly interesting

Excellent Presentation,
The thing that amazed me so much is how geographically tiny the Siege Site is, reading about it and seeing it are two different things.
Smart man Ian is
wow great to hear that
Terrific on the spot documentary. Such a pity Ian’s voice is obliged to compete with the totally unnecessary background music.
Thanks mate he`s great
Thankyou
Perfect
A descendant of the Quinns told me that Ian Jones had passed away ?

Issa vibe😋😎
Just one minute in and It’s all about the vibes or lack of them and I thought this would be a scientific and serious piece.
Ian Jones was very biased. There's been a lot more academic research in recent years that show that he got a lot of things wrong. A lot of his research was based on anecdotes from the descendants of Kelly's relatives and Ned's own skewed accounts of events.
Whats serious about life ? ?
@@lapalad No one more than Stuart Dawson. He has a time machine you know as he knows Fitzpatick wasn't drunk when he arrived at the Kelly house. He also fails to mention the Fitzpatrick illegally drank at the Winton Hotel. He can't explain what happened to Fitzpatricks severly damaged helmet and fire shovel. Two very important pieces of evidence that didn''t even make the to do list.Where's the statements made by the Kelly girls ? @@lapalad Since i called you out on your lies you went back and edited your original BS about Wardens/clergymen and priest numbers. Now you're stating 6 and i've suggested you name three of them and you can't.That is why you're being a child just like DM,IM,BW.SS,PB,SD,DM.You never did reply as to why the 30 odd people below the gallows didn't make statements about Neds excrement splattering around them or the pugnent smell filling the air......because you can not. It's all in your mind. You should trade your Kelly books for a CATT .What a unit you you are d.

after he was shot by the Kelly Gang what happened to their 4th victim

If the Kelly Gang had have had modern weapons like M249 machine guns, scoped Steyr Aug A3 rifles, RPG-7's, modern US body armour & helmuts, night vision scopes, radio's etc & had have abandoned their tactic of fighting in the open, they would have won the battle at Glenrowan despite being hopelessly outnumbered. Imagine the terror of the police hearing 800 rpm firing at them from the M249's!
@rod kemp Yes, Ned perhaps showed his immaturity by trusting patrons he released which turned out to be a fatal mistake. Still, If you could somehow go back in time and arm the Kelly gang with those modern weapons, and urge them to use the stolen plough boards as protected weapons stations - it would have been a slaughter.
Yes, imagine that...
Or tie his shoelaces together
@@slev8871 Huh?
What a stupid comment. The Police would’ve had those weapons too.
The story took place in australia. He’s saying Erin for Aaron which is the American pronouncing . Erin is the name of Ireland, please don’t disrespect my sacred cultural name of a county Clare descendant.🇮🇪
Greatest Irish invention, a solar powered torch. Summarises the Irish well.
Get over yourself
Very well researched, well done. You also don’t glamorise the Kelly Gang like some numbskulls tend to do.
