Nicely done Cyber! I've not yet been to Wigan but there's a lot of interesting history railway wise! Them 769s are very slow aren't they lol. To Be Honest: 3 Indeed: 0 On Screen Now: 1
Nice video Simon. Never been on this line however my train from Manchester to Blackpool stopped at Bolton years ago when I was younger! I enjoyed watching.
Fantastic Simon, brilliant line indeed I know what you mean about the 769s well weird seeing the TFW 769s which I would need to carry on with them before filming these, The Manchester & Bury line would've been a interesting one to ride on serving the Bury EMUs at one stage:)
Manchester Victoria to Bury, that would had been interesting but it all a Tram network now. I have been thinking about doing something for that line as well. Thanks PEP EMU FAN
brilliant im going to start off by saying even tho ive seen a few 796s around the North on electric but that is the very first time that ive heard a 796 on diesel but it sounds like a beast i cant wait for GWRs 796s to enter service than i can have a ride and listen for myself amyway its great to see Westhoughton again i rode that line in 2019 from Wigan to Bolton but back then my train started from Wigan North Western instead of Wallgate also its a nice line to ride and im liking Lotstock even tho ive sped passed while travelling between Preston and Bolton/Manchester
Nice short video. :) Love the info that you put into these videos. And yes the class 769's or converted class 319's, the diesel sounds on these just doesn't sound right to me as I've known the class 319's to be EMU's right from when I was very young.
This was yet another awesome Vlog Simontrains and I’m really enjoying watching your videos and your very inspiring to fellow UA-camrs and your journey in this Vlog was very enjoyable and interesting indeed my friend and I look forward to seeing so much more content from you I’ve also shared this video to my community post hoping more people will come across to your channel and subscribe to your channel keep up the good work my friend and stay safe
Did cover this in the video, Lostock Station is on the Bolton to Preston line as the junction is before the station. However there was platforms on the Bolton to Wigan Line which Westhoughton is on but they were removed
Nice!
Thank you CraftyTheo10
Thanks for the video, Simon! That looks like a very handy branch line to have and it will be even better when it gets electrified
Thanks barrowc
Nice video👍
Thanks ENC Trainspotting

Thankyou Ticosprinter, to be honest it's not easy to get to the north from Ashchurch
@@Sim0nTrains It's not easy to get to anywhere from Ashchurch due to the lack of services but Indeed the North is tricky at times.
Nice video Simon. Never been on this line however my train from Manchester to Blackpool stopped at Bolton years ago when I was younger! I enjoyed watching.
Blackpool North services still stop at Bolton but worked by Class 331 EMUs, Thanks Sam
@@Sim0nTrains yes that’s cool I think it was like a 156 back in the day.
Great video Simon

Thank you Simon, I'm finding your video diaries very educational these days. It's a good format that works really well. 🙂

@@Sim0nTrains your welcome
The house that is boarded up at lostock junction used to be a pub called The junction I'm not sure but I think it's now demolished
Westhoughton. Sounds really quite posh. And the line isn't electrified but good to see Northern's Class 769s in service.
It's electrified now
That boarded up 'house' is a derelict pub
What about Lostock station

@@Sim0nTrains im sorry i butted in before i finished the video the checkerbent station is still visible in the under groth at side off scrap yard
Why is this station the only one on this line
Well watch and find out
