7 minutes in and nothing on what's wrong with the M&P 10mm ... ✌🏼
Thank you.
I've had my m&p 10mm for 6 months and have gone through 2,500 rounds flawlessly.
That’s good that you got a good one. Congrats.
Sweet. What kind of loads have you put through it?
I purchased the 4” model.
As I do with all of my semi auto pistols, from 1911’s to all of my polymer pistols, I polish the barrel feed ramps and throats to a mirror finish.
Not only do I have zero fails, my S&W 2.0 10mm will feed an empty shell!
Nice. Thanks for the advice. I’ll have to do that as well as getting a heavier recoil spring.
Being a long time reloader I have found that most light primer strikes are due to improper primer seating. I always double check my primers with my hand priming tool. Just a thought. I love my S&W 10mm 4.6, great shooter.
Me too. Primers are set properly. I load thousands of rounds a year and this is the first time I’ve had primer issues.
I just took my M&P 10mm 4.6 for the first time to the range today. First time I've ever shot 10mm. I was worried the recoil might be too much, but no I had a great time, no malfunctions.
I HAD an MP 10mm 4.6. I could not get through a magazine of any ammo without feeding problems. Rounds were constantly getting stuck when chambering. I tried numerous types of ammo. Even worse, Underwood 200gr would cause the magazine to fall out every shot. I called S&W. They refused to acknowledge that these are common problems and would not comment as to wether they can be fixed. The customer service rep. Was unbelievably rude, cutting me off, talking over and even shouting at me. This began during the initial conversation during which I was nothing but polite. All I was told was to send the gun in and that any kind of refund was not possible. The turnaround time for a S&W gunsmith to inspect it was 6 weeks. I bought this POS for bear protection during bow season and a 6 week turn around was not acceptable. I ended up trading the gun in on a G20 and lost $300 doing so. The only good news is the Glock functions flawlessly with any kind of ammo. I hate that I am wasting time to post something like this, but I feel that it is my only recourse and I hope that others avoid S&W products after reading it.
Damn brother that really sucks they treated you like that, that's why I'm so damn proud to buy my firearms from Shadow Systems who by far has the most excellent customer service you could ask for, and not just in regards to firearms either. Granted they still haven't expanded into other calibers yet, but whenever they do, I definitely will buy and review what they put out.
How did the gun actually fail? Junky ammo? This is an optic issue. I always run across these kinds of videos after I purchase a gun and I watch them. Never have I had any issues with my firearms. People like this will never be satisfied.
It’s a part that’s included with the gun that failed. Not the optic.
@@cherrycitygunsandammo1011 your video is titled “S &W M&P 2.0 10mm FAILED!!” That’s a pretty extreme title that corresponds to the actual integrity of the firearm rather than the optic that comes with it. You did some pretty good shooting and you seem like you know what your doing, why not call out the optic? You are making some of us worry who bought the gun and haven’t fired it yet. That’s all.
@@alvinmalave8885 the optic didn’t fail. The optic is 100% and did not come with the gun. The mounting plate did. Sometimes we title things the way we do to help us get views.
@@cherrycitygunsandammo1011 thanks for your honesty brother! I am going to subscribe to your channel. I appreciate you responding. I want trying to criticize or critique you in any way. I was just saying it isn’t cool to make people panic after they have purchased a firearm. I have encountered issues with the mounting plate on my Hellcat also. I am tracking. Thanks again.
@@alvinmalave8885 reading the title of a UA-cam video makes you panic? Maybe you need medication
Not sure how one would think the plastic plate had anything to do with the screw shearing off. I think the screw sheared off which left the plastic plate being the only thing holding the 507 on the slide. Thus breaking the plastic plate. Not the plates fault either. My M&P 10mm has a plastic plate on it and has held up to full power rounds(180g @ 1300fps) no problem. Over 700rds now. I did use the screws that came with the gun, though. Not the screws that came with the 507.
I would think the plastic plate does the job of alignment while mounting. The screws take the lateral force. The screws that came with the gun are probably a higher tensile strength.
Your plate from CNC will be my source when I put a Red Dot Optic on my own M&P 10mm. Getting a 4.6 inch barrel model. Thank You!
Just got one last week, so far so good. I shoot mostly reloads.
S&W if you see this video: WE WANT MAGAZINES!!!!!!!
man I've been lookin hard for them
If you like shooting a brick.
@Stop Chill no I implying that they are shaped like a brick.
Thank you I bought that gun recently. I'm also planning on putting a 507c on top of it. It's because of your information that I have purchased the aluminum mounting plate. Thank you for saving me a whole lot of trouble and anger. Keep it up. I'll let you know how my adventure turns out.
That’s awesome! I’m glad my video was useful to you. I’m interested to hear how it works for you.

Where did you order the aluminum mounting plate from fir the 507c?

@@bruceb9515 C&H Precision.
I have a C&H plate on my Hellcat and I am shopping around for a S&W M&P 2.0 10mm right now. I was told that S&W gives you about 8 plates with this pistol and that only one of them is metal. I don't know if that's accurate information, that's just what I heard. I was considering spending the extra money for a C&H plate already but this video made up my mind. The 10mm is no joke and has a lot of power, everything on the pistol needs to be strong. Glad to see someone that doesn't edit the video and shows just how human most of us are when shooting. Flashlights serve legitimate purpose on handguns, as a retired LEO that mainly worked night tours, I can promise you that.
Your info is accurate. One metal plate. Thanks for taking the time to comment, I appreciate it.

All of my plates that came with the gun are metal, except #6a is plastic..

I get so mad when people talk smack about reloads. Most people have no idea what goes into reloading and when I get done loading my ammo I’ll put it up against the best ammo on the market. Reloading is an art. Once you master it ammo looks like you opened a box of factory ammo. Now there is some people that makes flying dirt.
I couldn’t agree more. My reloads do me quite well. Pistol or rifle.
Anyone who claims you should not have a light on a gun is clueless. I only have two hands and prefer to keep both of them firmly on the gun, not fumbling with a flashlight.
I have the 4.6" barreled version of the S&W M&P M2.0 10MM. I just received my Holosun 507c today. My C&H mounting plate is actually going to show up tomorrow. I'd rather mount this optic one time, even if it costs me a little extra up front. I don't want to deal with any potential issues using the plastic plates. I know some people have had tremendous success with them, I just choose not to. Nothing against them, I'm just going with the aluminum.
Some have had no problems, but there have been plenty of people like me who have had the screws shear just like mine did. Cry once, buy once. You’ll not regret buying the plate.
You're right cowboy, wonder what we did for the many many many years we didn't have gunmounted lights.( U R A N I D I O T)
I agree for a night guard or night stand use a TAC light on it. C&H Precision machined aluminum plate when I go to put a red dot on and replaces all the plastic mounting plates with aluminum mounting plates. S&W CORE mounting plates are plastic so C&H Precision makes exact replicas in aluminum and uses stainless steel screws to tap into the slide.
I have this gun and I’m using the plastic mount with my Sig Romeo 1 red dot. Zero problems. I am just shooting factory ammo. Mostly 189 grain stuff. All I can find in my local shops.
I appreciate your content. I like your content.
It was pretty cringe to listen to you talk about how your reloads are great and it’s the gun’s fault and then have your reloads fail like that.
My reloads didn’t fail. The primers did. I have no control over that. Bad components are bad components. I could have edited that out, but I’m an honest person.
@@cherrycitygunsandammo1011 Your reloads DID fail. “Reload” is the final product of the components you assemble Your reloads failed because you had bad primers but still , the reload failed
What plate did you have to buy from C&H Precision for the M&P 10?
Its the M&P C.O.R.E. 2.0 to 507c
I have the same pistol and have discovered that mine will fire out of battery. I discovered this with Sig performance ammo, which is fairly hot. I had a few light primer strikes and noticed that the slide wasn’t fully closing on the barrel/chamber. I wish mine fed like yours does. It likes to jamb rounds against the top of the barrel. It has already been back to S&W twice for repairs and here we are. I’m not sure what to do about the firing out of battery. I have 650 rounds through it and am ready to throw in the towel.
Firing out of battery, especially with a round like 10mm is scary.
10mm is much more powerful. Most pistols are not able to withstand continuous use of that cartridge. Similar to early .357 mag handguns. Beefer handguns were made that could. I would suggest no plastic/polymers or aluminum anywhere on this type of handgun. Good steel only.
I mounted mine directly onto the gun. I never have trusted any mounting bracket. It’s solid.
Thanks for the video! I hope you figure out what went wrong with those loads.
Gun
I shot 100 rounds of PMC 200G FMJ through my brand new M&P 10mm yesterday and had 6 failures to feed, it also wasn't going into slide lock after the last round reliably. Weird. I'm hoping it's just a break-in issue and that it'll work itself out as I keep running ammo through it. I love the ergonomics of the gun but a 6% failure rate on a brand new gun is pretty bad. I also ran 400 rounds of 9mm through my Sig p365xl and it operated flawlessly.
I’m going to get a heavier recoil spring for mine and see if that helps.
Slight dent on 10mm primer especially when its off center a bit its from stretched brass. If you load it warm they stretch after 3x-4x firing. Since they Headspace on the case mouth the slide is slightly out of battery but enough to release the firing pin. Ask me how I know... Lol
Centered dent. All my brass gets trimmed every other firing.
Well if you do find the reason I would like to know. If you post here or do a follow up video. I want one of these but your not the first guy to post issues on them. Hope they get the issues worked out. Maybe spring rate? I bumped my G20 up to 22lbs and it has ran cheap ball all the way to underwood 200gr.
Anything made to function can malfunction doesn't make it a bad product especially first time hearing anything but praise for this model
You need to watch more UA-cam videos on this gun. I’m far from the first to have this and other issues.
I bought a 4" m&p 10mm. worst gun I've ever bought. I can't get through a mag without a couple jams. I think my slide is cycling much too fast and the mag spring should be heavier. underwood 180gr is a nightmare, almost every other round is slammed into the hood, tying up the gun. frustrating pistol
Glock 20 it is thanks
@@Whitemoon379 Is that after the barrel-replacement so it's fully supported? Or are we good with the chance of kaboom? Nothing quite like the Glock-smile to make your day! Definitely wouldn't want to use that brass for reloads.

Great video help a lot can you please send the info we’re to purchase the plate for mounting the red dot on this gun please I know you said it on the video but I’m still don’t find it
C&H Precision
I heard the 10mm is built on the .45ACP M&P frame. Can you change out the barrel and magazine to .45ACP? You can swap the .40 caliber barrel and magazine to 9mm or .357 sig. Can you do the same with the 10mm to .45ACP CONVERSION?
I don’t know.
Time to check calibration on your torque driver. 15 inch pounds isn't enough to cause screws to shear. A failed screw has nothing to do with the plates. The screws go into the metal frame, not into plates.
You’re lack of knowledge is laughable.
How well does the red dot show in the bright sunlight?
No problem at all. It’s got a lot of brightness adjustment from very dim to very bright.
Maaaaan this clickbait...I thought he was talking about a catastrophic failure....Had me nervous.....I love my M&P 10mm.....I had the 9mm...Now I don't miss it with this 10.

@@cherrycitygunsandammo1011 A decent video, but admitting to using a title as click-bait and basically acknowledging to use a disparaging title to up your views - real wholesome. People use videos that someone puts up to test & review so they can make what can be life or death decisions about what to carry, and potentially it can cost someone their life. Not a real great topic to use deceptive titles. S&W should sue you. J/K (kinda)
Thx for the video. Do you have a link for the CNH mounting plate?

Personally I think all weapons pistols rifle and shotgun that's for self defense or home defense should have a light on the gun. And personally I carry a backup flashlight with me all the time. I'm in a wheelchair so having a light on my pistol really helps me because i can use one hand to move me around and one to operate the light and gun.
I think weapons lights are great for many reasons. Thank you for taking the time to comment.
Thanks for the video. Is that the 507c optic? Did you go with the C&H precision "S&W M2.0 C.O.R.E." plate? I've heard of too many 10mm owners have screws snapped so I'll just buy a plate instead of trying the plastic ones (ordering optic and plate once I figure out which ones)
You are right on both accounts.

Thats great
So you put just a few rounds thru it with the C&H plate but hows it been holding up with 500-1000 rounds ? Has it sheared the bolts off? I seen another video where even with the aftermarket plate it sheared the bolts off
It’s been 100% with the new plate. No issues with well over 1000 rounds.
I've run 2,000+ 10mm Auto rounds through my S&W M&P 10mm M2.0 4.6" pistol with the aluminum alloy adapter plate from C+H Precision, using the stainless steel mounting screws C+H provided, and blue LocTite, along with a Holosun 507C with no problems at all.
It's remained solidly mounted.

Thanks. I’ll order a plate from CH
@jameshill5304
I disgarded the weak stock OEM 17-pound (17#) RSA in late May 2022, in favor of a 24# RSA for virtually all of my 10mm Auto shooting.
The gun came from the factory sprung for 9mm Luger, not 10mm Auto.
I try to use only top quality ammo, so a lot of Underwood... either way, I like to shoot ammo that gives me > 600 FtLbs ME.
A lot of the ammo I've test shot, and carry, generates > 700 FtLbs ME.
Blazer Brass sucks.
It's dirty, weak ammo, generating < 500 FtLbs ME (aka ".40 S&W Long").
If I'm stranded with weaker ammo than 600 FtLbs ME, I'll use my (spare) 22# RSA.
Good things! 👍
One thing that will cause light primer strikes is cartridges cases are just a bit short. They headspsce on the cartridge mouth just like the .40 and 45 acp. Check and let me know please
All straight wall pistol cartridges are that way. Length is good. I think I just got a bad batch of primers.
@@cherrycitygunsandammo1011 was just a thought, because I had it happen. Light primer strikes are a bit different from primer fail to fire with a normal indentation. I actually had this issue will 10 mm in my Colt Delta Elite. If it had a good dent in the primer I would have to agree with you. Have a great day1
@@cherrycitygunsandammo1011 By the way, I have been reloading and shooting for right at 40 years. I have seen a lot and will probably see a lot more.
The Holosun on the S&W polymer plate is probably about the worst scenario on the 10mm. The Holosun is on the heavy side for an MRDS, and only uses two locating posts (like the RMR). I think a lighter weight, 4-post sight would be a safer bet on a polymer plate. That said, the machined metal plate is probably a better solution with the heavier sight.
Oh, and another review featured slow motion footage of the M&P 10. The gun does have a lot of muzzle flip, so I think the sight mounting screws are actually experiencing quite a bit of tension forces, not just shearing, during recoil.
The holosun also has junky screws. They become a weak point on the 10mm.
The Holosun SCS has an advantage of not needing a plate since they cut them for a few models, with this being one of them. I haven't shot mine nearly enough to confirm it's solid, but I was unwilling to mount an optic until I found out about that one.
Unfortunately I had the same issue with my 4 inch. I’d say 125-150 rounds of MagTech 180 grain (not even full power 10mm) my optic sheered off both screws and smacked me in the face. And unfortunately when the screws and plates are provided by Smith and Wesson it’s a gun problem. Not an Optic problem.
I exactly. Upgrade your plate, put in a stiffer recoil spring and you should be good.
How many yards is your target? I can't seem to zero my optic.
25 yards
What are the chances that you over tightened the screw? My M&P 10mm performs with no issues even with my red dot.
Torqued to 15 inch pounds as specified. I’m far from the only person this has happened to. There are other examples of the same thing happening just on UA-cam.
Funny how some people still refer to the .40 S&W as "short and weak" when so many people complain about the 40's recoil and pressure.
It’s mainly as a comparison to the 10mm. Just because they’re both 40 cal but the 40 S&W is literally a shortened down graded 10mm since the 10mm was the original cartridge that was then modified down to become the 40 S&W. So yeah, between the 2, 40 S&W is the shorter weaker cartridge.
What's really funny is that it's often the SAME people complaining about both--that the 40 is weak AND the recoil is too "snappy." 10mm fans can get away with that, saying the recoil is too strong for a weak round; if you're going to have recoil, then you might as well go with the 10mm. But it's usually 9mm fans making the argument, that 9mm has less recoil and that the round is at least equal ballistically to the 40. I happen to be a fan of both, and wouldn't care to make and argument for one over the other.
@@georgegravette1132 for me .40 seems pointless. If you want more than a 9mm, why not jump straight to the 10mm. It’s like upgrading from .308 to 30-06. If you need more than .308 and you like .30 cal, why not jump up to .300 Win.
@@cherrycitygunsandammo1011Love the 10mm but 40 can be chambered in a smaller frame pistol.

Nice video. Odd that neither of you could see the misses. I get it, but they were obvious on this small phone screen.
Finally, and you already know this, phuq anyone else's opinions online. Your reloads seem accurate and reliable other than a possible failure of primers. I once sent back 2 cases of Federal 357Sig 125gr HydraShok. Every phuqn round, 2000 of them! were duds. And I ordered that directly FROM Federal
I put C&h plates on both my M&p 9 and 10mil guns and even on my fn509t

My thoughts exactly. I don’t feel like they did much testing with that plate because there are several UA-camrs that had the same thing happen. "Hickok45" said he purchased his S&W M&P 10mm M2.0 4.6" pistol himself, I'm thinking probably from Bud's Guns, but I don't believe he ever said specifically where he purchased it.
The big man shoots a lot. He knows how to handle firearms, and he stated through three videos with it that he's had zero feeding issues with his.
During his "Chapter 1" video with his brand new Glock 20 Gen5, we viewers saw him experience 3 malfunctions in under 5 minutes. And we all know that "Hickok45" (Mr. Glock) loves his Glocks. So I don't feel "Hickok45's" integrity is in question.
I've personally had 100% perfect functionality with mine through over 2,100 10mm Auto rounds since late May 2022 after I switched out the weak stock OEM 17# RSA and soft stock OEM magazine springs, with a 24# RSA and longer stronger 11-coil magazine springs.

My 10 mm Smith & Wesson works flawlessly so I don't know what this guy's talkin about. Even upgraded the 17 lb firing pin with a 22-pound firing pin so I could shoot hot rounds.
Yes good point. If yours works without issue, every single other gun of the same model is guaranteed to work just as flawlessly. Thank you for pointing that out.
17-pound firing pin?
22-pound firing pin?
I think you mean recoil spring assembly (RSA).
Can anyone confirm is smith and Wesson has fixed feeding issues and recoil spring issues since its release ?
I'm glad I brought a G20.
Did you replace the barrel so it's fully-supported chamber? Or are you good with the chance of it blowing up in your face?
This is definitely a Plastic Plate problem.... Another GunTuber M&P 10mm did this exact same thing. The optic hit him in the head, he thought it was brass, and didn't notice until he finished the whole mag.
Lol, I saw that one.
Those are not mounting plates they are shims. The optic mounts to the frame. Was the screw that failed delivered with the gun or with the optic?
It’s and adapter plate, not a shim and it’s mounted to the slide not the frame. As stated in the video, they came with the gun.
I ❤️ the M&P.
Were they S&W base plate screws or aftermarket Holosun screws? The whole frame is plastics, it's not the plastic base plates it's the tensile strength of the screws. Quality screws don't shear, mild steel Chinese aftermarket screws do.
Well these were hardened screws and trust me, it s the super thin and flimsy plastic plate that was the issue. Screws aren’t meant for shearing force, they are only for tensile strength.
This is the ONLY video I’ve seen where someone had an issue with the mounting plates. Sounds like you just didn’t tighten it enough 😂
Sounds like you haven’t watched many videos on this gun. Lots of people have had the same issue.
@@cherrycitygunsandammo1011 I don’t understand how the plate can cause an optic it fly off…if it’s tight it’s tight

@@xiaoqixi6962 the investigation? You investigated my gun? Explain how you were able to do that. And by the way, you said striker when you meant to say firing pin. But obviously you’re an expert?
@@cherrycitygunsandammo1011 chill dude, I was trying to help. I had same problem and I found they installed the shorter striker spring. You don’t have to be sarcastic to make your point.
Take care of your gun an it takes care of you.
I mounted mine directly onto the gun without a mounting plate in which I never trusted!
I didn’t have that option with the red dot I was using. I would agree that fewer parts would make for more secure and reliable mounting.
I just got a 4.6 inch 10 mm. 500 rounds of flawless performance firing my 180 grain fmj with 8.0 grains of Hodgdon Longshot. I did up grade to a 22 lbs Wolff recoil spring. my rounds chronograph @ an average of 1300 fps. Again flawless
Perfect. That’s good for you. Not everyone has been so lucky.
@@cherrycitygunsandammo1011 here's a little information I'd like to pass on. My reloads are full power loads similar to Buffalo bore. With the factory 16 pound spring I got a max velocity of 1,250 fps and a deviation of 175 fps. With the Wolff 22 pound recoil spring I got a 1,305 fps average and only a 60 fps deviation. The 16 pound factory spring is only good for cup cake loads plus improves recoil impulses
Thanks for the info.
@@garymccausland1272 Great info! Curious if you changed the spring right away? Or any issues that you ran into after a certain # of rounds that prompted you to do that?
@@ShastaBean I replaced the recoil spring after the first 200 rounds. Scene i last posted I've shot another 500 rounds of even hotter reloads. Still flawless
I got 2 plates from C&H, both of them were not precision, and had more wiggle than the plastic plate from S&W, which had no wiggle. Even though there was no wiggle, I still wanted metal, but that is not the company to buy from.
That’s bizarre. My C&H plate has zero wiggle and now has hundreds of rounds with it mounted and it’s been great. This is not something I’ve EVER heard in regards to C&H.
@@cherrycitygunsandammo1011 Yeah they told me after I got the second bad plate that it must be my gun that was out of spec lol. (I guess that's why the plastic plate fits perfectly). On the phone with them after I sent a video and pictures, they even gave me a hard time about the return, almost wouldn't do it. I've seen others getting imprecise plates.
@@WAUCE7 weird. Even if the plastic plate doesn’t wiggle, it’s has no strength. It’s plastic. Screws aren’t designed for shear strength. They simply hold the red dot down. Your plate provided shear strength, or doesn’t in the case of the cheap plastic plates.
@@cherrycitygunsandammo1011 If your plastic plates broke at the front posts my guess is your screws weren't tightened down or loosened while shooting. You said in the video the plate should take out all the wiggle, I agree, then there's no force on the screws. So when I buy a $50 adapter plate (twice), it should not wiggle.
@@WAUCE7 I agree, they shouldn’t wiggle. My screws were torqued to 15 inch pounds and lock tited. They didn’t loosen. I even took the time to degrease the screw holes and allow them to fully dry to give the lock tite the best bond possible. I do this with all optics mounting.
My 4.6 10mm failed to chamber round 1-2 times per magazine, all types of ammo. Then with Underwood ammo dropped the magazine every shot! When I called S&W the turn around time was 5-6 weeks and they gave me no assurance that they had a fix for these problems. What was even more shocking was that the CUSTOMER SERVICE Rep. talked over the top of me and eventually raised her voice at me when I asked for a refund, since she could not assure me that the gun would be fixed in 6 weeks. Given this situation, 2 weeks after buying the Smith, I traded that POS in on A G20 and lost $300. Since S&W was of no help, my only recourse is to share this experience with as many people as I can.
I hate to be posting about this, but from what I have read others have experienced this same problem.
My G20 functions great with anything that I put in it. Including Underwood.
Bro every post I see about this gun you comment about your experience we get it you don’t have to comment twice per vudeo get over it
Why do you care?
@@cherrycitygunsandammo1011 I don’t care just saying we get it these guns been having problems you obviously don’t care helps your video out 😂
Interesting, and the opposite of my own personal experience.
My old Gen3 Glock 20SF was a veritable jam-o-matic with 10mm Auto heavy full-power FN HCL 200 Gr and 220 Gr bear-defense hunting loads from Buffalo Bore, DoubleTap, and Underwood, as well as with Underwood Ammo 10mm Auto 165 Gr and 180 Gr SGD Bonded JHP self-defense loads... on the order of a 30% FTF / FTE rate.
Plus every single full-power fired cartridge case was ruined by the notorious Glock Smiley-Face bulge, so not reloadable, thanks to the Glock's unsupported barrel chamber. I'm lucky I never had a kaboom with that gun.
On the other hand, my S&W M&P 10mm M2.0 4.6" pistol has been 99.957% reliable, with only 1 malfunction of any kind whatsoever through 2,301 10mm Auto rounds fired.
That one and only malfunction was a FTF, while I was shooting Underwood Ammo 10mm Auto 200 Gr FN HCL bear-defense hunting rounds, during my very first shooting session, in mid May 2022, with the pistol in its original stick factory configuration.
Since changing out the weak OEM stock 17# RSA and soft magazine springs for a 24# RSA and longer stronger 11-coil magazine springs, in late May 2022 (cost < $50), it's been 100% perfectly reliable through 2,100 10mm Auto rounds fired. No malfunctions of any kind whatsoever, including never any uncommanded magazine drops. That's including having fired 360 full-power 10mm Auto 200 Gr ~ 220 Gr FN HCL rounds through it.
My S&W M&P 10mm M2.0 4.6" pistol is a much better, far more reliable firearm than my Gen3 Glock 20SF was.
Mine functions great.
Good. Feel lucky, my experience with it is not unique.
I like Smith and wession but id atick the the springfiekd xsm elite 3.8 inch or the new 4.5 inch over the Smith and wession and over the new signings xten because it is having problems with full magazines my springfield has ran every thing with not one malfunction I've used cheap ppu hps and fmj and Underwood 155gr at 1500 fps which is 774 footlbs which is pretty much the most powerful 10mm u can buy and 180gr gold dots at 1300fps which is 675 footlbs and hornady xtp 180gr at 1275 fps which is 650 footlbs and Barnes 155gr and also hardcast 200gr hsm bear loads and the civil defense 60gr at 2400fps which is 780footlbs energy and it ran it all just find I'm going to test some more hard cast the 220gr and some 200gr but the springfield barrel seem to do the best for hard cast bullets which are not coated or gas checked if anyone reads this and is intrested in buying a 10mm and cant decide go watch lw roads youtube videos and also the turkeys opinions youtube and it will give u an idea of what u want out if the smoth and wession 10mm and the springfield 10mm andthe sig 10mm and the glocks 10mm but the glock is not the best for hardcast
Springfield def seems to have best cycling performance...I would own one if it wasn't for that grip-safety. No thanks to that. I'm optimistic the S&W feeding problems are going to be sorted out...or at least hopeful. Many have already said the recoil-spring or mag-spring can help or fix it. I just want S&W to come out with a final-answer that solves it 100%. Glock chamber is not fully-supported, so many/most buy a new one right away. That's not ideal. Some report feeding issue follow that move. Kaboom? No thanks to THAT! And forget about reloading brass that has the "Glock-smile" staring back at you.
You prefer this or the Canik Mete SFx?
That’s difficult to say. They are so different. It’s like comparing a sports car to a pickup.
@@cherrycitygunsandammo1011 Beside the problem with the red dot adapter on the SW, any other problem with the gun itself? Hows the trigger, grip, slide, etc. Was deciding either a MP9 2.0 or the Canik Mete SFx
@@jimliu6655 no, I really like it besides the cheap plate. Seems plenty accurate and feeds properly.
@@jimliu6655 trigger was “gritty” on the take up on mine. Bought an apex trigger to try remedy it but during the course of installation I bent the end of the trigger bar slightly. Bent it back straight and all grittiness went away. I’m thinking the initial issue was that the trigger bar might have been slightly bent from the factory. Shoots like a dream now. No ftf/fte since I’ve had it. Put s&b fmj, sig fmj, and hotter underwood through it without any failures.
I’d love to see a canik in 10mm
650.00+ for the pistol-340.00 for the optic and you have to spend another 50.00 from a third company in order for the other companies' stuff to work? I don't think so.
$1000 OUCH!!!
$729 with Red Dot is more like it 😎😎
Honestly I don’t really see the need for the metal plate because I have 400 rounds through my M&P 10MM and my Hollison Vulcan has not moved it
You’d see the need of yours broke like mine and many others have.
You don't have to get an optic either. Could just use those good old iron sights... Lol
I have the same firearm i have not shot of let.
Did you figure out what was wrong with those loads?
No. I put 100 rounds of Sig Sauer factory ammo through it without issue and close to 100 of my hand loads with small pistol primer brass without issue. Only my hand loads where I used large pistol primer brass had any issues. I tried some of those same rounds in my Kimber long slide target and had the same issue so I can only imagine that somehow I got some bad primers. I have had those stored for a long time, but I keep them in a old military ammo can with a seal in it so I’m not sure how they went bad. They are cheap S&B primers, but they’ve always worked well for me in the past.
Plastic mount and bad hardware in the screws. Get what you pay for
That’s not a gun issue, it’s poor instillation of the optic!
Lock tite and 15 inch pounds with a torque wrench. You don’t know what you’re talking about.
Could he be using small RIFLE primers. They're a bit harder.
Nope. Pistol primers.
15 ft pounds on the red dot mounting screw? You probably stripped out the screw or snapped the head off. Inch pounds maybe but not foot pounds
It was inch pounds I miss spoke. This question has been answered many times in the comments.
Wait ✋! You are a fan of 10mm? Since when!?🤣
Just started liking them last week, lol.
10 mm is a magnum round and should be handled with care and not overloaded during reloading! I don't understand why wouldn't Smith & Wesson come up with a steel mounting plate to replace the garbage they produce and force the buyers of a brand new pistol to spend $50 and purchase an aluminum plate (inferior to steel). Aluminum will fail in time. Shame on S&W for not looking after their buyers!
So... It's the red dot that failed ... And NOT the firearm
Nope. The red dot is good. The cheap plate that came with the gun failed.
I've heard these fail alot
I'm not sure Smith and Wesson even test-fires their guns these days. I'm guessing their rifles and pistols come out of different manufacturing facilities, but my M&P 10 (AR 10 style rifle) failed to cycle right out of the box. After screwing around with different springs and buffers, I discovered the gas tube wasn't even pinned to the block. Not that it broke--there just wasn't a pin there to begin with. And whenever I see these S&W "fails" videos, they all look like things that could have been caught at the factory if someone had just put a few rounds through the gun. But then that would require ammo, and someone to clean/lubricate the gun afterwards, driving up costs.
I think you’re right. So many guns I’ve bought in the past have included usually 2 brass from cartridges that had been fired from the gun and now that you bring it up, this gun did not come with that.
My M&P-10 also had failures. I sent it to S&W and it came back cycling 100% so far. I'm not sure what they did - they didn't state the fix. I saw some mention the gas-tube port being too small, but I wasn't about to get to drilling it on my own. My M&P 10mm has had some FTFs, like many others have shown. Still waiting and hoping to have them release the 100% fix; either mags (springs), or recoil-springs, or polishing or whatever it might be. Agree it's frustrating.
if guns need a plate to mount i like c&h plates .
I this is my first experience with them. They seem to be very high quality.
15 ft lbs? u sure it wasnt supposed to be inch lbs. either way, glad I bought am xdm instead
It was 15 inch pounds. I misspoke. My torque wrench doesn’t even go to foot pounds.
Recoil spring
OMG!!! this dude is taking about a red dot mounting issue? not a gun fail?
Because of the cheap poor quality mounting plate that they included with the gun.
"15 foot pounds'? Don't you mean Inch pounds? If you torqued to 15 foot pounds I you probably broke the screw at that time.
This question has been answered too many times in the comments for me to do it again. Try reading to see if your question has been asked previously before wasting yours and my time asking again.
Fail? LOL. The mags with the gun at release was the issue, that has now been resolved and I have had 0 issue with up to 200gr hand loads and my optic is fine...so.... whatever.
Good for you.
I am assuming they S&W made mags? You're the first I've seen say that resolved the feeding issues, so thanks for that!! Many have speculated about recoil-spring or mags, or other things. I've had some FTF issues with some ammo, and sure would like to be able to rely on it. I didn't want to buy extra mags if same issue to be expected, but would be thrilled to buy a few if it takes care of the FTF concern.
This handgun can not handle the underwood 220 grain cast!
Get a stiffer recoil spring.
Shit reloads I never have any issues out of any of my 10’s hell they’re even stock
Only ten I’ve had issues with. Good chance I have owned and shot more 10’s than you. Watch some more reviews. I’m not the only one. And don’t watch the reviews by the UA-camrs on the payroll. My reloads are top notch.
Thanks a lot S&W I bought this gun no knowing you skipped R&D to actually make it dependable. Now 1 year after t his video same issues going on. I guess you guys are just a bunch of Liberal Gun manufactures. Get the profit and screw the results. Two years and you still have not fixed this issue? I will fix with UA-cam R&D and if I can get it running good enough to carry I guess I am lucky. Thanks for building a gun that is repairable with after market parts. I guess you have a diversity hire crew now. Just ship it to China to be manufactured and we may have better luck.
