I have a 2011 Dodge Challenger RT aftermarket stereo that came with a camera I put I put in the Metra interface so I can have the steering wheel controls. I don’t have left side steering wheel or the back up camera. I originally had it hooked up with the back up camera, going to light up underneath the hood in the back the trunk but I was told that was wrong cause it’s a camp because the car is canvas so I took it out and did the canvas way and now I don’t have, the camera or the steering wheel string will always give me trouble. Help would be great for tonight.
You had the backup camera going to the light underneath the hood? If your steering wheel controls aren’t working, they are not wired correctly. What kind of radio do you have?
I followed your video exactly, but my back up camera is not coming on, I just want to ask if there was anything else that was done to get the camera to come on? In the ack, I connected the ornage video wire and the red wire from the power cable of the camera and grounded the black wire near the battery? Could it be my camera is bad? Everything else works great.
Does the radio change to the reverse camera screen when the car is in reverse? Have you verified you have 12v power going to the power cable? If you have power and the screen recognizes your in reverse then check your video cable first then your camera.
What does the other end of the orange wire go to in the trunk? Also when you say tap into the pink wire you mean cut it and splice the wires together correct? Thanks for your help.
At 4:55 you said the cable provided wasn’t correct, can you link the ones you use? I can’t find them

Nahh it’s common with the design. After they start lifting it’s pretty much it unless you glue or drill holes to mount it back together

It should automatically show the Apple CarPlay when you connect & open the app

Orange wire goes to the red 12v+ power wire of the camera. Yes when i say tap i mean splice the wires together. No problem at all!
