beautiful instrument textures, but there seems to be scant legato between notes. What's the use of playing it MIDI if it sounds like a keyboard is transitioning between notes?
Hey Leonardo, thanks for taking a minute to share your thoughts. I started layering the legato strings over orchestral strings and it adds a world of dimension.
Can this work on Logic, if so, my worry is to try and make this as realistic as possible, I'd have to go back and forth between some of the styles of ornamental use vs the legato use. So if there's a chance I can go to the note changer to change it to that particular style post recording then I'm sold.
I really value your reviews but I'm very critical of sample libraries and after your demo, this sample library just moved down to the bottom of my list. One big turn-off is that the instruments are all mono. What's up with that? You mention fixed tempo at 20:16 - that is another huge turn-off. On average, it sounds good but not for the retail price they're asking. No way bro. Update: I lucked out and got Desert Winds insanely cheap, which allowed me to upgrade to Ancient Era Persia at a special discounted price from a certain retailer. No way would I ever pay retial for this mono library. If you have no Middle Eastern instruments, I would highly suggest getting the Native Instruments Middle Eastern Library first, for only $99 (half during Summer and Black Friday) as it has a substantially similar array of instruments and content but much more user friendly and flexible. Some instruments are common to both but NI has more variety in terms of ensemble creation. One thing that NI has are theTurkish violins with the Portamento effect. That is something this does NOT have. That's a major thing! It just has a ton of stuff this library does not. Getting both should cover you for the foreseeable future for your Middle Eastern sound needs. I will admit, the sound scapes are great but you have to compose around them. They don't mix well on their own. So, buyer beware.
Definitely seems like a great purchase. Would love to checkout any dance music people have been writing with this!
Why do I hear some vinyl noise coming while you playing ? 5:00
