Donut “You make me red” makes a lot more sense than “I’ll make it red.” La vie en rose means life in pink and is a phrase about falling in love. I remember being really confused about the title of the song after seeing what the lyrics in IZ*ONE’s song meant. It just didn’t match. It’s a shame they changed the lyrics because now the title doesn’t fit with the overall song.
Though I would’ve loved to hear a full CLC version, IZ*ONE did really well with the song and CLC is now back with a great song! Stream No and help get these ladies a well overdue first win! They deserve it

For those who for some reasons say this song wasn't suited to be their breaktrough song, consider this: Because the song was sold away, clc suffered another whole year of hiatus which damaged the hype they had built with "Black Dress" and they lost potential fans. On top of that LVER would have been a fitting follow up to Black Dress, mature, elegant and more suited for the Korean audience and gp. I believe they would have charted in Korea with it.
For me personally LVER is one of my favorite kpop songs and would be so even if some other group than clc or iz*one had sung it. It's a very beautiful song. But even if the song isn't your cup of tea it's hard to think that a comeback with LVER as it was originally planned and hinted wouldn't have benefitted clc in their carieers.
As always, absolutely no hate or blame towards iz*one for what occured.

La vie en rose means life in pink or rosy life in French, and it means to make everyone's life into a rosy life. The song was to hopefully deliver the heart of meeting fans and shining their passion to be on stage. The “red rose” symbolises the stage and the love towards their fans.
You can see that when Hyewon sings “ Sangsanghaebwa neoya La Vie En Rose” which means “ Imagine it as your happy (rosy) life” and when Wonyoung sings “ This is my La Vie En Rose “ which means “ This is my happy (rosy) life “ just like what La Vie En Rose meant.
The song was also supposed to give a happy vibe to IZ*ONE members new life as an idol and they wanted to share the “life” with their fans too.
CLC:
Their song was supposed to express the confidence of someone who cannot be expressed through one colour. The first line said that the dress was red and made her red, and that means the dress gave her confidence, just like how CLC mentioned it.
In both versions, there was a line saying “I don’t wanna make it blue”, and roses are red, so that means “Rose” was the confidence from the colour red and the blue means sadness, so the song was supposed to give joy to the fans who listen to the song. Also at 0:46 the line “Your deep eyes make my heart burning red and makes me wanna dance” means that the person gave them confidence and made them dance.
Conclusion:
Overall CLC’s version of the song was more mature and gave a great message of happiness to their fans with their song. On the contrary, IZ*ONE’s “debut” song gave the members passion to finally be achieving their dream to perform and hopes their fans will real their dreams too.

honestly i like clc's version more. iz*one did amazing, but i think clc did it justice. it might just be because iz*one members were young at that time, so ofc were less experienced. when i first heard la vie en rose by izone, i didnt like it. i didnt know at that time that the song originally was meant for clc. but when i heard this demo, i fell in love with it. especially it would have definitely joined my playlist if the pitch drop in the beginning made it into the real song. also, i hope iz*one for a bright future!!

Im a part of both fandoms and i honestly prefer IZ*ONE's version more (probably because I prefer softer vocals) but I hope that CUBE's unfair act towards CLC will stop and not cause any fanwars between the two groups.
