If the Ukraine war tells us anything, the Soviets and their reluctant allies in the 70's would be hard-pressed to put together anything resembling a competent offensive. Never served in the armed forces, but from what I can tell your Soviet losses seem within reason. In the early stages of such a conflict the friction of war would affect both sides heavily.
