- I talk about some hypothetical matchups with Khabib, asking the question "When would he have lost?" and how would he do at Welterweight. Overall I think he would retire as the GOAT, but that might not be a popular opinion...
Khabib honestly would be the goat if he defended against prime tony, oliviera, dariush, chandler, dp 2x, gaethje 2x then moving up to welterweight and defeating Leon and Colby

Ngl prime colby would be a pretty even match for prime khabib. I think colby is a good example of how khabib would have looked in welterweight. They have very similar styles its just colby was fighting much bigger and stronger dudes.
Prime colby vs Khabib would be AWESOME. I would really like to see how the all american wrestling pedigree of colby would do in the scrambles against Khabib
@@LoxMMA it would really depend on if khabib could still bully a person who is the same size. If not colby has better striking then khabib.
I think it will be hard but I think khabib has more patience than colby he still untill the 25th minute fight very well so I think he will win by decision
Honestly i think khabib would have beaten volk as well. I know Islam and khabib are different but unlike islam who constantly goes for submissions and is always looking for finishes khabib is happy to just lay on you and make you suffer. I think he would have beaten volk by decision. I think the reason islam kind of struggled is because he was trying to submit volk, whereas khabib would have been happy to just lay on top of him and keep him down. Considering the amount control time islam had against volk i think khabib probably would have won based on control time. Also, khabibs chin is much better than islams and same with his cardio so i dont think he'd get dropped by volk or gas out like islam either.

@@LoxMMA honestly it's hard to say. Unless khabib stayed past 35 I highly doubt he would have lost at lightweight. If he moved up I honestly think he could've lost to guys like Usman or shavkat but until I see Islam move up I can't really say for sure how he'd do at ww. I think he'd definitely beat Colby tho considering how Colby did against RDA.

@@LoxMMA I think he'll remain undefeated at LW. If a dehydrated Islam was able to lay on Volk for 8 minutes and take him down multiple times, there is no way he's finding success against Khabib defending on the ground. And as we've seen Khabib have no problem against volume strikers before, its unlikely Volk finds much success on the feet either. He might get a round or two max, but Khabib has enough grit and IQ to keep the guy on the ground for the rest. Though a small chance, I can see him get a finish via ground and pound too, but since Volk doesn't have a neck he's definitely not submitting him.
He'll probably have trouble at WW with Usman, combined with his age, but I just can't see him losing to Colby or Shavkat. Maybe someone like Khamzat can overwhelm him as well. But if i had to put my money on him losing, I'm putting it on prime Kamaru.
@@alecsbizarrememes7862 Kamaru is massively underrated by the fans. I think he would’ve beaten Khabib as well. Usman was just a different beast at 170. In his prime I don’t see a lot of people beating him

I think Charles loses but wins the first two rounds pretty dominantly until khabib finds a take down eventually and proceeds to smesh. Who knows maybe Charles lands a flying knee while khabib goes for a take down. 🤷♂️

@@frenzy7666 Volkanovski would be a top 3 GOAT for sure. His resume at 145, and then winning the belt at the most difficult weight class against Khabib or Islam would’ve been legendary. Really wish he didn’t take that short notice fight vs Makhachev or Topuria. I worry he’s ruined his career….☹️

the most realisitic thing which would happen is Khabib defending his LW title against charles and moving up thats it, i can see a possibility of him defending it against chandler one more time but dude i dont think he wanted that weight cut one mor time, he would hev moved up and taken the belt against Usman....i think he wouldve defeated kaamry by48-47 close fight and then GSP vs Khabib for his first 170lbs title defense. and then he wouldve retired ofcourse.....maybe there would be a colby matchup

Khabib would've beaten Oliveira, Dariush, Tsarukyan and Gamrot. Chandler doesn't even make the list in my eyes. There's nobody for Nurmagomedov at 155 lbs. Moicano, Turner, Ferreira, Green, Klose, Dawson, etc. they're so far behind...Khabib would finish them all in the 1st round.
I said it and i'll say it again: the only guy who would've been able to give Khabib a proper fight at 155 lbs is Gregor Gillespie.

His wrestling is top notch but I guess he just doesn’t want to fight anymore. Skill for skill he was good, no doubt about it, but I don’t think he would’ve touched Khabib tbh. His striking wasn’t anything great and I think the grappling between the 2 would more or less cancel out. I’d go with Khabib beating Gregor in a clear decision IMO
1. Gaethje and Poirier won't get a rematch
2. Volk won't get a win over khabib. He more likely have a chance with islam, but not with khabib in 155. Khabib strenght and relentless style on the ground is on different level with islam's, he'll find a way to submit volk.
3. If khabib move up to WW, colby won't have chance to fight khabib, because khabib won't see enough threat from colby skill. Unless he brings some insulting trash talk about khabib's people, dagestan, family, religion, etc.
I have Charles beating Khabib mainly because Islam stunned Charles with a knockdown which led him to do the arm triangle I have Charles winning by decision and him avoiding Khabib taking him down
Charles Oliveira is an expert at exploiting the mistakes of his opponents…He’s a very interesting stylistic match up for Khabib for sure. Charles would be able to fight Khabib with less fear of the takedown than normal opponents which can definitely play a factor
Oliveira couldn't do it with Tsarukyan. He's not doing anything to a prime Khabib.
Olivera is one of my favorite fighters but I think kbabib woumd catch him ,squeeze him make him loss his energy in wrestling then submit him

Khabib's grappling style is much more oppressive than Islam. Khabib g&p's, and that gasses ppl out. I don't know if volk would be able to keep it up after 2 or 3 takedowns. Vs Islam he did well on the ground because islam didnt do any g&p
I don’t know who started this narrative that John Jones beat up a bunch of old guys when he was on the come up because he was 2324 fighting guys that were 32. That’s not old. That’s literally your prime and he was fighting people that used to fight a heavyweight heavyweight so I’m not trying to hear how people were just because he was taller than them, understand the accusations steroids, but back then people were legally allowed to take testosterone replacement therapy, which is basically the same thing so basically everybody was on steroids

I think it’s important to take the nostalgia goggles off and truly compare them neutrally
While I think Khabib has slightly better grappling and IQ, I think Islam is a better striker by far, has better defensive techniques and seems to understand pace and positioning better

@@hailarwotanaz5848islam is more well rounded however khabibs grappling is way better. In a fight against islam khabib probably wins 7 times out of 10. His grappling is simply too good that it negates the advantage Islam has on the feet because they wont be there for long. I dont see how volk would beat him either.

It really depends on how much you value the dominance vs resume argument. No one was ever as dominant as Khabib, but there were fighters who had better resumes. He's in my top 5 in the GOAT list for sure
