  • The Trial By Franz Kafka: Analysis -- Joseph K. is on trial for some unspecified crime, but Kafka's novel exposes the absurd ways in which all life is a nonstop trial. The day before Joseph K.'s thirty first birthday, two men arrive at his apartment and lead him outside, where they stab him to death, killing him ' Like A Dog '. Herman Hesse after reading Max Brod's version in 1925, says that The Trial is non other than the guilt of life itself. Kafka's fundamental principle is pity for mankind that finds it so hard a task to do what is right. The Hero is a Lonely Man. The autobiographical approach characterizes Kafka's work as merely the enactment of a struggle with his character.
