Edifier S1000W | Speaker with Spotify Connect and AirPlay | Price tip from Stiftung Warentest

The media is full of Bluetooth speakers that you can take to the park and that can offer a full sound volume in a compact package. What is somewhat forgotten, and I am well aware that many Bluetooth speakers can also be paired in stereo mode, is the stereo speaker that is used in the home for classically good stereo sound. If you're my age, you only know stereo from the past, because the stereo systems of that time didn't get their name for nothing. But the great thing is that some manufacturers have now brought these stereo speakers into the modern world. One of these is Edifier, which equips its S1000W stereo speakers with both Bluetooth and WLAN. Of course, this brings some advantages, because Amazon's Alexa (not as an input device, but as a target), as well as Spotify Conner and some other services can be used directly on the speaker. But the classic connections are not neglected either. Optical, coaxial and line-in input are possible. However, the device lacks an HDMI input for ARC. There is also a rather classic remote control, which I really like because you don't always have to pull out your smartphone with the Edifier Home app, but can also change the volume and track.
And there's another rather classic aspect... the weight is quite a lot, just like my grandpa's speakers back then... the pair of speakers weighs 16.4 kilograms.
The price, on the other hand, is rather low, as you can get the pair for just under 350 euros. This price, combined with an obviously good sound, earned the S1000W a good rating and the price tip in the Stiftung Warentest test. The sound in particular is said to be able to keep up with the larger and more expensive brands. Sidenote: Sonos Era 100 as well as Apple HomePod and Alexa Echo were clearly relegated to second place.
But Stiftung Warentest is Stiftung Warentest, so let's take a quick look at the S1000W independently and I'll give you my opinion.
