I just did mine and if you take the upper ball joint castle nut off you dont need to take the upper control arm off and then you dont need a spring compressor as well you just push the lower control arm down and the whole spring comes out then when you install the spacer and spring you can get a jack and jack up the lower control arm and compress the spring then put your upper ball joint back in and tighten castle nut and then release the jack and your all ready to put the tie rod end link and your sway bar
but before you jack up the lower control arm make sure your sway bar end link is lined up with the sway bar hole or you wont get it back in not unless you loosen the bottom bolt but its easier to just line it up before you jack it up
DO NOT HIT THE TIE ROD END FROM THE BOTTOM......ALWAYS FROM THE SIDE
Haha no don't hit the tie rod from the side either hit the knuckle or hit it from the bottom on tie rod ends like this that's what that extra length is for. just don't miss
Glad dodge provided us 02-08 owners a beer holder next to the a arm! Lmao 🤣
The problem with doing spacer on coils is its bouncy. only way to fix it on a dodge is longer shocks or shock extenders and bump stops for the upper control arm but without all that the ride is bearable sorta
can you post a picture of the kit you installed
I'm willing to bet if you didn't also get the extended struts every time your check bounces up it bottoms out and makes a god-awful bang sound
there is a rubber ring on top of the spring do you remove it or leave on the spacer
When you leveled you 2wd were the spacers meant specifically for 2wd drive trucks? or would a 4wd spacer work on a 2wd?
Where do I need to put the jacks to release all the tension on the sway bar because mine shop up when I loosened it😭
Dude you skipped the springs compressing part. that was hell for me. so hard
I found a faster way to compress the spring evenly.. you just need to put the compressor inside the spring.
I have a 1500 megacab 2wd 5.7 gasket and I'm just gonna use 3 inch lift coils for the 5.9 diesel instead of spacers. I need new coils anyways. Any tips?
Hey brother, have you done the coils on your truck yet? I’m asking cause I’m thinking of leveling mine and have doubts about ball joints being out of geometry
I have a 2004 dodge ram 2500 2wd. I want to do the 2" just like you did. I believe its the same procedure and the same kit for that matter. I just would like to if you had to get a front end alignment done after the install or if the alignment was affected at all? Thanks.
Yes, I always recommend an alignment after any suspension modification. Thanks for watching!
Thing is 2ich lift on a 2wd is really hard to align correctly that's what I've been hearing I have an 05 5.9 dually
Did u ever install the kit if so what kit n was it worth it looking to do the same on my 04 2500
hi dr diesel , I just installed a 2.5 inch leveling kit on my 2006 dodge 2500 cummins 2wd looks exactly like the one you are installing on this video, so i believe the 1500 and the 2500 share the same front suspension , and changed the shock to a hydraulic skyjacker 7000 , the truck looks awsome , but drives like hell , bounces everywhere very hard , it seems like the upper control arm it has not much space between where the coil spacer rest . now when we installed the leveling kit in top of the spring and then we added the little plastic mount on top that had the spring when we removed it . what should i do now ?? please help !!
Hows the ride now? Like is it really stiff?
Kyle this leveling kit will not work on 4x4 trucks. Only 2wd
okay thanks! i got an 09 2500 regular cab. Just off of your opinion would a 2.5in be too much?
grab one off eBay 2.5" is perfect. I would suggest bilstein shocks to go along with it but stock shocks might be long enough
Did you have to put bigger shocks?
2 inch leveling kit??
Is this the same process for a 2004 2 wheel drive and did you install new shocks
It worked with stock shocks? Everything I've read says longer shocks are required or else the Upper Control Arm knocks the spring bucket & makes for a terrible ride.
My shocks are a little longer than stock, but yes the control arm will hit the shock tower with stock shocks. Adjusting the LCA cam bolts can help make more room, but don't recommend touching them.
Did you need bigger shocks? For leveling kit, or worked good with stock shocks?
Could some link me a kit for a 2WD 2017 RAM 1500, I have no idea where. The ones on amazon all say 4WD
This kit may work for you. Thanks for watching!

Can I just use shackles to lower my 07 2wd
How long did that take
What material is your coil spacer? Metal or polyurethane ? What order did you install the spacer, coil spring, coil insulator then the spacer. Or coil spring , coil spacer then the coil insulator?
Polyurethane. No insulator. Just spacer on top of the coil then install as a single unit.
Did your tires look like some positive camber was added? I installed the 1.5" version on my '07 2wd and now my front tires look like there is some positive camber but I'm having a tough time finding info if the camber is adjustable on the 06+ 3rd. Did you get an alignment after the install?
+Emmerson Paragon Definitely recommend an alignment. A lot of suspension geometry is changing.
Please don't make anymore how to videos
After what you said, I decided to stop making those videos and re-branded my channel for drag racing, road course and autocross events. Hope you like it! Let me know if you have any other suggestions!
Did you have problems with the upper control arm hitting where the top of the spring seats in? Someone on a forum said they did. But idk what the differences would be between 06 and 08.
That's what happens without longer shocks, but the best method is upgraded upper control arms to create enough clearance from the shock tower. Stock shocks and a spacer will probably hit
Do you need shock extensions or do the front shocks fit right
Longer shocks are recommended. Bilstein's website has a great tool for finding correct shocks based on suspension lift.
where did you find a 2.5" kit? all I can find on the daystar website is a 1" and a 1.5"
also could you provide a list of tools that were necessary for install? could it be done by the average joe working in his garage on the weekend?
4 wheel parts in AZ was where I found mine. Metric sockets, pry bar, and spring compressor should be all you need besides jacks/stands.
cool thanks! im looking into leveling mine but i dont wanna pay a shop to do it for me so this video was extremely helpful! gives me an idea of what ill be getting myself into.
where did ypu buy that leveling kit and how much you paid for it???
i want the same for my 2003 1500 2wd
thanx
I thoight that with even with a 2" spacer the upper control arm smacks the spring bucket? Is that true
Depends on steering geometry. If everything is in factory positions, then you should be fine.
So with a 2" spacer I'll be alright on my 06 same like yours has the big upper control arms
.also where did u buy your spacers from? Do I also need longer shocks
4Wheel Parts sells spacers along with other distributors. Longer shocks are recommended. Bilstein has a great site that tells you which shocks to buy based on lift or level modifications. Thanks!
Lol 4 wheel parts told.me not to go above 1.5 cause my upper control will smack my spring bucket on every little bump I hit
They are playing it safe which is fine. Longer shocks create more room. Safest bet is 1.5" or lower
Daystar part number?
What if I need a 2 1/2 " lift? Is your 2.25 the tallest from daystar? I have the same truck.
Speak louder next time plz
Helped me out man thanks, I didn't have to take off the caliper on mine. AND ORIELLYS LENDS YOU THE SAME SPRING COMPRESSER FOR FREE
thank you for that info, much appreciated :)
