  • The session features the launch of the GAP for EPR Policy Paper “Extended Producer Responsibility: Basic Facts and Key Principles”! The paper was developed under the framework of the GAP for EPR with contributions from OECD, GIZ, WWF, UNEP and the Ellen MacArthur Foundation. It provides policymakers with a synthesis of the current implementing experience with the EPR policy approach.
In this session, you will also gain insights into recent EPR related developments by focusing on specific country examples. In a panel discussion, representatives from selected countries will share and discuss their experiences with implementing EPR and with its contribution to strengthen material circularity in their countries. They will highlight their key strategies to overcome the challenges that they have been facing.
Furthermore, the session will introduce the Global Action Partnership (GAP) for EPR to interested stakeholders worldwide and will identify opportunities for accelerating EPR systems that the GAP for EPR can provide. This event is an accelerator session at the World Circular Economy Forum 2024 (WCEF 2024).
Organisers: Global Action Partnership for Extended Producer Responsibility, GIZ, WWF, and OECD - hosted by the PREVENT Waste Alliance and in collaboration with UNEP and Ellen MacArthur Foundation.
