@Polonized Yes. That's probably the main reason why he says "OK": To communicate that the musicians had set their instruments. Especially considering that they used mostly analog instruments at that time.
@Polonized I love the random stuff Ralf says during some 1981 concerts. In the Italy concerts he sings "Nous sommes les mannequins, nous sommes les mannequins, say it!" after the glass breaks. That's pretty cool, he stopped doing it later. He also says "Und Wechsel (and change)" before the Japanese ichi-ni-san-shi counting starts during Numbers. In Bologna he says a lot of stuff while tuning, "What's going in Bologna?" and "Do you have a piece of tape? Another piece of tape? Everything's flying away here" and he even says "soccer" at one time and I have no idea what the context was. It's just fun and interesting to hear him talk so much between songs. In Berlin after Das Modell he says "Pretty hot in here" and people start laughing. In München before Heimcomputer he says "We've never played in Munich before". In Liverpool 2nd concert he says "No need to worry, we are here". In Nottingham he says "Why don't you dance?". In London Hammersmith, 2nd concert he says "This is our final day in England". In Tokyo Shibuya he says "The next song is for dancing" before Autobahn. He also often says "Wir müssen einen Zacken zulegen". "We need to speed things up". Those are just a few I remember.
Yep, COPtv recreated what the song could've sounded like if they had played it live in 1981. I love those "what if" song recreations. 1981 had a fantastic set list, but some of the best 1976 songs like Airwaves and Europe Endless were sadly missing. Kraftwerk played Airwaves live in 1976 and again many years later in a slow ambient version in 1997-2003. Finally, the song came back in a really great version in 2012. In my opinion it is one of the highlights of the modern 3D concerts.
@@virtualboeingpilot8676 My favourite performances of Airwaves are: 1976-09-11 Paradiso, Amsterdam, The Netherlands 1976-10-02 Palais des Expositions, Geneva, Switzerland 1998-06-04 Akasaka Blitz, Tokyo, Japan 2013-10-17 Evoluon, Eindhoven, The Netherlands Those are absolutely beautiful and a joy to hear. I wish I could show you those recordings for contrast. Well, if I'm being honest, in 2023 Ralf doesn't have the voice strength anymore that he had when he was younger. The rendition of Airwaves played in 2022 and 2023 has been shortened and slowed down considerably and it isn't comparable anymore to earlier performances. As for Tango, I never liked it. I was excited that they brought it back in 2022 because we hadn't heard that song in 20 years, but it honestly isn't that great of a song. I never liked this generic techno thing with the thumping bass that much, it gets old quickly.
Ralf: OK
People : Wooooooww!!!!!!!😅
Great rendition

A few days ago I heard this song live in Buenos Aires, this one is from 42 years ago, my God!
Actually, they didn't play it live in 1981. The song was released in 1975 and that video shows how would sound in a live performance in 1981.

@@FuchsfeinNeither "Airwaves" nor "Tango" sounded that great live (to me at least) when I witnessed the show in Genova last month.

Great rendition! Nice that you included all the idiosyncrasies of the 1981 tour sound.
the clicky and metallic sounds are spot on. I don't know much about 1981 Kraftwerk, but this is really accurate.
I was there on both nights
Ventimiglia. Presente. Italy. Ingegneristico. Arte. Elektron.
Airwaves! Just imagine Tango in ‘91! This reminds me of the 3D version of Antenna. It’s better than the original and also has a fast drum beat.
I was there !!! oh my god !!!
Joke?
@@kraftwerklover69 nope … I was a fresh faced 18 …
thanks!
Europe endless 😊
As someone who lives in Hammersmith, thank you.

Omg! Did You play this live? It would be Nice to see a video of it🤩🤌
This song wasn't played live. It is a concept reconstruction, but I have plans to play. Maybe in the next year.
@@coptv Ah alright! I loved this☢️📻📡
