Very few within the industry has the knowledge and capability to rescue a manufacturer much less the average Joe out in the public!!! It will be a flaming disaster if you don't know what you are doing!!!

That would be cool to keep the brand going! Would love to be a part of that! But just retired last year and don't have any money like that available! Great idea as long they don't screw you over! Best of luck!!

Couldn’t agree more, I would add a small truck as people NEED a 22-25k truck. Make them all the same, 4x4 or 2wd, auto or manual…2 choices maybe give a light or dark interior choice? That’s it.

Easy - better parts and suppliers (meaning not LCC), and take care of warranty customers who do have issues with ample parts and good, quick service. In short, maybe slightly less profit in order to fund doing things the right way. Which should lead to more sales and profit in the long term.

If you are going to bring back Plymouth, It should have its halo car, the Cuda, A compact, the Neon, the offroad competitor, the Trailduster, and its crossover, the PT Cruiser. Keep options minimal yet modular, manufacturing will be easy and aftermarkets will create their own custom parts for the customers. Plymouth never had a truck. If you want Dodge to bring back the trucks, revive the D and W series nameplates. RAM never owned those nameplates. Chrysler should be luxury brand with high power options.

My #1 concern by far would be having to deal with the UAW. Unions served their purpose and are now nothing but burdens on the industry due to the corruption of their leadership. A former GM of General Motors once lamented that his job was no longer about cars but was more about benefits administration for employees.

  • @syrmatt
    @syrmatt Місяць тому +3

Private is the only way to do it especially if cutting out dealers is a primary goal. Tavares will still want a King’s ransom for Chrysler-Dodge. As for Ram, going back in time and calling them Dodge Trucks could get around any licensing/naming issues. Pushing out the UAW is another matter.

Love the idea of buying back Dodge and Chrysler would love to see the Chrysler 300 brought back within modern update but I would definitely bring back the 5.7 hemi for the people that can't afford the insurance on higher hemi's and scat packs at least the 5.7 gives a chance of owning a hemi to be a part of the brotherhood love cars and SUVs Dodge/Chrysler but couldn't afford a scat pack car/ payments. And filling up the tank and insurance

Also get the American Motors name as the name of the new company, and buy all naming rights for Chrysler, Dodge, Plymouth, Eagle, and see if GM will sell you Pontiac, Oldsmobile. Cutless 442. GTO. Trans am, Grand Prix. Delta 88,98.

First making Jeep a luxury brand will only go so far and will probably lose the tradition and the purest of the Jeep following. Meaning not everyone will be able to spend $70,000 plus to buy a Jeep and will the high end market of buyers support Jeep being a luxury brand to buy. It not a Denali, Cadillac, Lincoln, Mercedes, Range Rover, etc., it a Jeep in the end.
I do like the Tesla route, and being able to own a piece of the Mopar brands, whatever they may be, I have loved for most of my life.
This is a very interesting possibility and would like to see where this may be able to go.
Please keep this information coming as you get more insight on this.

A CoOp company would happen in fantasyland..
If anything IMO Chrysler would probably be wounded down if no new product is added and Plymouth revived, of course if Carlos doesn't get fired first...

  • @rogerrussell9544

But as much of the Chrysler division as possible. They may want Jeep, but the brand is destroyed since they don't understand our mindset on Jeeps. AMC can be revived and Plymouth with models like the Caravan and Neon. A real Hornet and another Neon would compete with the Mazda 3.

It'll be easy to bring it back rep wise, problem is .. where are we going to build them? How many factories are needed, are we going to in this environment to get suppliers to work with us .. we probably couldn't get 6 - 9 term's .. the big 3 have always been awful payers so wed need revolving lines of credit, workers are needed and want to make as much as the UAW .. look at history..starting a car company or any company of that size up & running without a few billion line of credit.. best to buy brands and factories.. and it's not a premium brand so you'll have to offer base models to sell .. they bring in money to build the high dollar cars .. licensing of names, rights to history of names etc .. we need Elon in on this

Dodge needs to drop the over priced Hornet, bring back an updated, reasonably priced Journey and a mid priced mini van. Chrysler needs need an upscale SUV and a full size sedan. The Hornet is such a screwup. It needs to be in a price range to complete with the Ford Escape and Chevrolet Equinox.
