  • Every year, thousands of people lose their lives in the Mediterranean Sea, sadly known to be the deadliest migration route in the world.
Although helping people in distress at sea is a legal obligation, European governments have chosen to abandon their responsibilities. How and why does Médecins Sans Frontières rescue people in the Central Mediterranean route? Learn all about it in this animated video.
Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) is an international, independent, medical humanitarian organisation that delivers emergency aid to people affected by armed conflict, epidemics, natural disasters and exclusion from healthcare.

😢 The extent of callousness on the part of those governments who refuse to act humanely is beyond measure. Treating NGOs in a hostile manner is appalling. A similar situation exists here in Britain, where the RNLI rescue charity is under serious criticism from rightwing extremists, because it acts in the English Channel on behalf of those in dinghies attempting to reach Britain and safety from persecution.
