Done. It's funny you said that about stop trying to be perfect. I was getting mad cos I was still struggling with the florette but I just need to be patient and practice a little each day. Thanks for the advice 👍🏻⚔️
9 out of 9. I was able to make these motions much smoother this time. I really like to just forget about it and feel the rhythm. It seems to go better than if I think about too hard. Thank you Paul!
Done! Thank you for all of the encouragement with this one. Your understanding of how complicated it can be really helped. I DO like your dojo. I like that it is private lol. I'll get outside when I am better 😁
Another sinawali pattern not used a lot is called reverse sinawali, sometimes called upward 6. Instead of chambering like heaven 6, switch your arms where your left hand is at your right shoulder over your right arm. 1) swing your right forearm upwards on a diagonal plane, & place it by your left hip 2) follow that plane with your left backhand & pull it close to your left shoulder, 3) awing your right backhand upwards on a diagonal plane from your left hip up towards your right shoulder but chamber it @ your left shoulder over your left hand. Then repeat the same pattern from your left side. To get the hang of this grab a jump rope & place your hands like I described, swing the the rope upwards & do like figure 8 patterns starting w/ the right hand.
Not trying to divert from the daily challenge, I'll definitely do my part but, me and the lady have been using this drill as a partner drill. We'll stike eachother's sticks with each strike of the heaven six and try to go low or high as well as speed it up. Wayyy easier said than done with a partner however, one of the funnest partner drills we've done so far! Best believe we'll be throwing in the standard six now too~
Hey paul, you can come up with 64 patterns alternating all your high & low strikes. The strikes on the left side don't have to mirror what you did on the right side. Example; 1) strike a right high forehand lobtik strike, 2) a left low backhand lobtik strike, 3) a right low backhand witik strike, then on your left side 4) a left low forehand lobtik strike, 5) right high backhand lobtik strike, 6) & a left low backhand witik strike. There's a 6 count pattern; all you do is keep mixing up your high & low strikes.
Another one down. I'm jealous of your outdoor dojo. I try to practice outside and my neighbors won't leave me alone long enough to really train anything.
O man I love this. Training @ Lake Shasta. Best Dojo you can have. I can only do half so not done. In work. I’m going back through the last week and trying to keep up. Thank you for all this. 🥋
Goodmorning Paul, Glad to see you on this fine California Monday morning. I wanted to be the first one to comment. Another great video to train by. Keep them coming Paul.
Hello sir, first thank you so much for your enormous efforts amd guidance. Is there angle 3 and 4 in standard 6 or simply they are broken upward strikes?
Hi i hope you read this..... You often do swords Drill with 2 ginunting... Is it possible to use keris/kris swords instead? I ask because they are Double edged...
@@kalicenter so i can just use it like you use your bolo? Even if its Double edged? Or are the forms and drills and stance different for a Double edged?
@@kalicenter Hey...when are you going to do a video of all your fastest drills speeds...for fun, only! Let's watch "Helicopter Paulie"! You could slow it down and see how many strikes you do in 60 seconds! Yeeehaaaa!
I think I’ll quit my day job....do this all day every day. Great stuff Paul.
😂 I know that feeling!

Thanks Paul! Feels weird to do this alone, I'm so used to it being a 2 person drill.

Hi i hope you read this..... You often do swords Drill with 2 ginunting... Is it possible to use keris/kris swords instead? I ask because they are Double edged...
Sure it is. I don’t use a kris. I use a bolo with an intended design.

Who invited the wind? :)
I may have caused it due to the training I was doing just before filming the video. 🤷🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️🤺😂
