Thank you so much for doing this…what a keepsake from a favorite, old roller coaster 🎢! Have been visiting SDC since 1965 and FITH became an instant favorite when it was built! I appreciate your time and effort on this video! Now I’m going to be watching for you all over the park! ❤
Awww thank you for the kind words! I was thankful to be able to work the original FITH in its last year and I am even more thankful that I am getting the opportunity to work the brand new FITH this year!
wow! thank you for documenting such a cool ride!
You’re welcome! I wanted to help those remember the original even with the new ride up and running.
This is brilliant and many thanks. In December you helped us evacuate the ride when it had a fault, sent us out the exit door at 4:42 through the maintenance area. We were gutted to not finish the ride, but thrilled to see a bit of the behind the scenes areas. Many thanks!
Amazing video thank you so much! I was going through all of this fire in the hole content before riding the new one this Sunday and was like I KNOW HER! Been watching some of your other videos and it’s really cool to see someone familiar with a UA-cam channel like this, def subbing!
Thank you!
Have fun!
Wow that's interesting to see what it looks like with the lights on, thanks for filming this before they tear it down! I'm kind of a nerd so I've always wanted to see the back end stuff like the control panel and maintenance garage, not sure if you're allowed to film those, but it's fascinating how all this works especially being so old
Thank you for watching! I unfortunately didn’t film that much of the behind the scenes. I believe a few people that came to the ACE Coaster Christmas got some pictures you might check on social media for those.
@@T_CVlogs_More I will look for that, thanks!
@@joshuareynolds5219 you’re welcome!
❤❤❤❤ I loved the original it was my most favorite ride 😢
I loved the original! There’s so many memories
I first rode this as a kid, then finally experienced it again sometime before the end of last year. I sat in the very back with my friend, and I seriously felt like I was gonna be thrown out of my seat in the drops 😆 I love the new one, and I'll have to look for you when I come back! Thankfully I have a season pass!
I loved the airtime factor that the old one had and I’m so happy you like the new one! Most certainly come say hi if you see me!
@@T_CVlogs_More For sure! Which days are you normally there?
@YTPewp I’m there just about every day. It kinda depends
@@T_CVlogs_More Alright. I'm planning on coming back in a week or 2!
I should be there
I'm so happy you documented what this coaster looked like with the lights on! Thank you so much! ❤🔥
You’re so very welcome!
@@T_CVlogs_More I'm making a RollerCoaster Tycoon 3 recreation so this is a really helpful reference!
@@Wilhelm1407Coasters that’s awesome! If I was more creative I’d make one on Planet Coaster
@@T_CVlogs_More I had started one a while ago but I only built part of the layout none of the scenery. I'm just very partial to rct3 lol I have some really nice mods that should work well too.
We had a friend called "Czar" that worked in Fire in the Hole. I wish I knew his given name. He came to our Bachelor and Bachelorette party.
I’ve heard stories of him
I remember the bridge made a loud creepy noise that freaked me out as a kid
I wish I could’ve heard it on the old ride but the new ride now has a “falling” bridge that does make a crashing sound
Correct me if I’m wrong but I believe at 3:53 you can see the old track above that had the scenes removed back in the 80s
Edit: and I believe at 5:39 you can see where the wall was covered up after they removed the track.
Fire in the Hole is basically a big circle and the whole track is more or less stacked on top of each other. As you go through the ride, you are gradually going up. After the burning bridge scene the track originally went right which would eventually lead to the unused tracks I mentioned earlier.
The tracks were removed in the 80s to increase ride capacity and some scenes were moved such as the bald knobber attempting to dump a barrel on riders. Some scenes were removed completely such as a group of bald knobbers having a conversation and a pair of broken tracks that gave the illusion that the riders were heading off the cliff.
At 5:39 I believe that is just just a different coloring of concrete wall.
@@T_CVlogs_More That actually is about where the track reconnected before it was shortened.
That really interesting to know here the turn was I knew about all the other removed parts what was on the track that turned right like I wonder what scenes.
@@T_CVlogs_More nope, that's where the train made the turn, it went through the Baldknobber camp, and then it was the "tracks out ahead" scene, that was done very well.
The new one comes out you should ride it
I’ve ridden it a bunch and love it! The old one still holds a special place in my heart though
Did you know after the first drop the track actually turned right originally
I actually didn’t know that.
I always wanted to see what fire in the hole look like behind the scenes thank you
Do they know what they're going to do with fire in the hole?
@@jacob2843I’m not sure yet
I rode this in the 80's, 90's, and early 2000. I heard they were removing the ride forever? Is this true or is it getting fixed up? If it's going away forever, I'll be sad.
So the original Fire in the hole is closed but we have a brand new version coming to the park this spring and it’s built by the same manufacturer as Outlaw Run!
hi i seen you working in wildfire
Yes!! That was one of the many rides I’ve worked! I’ve now found the spot I enjoy the most which is Fire in the Hole!
LOBOTOMY
I have no clue what you commented but it’s ok because thanks to your comment my video is still getting pushed out to more viewers
@@T_CVlogs_MoreHe is referring to the Geometry Dash meme
Oh my gosh I've seen you so many times working wildfire and fire in the hole, guys she probably one off the hardest working employees at SDC Thanks for the video.
Thank you 😊
@@T_CVlogs_More I going this spring break so I'm excited to try the new one
@@tsstudios7943hey!! It was good to see you at the park!
@@T_CVlogs_More I think I saw you very early in the morning, right as this section of the park opened. You were so sweet, and we had "skip" tickets to ride the new version. You were amazing, and it was so awesome to see you again!
@@grav_i_ty aww thank you 😊
To increase rider capacity a large section of track was removed in 1982. After the first dip (Collapsing Bridge) the ride would turn right and later reconnect in front of the second one (Train Collision). At the scene where the cabin was burning, there was a moon and some stars above one of the old track areas. Also, at the sign for “Kinney Bridge”, to rider's left was a large open area where scenes once existed.
I will say I did leave it out but the moon and stars were actually still there! You could see them if you look up on the left hand side when the ride first started
It’s still crazy to me that over the last decade or so we have gotten several lights on walkthroughs of blazing fury but had to wait till the ride closed down to get a real lights on walkthrough of fire in the hole. Thanks so much for this
I agree 100% I had to wait to make sure I’d have the permission to share but I’m glad I could get this video to everyone!
She works at sdc
I don't know if you remember but 9 21 24 fire in the hole (new one) broke down and people were running up the stairs but me and my dad were in that line it was gonna be our last ride before wildfire but i remember seeing you (dont worry me and my dad got to to on it 9 22 24 the first ride as we day the next day)
I might have and I’m so happy you guys still got to enjoy the ride!
This is AMAZING! Thank you so much for sharing ♥️ Is there any footage from the end of the video to the end of the ride?
I had some footage of the splashdown area but chose not to include that just Incase it shows more than they’d like it to, also the lighting was not very good at all
This is the Coolest video EVER of this ride! 😁👍🏻 I got to see Space Mountain in DW yrs ago like this. 👍🏻😁
Thank you! I made this video mainly to keep the memories alive for me after working the ride for a year and a half but I wanted to share it with you all as well
Thanks for sharing the footage! I was there on the final day of this past season and I'm pretty sure I saw you working! It's neat to be able to see a lights-on view of this ride from a new perspective. Also, in the video when the camera briefly dips down, are you tripping proximity sensors or some kind of switch in order to activate the effects like the train headlight and the "barrel of laughs" scene?
Yes there was a switch I could trip with my foot to activate the “barrel of laughs” guy and and a magnet type sensor to trigger the train light
In the workshop there's actually a track layout of the entire ride they actually painted over the old track where it turned right
I’ve seen it quite a lot just a little confusing to look at sometimes.
I live in the area and use to take my kids to SDC at least six times per year. This was back in the 70s & 80s. At that time, Fire in the Hole was probably the wildest ride there. If you got there early enough, you could keep riding it over and over with no line until they started getting busy. One time, there was some kind of a mechanical malfunction right in the middle of the ride. It just stopped and the lights came on. A worker came and escorted us out. There are hidden exit doors throughout the building. It's still my favorite ride. I wish they could make it longer.
right at the 5:38 mark, you can see the wall they built for where the original track used to turn right after the bridge! I can't wait to see that scene back in the new version of the ride! it was a favorite part of the ride for me while growing up!
3:21 I always felt like he should have dropped water or something.
I have a distinct memory of the barrel of laughs guy dumping water just wish I could remember when they took the water out.
@@T_CVlogs_More I’ll have to ask my dad, went when I was young (born in 93) and don’t recall the water. I saw another comment somewhere that the track used to go another way, or was extended but they took out the track and put a curtain up instead.
Kind of sounds like a rocket going off
That would be cool to at least experience
I enjoyed working this ride as an intern last summer, I didn't get to see the whole ride with the lights on, just Areas 6-7 and 12 from an evac. I'm sad that I had to cut my internship short for family issues but it was a pleasure meeting and working with the Fire in the Hole and Wildfire crews! I got to experience the new Fire in the Hole yesterday and am glad the classic will live on in its new form, my name's even on the list of volunteers.
I enjoyed working with you as well! I’m pretty sure I know who this is!
Wow! I never knew that last drop was that small with all the lights on. With those lights off, it's feels alot bigger!
The 3 minute mark that is actually before another ride scene that we still went into.
FIRE IN THE HOLE🗣️🗣️🗣️🔥🔥🔥
Gd
Did anyone else experience trying to do inspection? Spotted some ladders, but no phones or fire extinguishers to check...did all the doors work? basketball court? Just me? okay...
Hi Angie!!
I'm from the UK, I've been following the construction of the new 'Fire in the Hole', is the new one basically the same as the original, but with more modern features or is it now more of a Roller-coaster
Yes the new one is very similar to the original with a modern touch! Check out the ride POV on my channel for a more in depth look and keep the questions coming in
Thank you so much for posting this! My wife and I are there all the time in the warmer months and this was always a favorite of ours. I’ve always wanted to see a walk-through and I’m so glad I finally get to!
Glad you enjoyed it!
loved it,,, thanks for sharing
Glad you enjoyed it! Thank you for watching
Are you by chance working the new fire in the hole?
Yes I will be!!!!
@@T_CVlogs_More omg!!! I am so excited to ride this spring, have the best time opening such a great ride!
Thank you for posting! I’ve always wanted to see this ride lights on
No problem! I wanted to share this because I know many people have memories with this ride!
Way cool thanks
Glad you liked it! I loved making the video!
as a former ride operator at two southern california theme parks, i love videos like this, though in the intro all you had to say was this was an officially sanctioned walkthrough provided by the park, and it will be obvious to most that you had permission and the parks blessing to be in the track area with the lights on and film it
I mainly did that intro to cover my butt so I wouldn’t get in trouble just Incase. While I did have permission to upload this I always try to be more safe than sorry
@@T_CVlogs_More i understand, was just thinking of a more concise way to say it, also I know that anytime a park allows the public into track areas the ride is 9 times out of 10 shut down
@@geekmoto1363 in most cases yes because we’re probably doing an evacuation but this was a walkthrough inspection before that last time we opened
Your one of the best operators there always friendly and helpful I allways look for you
Thank you! This means a lot. I’m there quite often even if I’m not working
@@T_CVlogs_More I hate how they did not keep the same ride soundtrack but it’s a cool new ride
@@zacharyisenberg8181 the only thing that I’ve noticed is pretty close the same is the music from the saloon. You’ve got to listen really carefully after you hear “Patches I’m gonna tan your hide” and you’ll hear the saloon music
@@T_CVlogs_More overall I love the ride I was just a huge fan of the old one but it’s great the new ride system I hope silver dollar city gives you the credit you deserve always happy and friendly and fast your a stand out employee
@@zacharyisenberg8181 thank you 😊
Do you have demolition footage? Curious what will be going in the spot.
I don’t. The building is actually still standing currently but there is a fence around it
@@T_CVlogs_More Interesting. I'm curious why they didn't pull a Knobles Black Diamond knowing the problems were with the building, not the ride inside. I will be curious to see the demolition though.
While the building was part of the problem we also experienced a lot of maintenance downtime with the ride
@@T_CVlogs_More If I had to speculate I'd also guess most of that cost is the building and show scenes, with the ride system part of a package with a new coaster (ie Raptor or T-Rex) within 5 years or maintainance that was done on Outlaw Run. Won't know for a while.
Thank you!
You're welcome!
Hehehe Ethan has found your channel. I guess I’ll give my cents. Great video and documentation. The new ride is gonna be fire. Me and Caleb gonna ride the crap out of it
What did you guys think of the new ride?
@@T_CVlogs_More absolutely loved it. The bridge collapsing is awesome and that final 2 sequences makes it all worth it. Great music. And the whole crew was doing there best working on the ride and getting people on and off. Very great job. And I will be seen in that building many more times for years to come lol 😂.
This is awesome!!! That train seemed so real in the dark! That's crazy how simple that is! Thanks
Thank you!! The train in the old ride was just as simple as a light but it made the ride so much more fun!
It's weird that underneath the track is just wood
Kinda
I want to do that so bad
I was an operator on Fire in the Hole so I had the clearance to be in the ride when we’re not running
@@T_CVlogs_More wow
It was a fun experience and I’m glad I was able to share this video with everyone
