You can now e-file Form 941, the Employer's Quarterly Federal Tax Return, right from your ExpressTaxFilings account.
In order to completely e-file your 941 Form, Form 941 must be signed with an Online Signature PIN assigned by the IRS.
There are actually three different ways you can provide a valid e-signature on your 941 Form: one requires you to complete an additional form - Form 8453-EMP.
You can use Form 8453-EMP to sign your Form 941 by selecting the Use Form 8453-EMP on the "Signature" page.
This option is only for those that do not have a PIN.
The first step is to review the completed 8453-EMP Form.
Please view the form and verify that the information is correct.
You will then send Form 8453-EMP to your client.
Send the E-Sign link of 8453-EMP from here - the taxpayer can sign digitally.
They will receive an email with a link to E-Sign.
After the client logs in, they can proceed to "Click to e-sign" and apply their signature. After signing, they must click Submit.
After their submission, the preparer's signature is required next.
Click to sign and apply your signature.
After signing the 8453-EMP, view the updated form and if you need to make a correction you can delete the signed form 8453-EMP.
There's also the option to download the filled 8453-EMP Form and then manually sign the form.
