Stefano, we share a love of photography, but your videos are about much more. You respect and reverence for nature and your joy of exploring and being out there are a joy to see. Keep being you👍👍👍
Calm and peacefull. Well done not disturbing the owl and putting the photos to “ O Come All Ye Faithful”. When I leave a subject I always thank them for the opportunity.
The distraction is the story of my life too. Can't even watch a movie at this point. I find Saw-whet owls to be a challenge because I can't get used to how small they are. Found a Great Grey last week with a friend. Some can be easy to find in crowded hotspot, but finding your own respectfully is what is really satisfying. That being said, I LOVE your videos. They help me find motivation to go out during these -30 days.
Haha, I agree! I mean I read about their size and have seen photos/videos, but seeing it in real life, they almost look fake for how tiny they are. Congrats on finding the Great Grey! The coldest days are the most peaceful!
Thank you! If it comes up again I can definitely try to! I’m not on social media much so by the time I heard about it in Quebec, it was already gone. Fingers crossed it shows up again and is still healthy!
That is an amazingly beautiful owl! And no need to be sorry about being easily distracted, I see it as a feature which gives us more entertaining content!
I can’t think of a more perfect channel. This with the owls was extra special. I’m in Florida and do see owls but never have I have 2 owls together. Thank you for being the kind of people we need more of in this world. I started with watching you building a pond, now subscribed, and in turn my mood is improved to 100 % happy. Your saw-whet owl was magical.
The American Robin shot is probably favourite shot in the whole video. Seeing you trekking in the snow, photographying birds. While i am stuck in office, making ends meet. After seeing your video, i feel hopeful and blessed to see wild birds in their natural enviroments. Thank you for the great video.
Amazing works. Love your presentation in the field which is not focusing on the gear but the work itself. You are very interesting to me and often would like to be with you there. BRAVO !
Your work is so beautiful! I have insomnia and I feel so peaceful with your photos and stories. I am watching before sleep. Thank you! You're doing great.
What beautiful footage and pictures especially the Saw-whet Owl. Just stunning photos of a cute little owl! I love your passion and how you get distracted by every bird even the common robin!
I know it's been 2 years but I would love to see you do more of this kind of challenge! I'm a birder in Australia so these Canadian birds are so new and exciting for me, love learning about new species!
I've been hard into trying to find a Northern Pygmy or Saw-whet Owl in Calgary for the last three days, and then I see you post this, and I almost got to experience that unicorn moment along with you. Time to double down even more, hahah! What a fantastic video. Cheers!
What to say? Great idea and yes I'd love to see more challenges. Beautiful photography. Always something to learn from your videos. I enjoy info about habitat, how to find birds, behaviour, etc. And great film making. And most importantly your great attitude which makes me want to go out with my camera.
Thanks so much! I'll definitely take that into consideration and add more habitat/field craft information and tips in these challenges. Thanks for watching!
Pretty nice to come across two Horned Owls on your first outing. I'm envious. Great work as always Mr Ianiro, always look forward to your posts, cheers.
OMG, I saw the owl and he's so beautiful! I love his colors. Gorgeous owl.😍❤ the music started and I starting crying. So glad you found the owl. I love animals and adore all birds. Looking forward to your next video.
To be honest I wasn't really expecting you to nail her in the first video. Your first encounter with such a high quality, oohh, crazy. So good. Thanks for sharing.
Absolutely awesome challenge idea and well executed. Squirrel.... Really enjoyed the video. Squirrel.... Really shows how patience and perseverance can be necessary in this hobby. Squirrel.... Soory, couldn't resist. You and Doug from the animation movie Up! have so much in common and that is constantly running through my mind when I watch your videos!!!
That owl is adorable. I always heard owl calls in the morning near my house but I never know how far they are or where to look. Now I want to go out and try to find them myself.
Stunning bird and lovely images in the best conditions anyone could have wished for.. congratulations Stefano..! Well worth the effort you made..! best wishes.. g
I've only seen one and it was always pretty high up in a tree but it was there every day for about a month. If someone didn't point it out to me I never would've noticed it they blend in so well.
I just an stunned by how good you are at taking pictures of these beautiful birds, absolutely amazing, in your next video i think you should try to find a Evening Grosbeak they are very beautiful, anyways keep up the great work!
Gorgeous bird and great shots. I’m pretty obsessed with Owls, and have only ever seen two in my life. One was indeed the Saw-Whet, which happened to fly on a tree in front of my house last winter. I live in the suburbs so it was really unexpected, but there are forests nearby so it may have just been going around. I got photos with my phone on me at the time, and since then I’ve been trying my hardest to go out and see more owls. Around where I live in southern Ontario there are a lot of good nature areas and whatnot, and just a couple days ago I was out walking with my more reliable camera and a barred owl flew literally right in front of me. I got some good photos but was seriously shaking and speechless that this was happening. Then he hunted a squirrel, but missed on his dive. Overall, couldn’t believe what I was seeing. Now I’m hooked and really want to see more, whether it be those two species again or something like the GHO, Snowy Owl, etc
Great find and great video! I totally understand the part about getting distracted by birds. I do that all the time and my birding journal says "Easily Distracted by Birds" on the front.
It makes me smile when you are vlogging and you get distracted "oh, there is a ....". Great find. Awesome images. They are such beautiful birds. On my wish list as well. Also would really like to see Snow Buntings.
Speechless. Fantastic result. What a great video, again! Thank you so much for the inspiring videos. Love the music with the owl. O come let us adore. Keep up the good work it makes me want to go out even more to admire creation!
you are so hilarious getting so distracted by the birds. that is funny . I would be the same way. Going to build myself a pond. Enjoy young man life goes by so quick.
Just sometimes it all comes together Stefano, that what makes me keep getting out there and I'm sure you feel the same. The bonus shots of the other birds just add to the experience - great video. 👍
Ive been trying so hard to find owls. They are here but after weeks of looking, I've kind of given up. This video was so great & made me feel better. Doing this challenge seems like a lot of fun might have to try!!
@@StefanoIaniro I was watching your video today and got lucky with owls myself... shot a few shots and few clips...hope to have time to post short video...Happy birding 🤗

What a beautiful owl and the pink foot of the rodent is pristine.
They are stunning, I'm sure it enjoyed its snack!
You should always stop for robins! Whenever I am out on the field there is always a beautiful robin to save the day!
This series could be amazing you should definitely continue it! If the Stellar’s sea eagle comes up to your area will you make a video about it?
Thank you! If it comes up again I can definitely try to! I’m not on social media much so by the time I heard about it in Quebec, it was already gone. Fingers crossed it shows up again and is still healthy!

Thanks! And glad I'm not alone with the distractions! 😅
