- A surprisingly accurate, cheap and user-friendly Chinese solder-iron thermometer. Also resold by HAKKO :-)

Very useful if you have a solder-station/solder-iron of unknown quality to check the true temperature at the solder-tip.
For the FG-100 there are also temperature-probes for solder-pots and for hot-air stations available.
Furthermore a teardown of the FG-100 & comparison with the ELV LTT1 and a normal thermocouple thermometer.

Thank you for the review
Hakkos instructions are to solder the tip before measurement tho

Which kind of makes sense to get a good thermal connection to the thermocouple
Hi Roger, thanks for your videos. How do you think they do the cold junction compensation in the FG-100? Is it possible that the specialized MCU includes an ambiant temperature sensor? Or maybe they assume a constant T° in software?
They certainly did not assume a constant ambient temperature in the FG-100 becaue one can see the displayed temperature accurately displays room temperature (without a solder tip touchung the sensor)
They probably use a thermistor somewhere on the PCB (or the temperature sensor inside the microcontroller).
thank you for your reply!
Hello, nice Video, is it possible to combine these Sensors with the DT012C Digital Thermometer?
To what end?
Hi Roger. I have no FG-100 but a DT012C. Give these Sensors correct readings with the DT012C?
