The Ultimate Guide to Custom Minifigures: How to Make a Sigfig

- Опубліковано 27 гру 2024
- I made the most advanced custom minifigure I could ever think of, using almost all the techniques for how to customize a minifigure. Consider this video your guide to how to make custom LEGO minifigures.
I go over how to paint minifigures, how to find the best pieces for customs, and even how to use the new LEGO Minifigure Factory, all for building my very own sigfig.

You see, Ryan, I've always wanted to make my own custom LEGO minifigs, but I never knew what options were available. I even made my own yellow Daredevil with pieces that I have collected.
What pieces did you use for that daredevil? Just out of interest.
@@spacetimecontinuum6546 I used the torso piece of the Netflix Daredevil that my uncle gave me from MegaCon a few years ago, and I used two golden arms from Aquaman and replaced the tan-colored hands with Iron Man's red hands, and as for the legs, I used an atlantean legs that came with the Justice League set, and finally for the head, I used the head of the Reverse Flash. It may not look exactly like Daredevil's yellow sit, but I can only use my imagination.
@@austinclark964 That's what lego is all about!
When I visited the LEGO offline store, I saw them using a printer to print various different minifigures. It was only later that I learned that it was a UV printer. Would you like me to look into it
Ryan is clutch. I’m in the works on doing customs figures and the fact you uploaded this today is great timing.
Haha great timing! Hope you found the video helpful!
So theoretically If I were to paint the entire mini figure I was custom making what would the best brand of acrylic paint would you recommend?
This was great!
Personally I favor purist customs but you inspired me to make a custom torso! I’ve made it and it looks great!
Awesome!! Glad you enjoyed the process!
@@RyanSevelVlogs the tip with the nail polish really helped thanks
Pretty interesting Sigfit.
@@RyanSevelVlogs does the custom Lego cost money.
I tend to like to stick with purist minifigure parts so I use yellow skin tones for most of my custome minifigures since they have the most variety of faces but I do like to use flesh tones sometimes aswell as I like to have my city be diverse in figures with a variety of different skin tones and the way I see it is that bright Lego yellow is just another skin tone in the Lego world
Honestly I've seen your custom minifig videos and some of them look amazing!
I'm a brown guy so finding a piece that has my skin color is an added challenge but i am still looking forward to doing this
Very interesting,I might keep this in mind when making my own sigfig of myself like you did. Though I have a feeling you
could do this with minidolls as well, though the process of cusomizing them
probably will be slightly different because the minidoll figure is designed way differently than a minifigure's
Hi Ryan,
You didn’t need to remove the left legs printing! All you needed to do was find another light greyish-blue/sand blue left leg, then you would just have to swap it out! Also, it’s not very usual for it to crack, but you just need to be careful.
Very true! I guess I wanted to show off how to remove extra print if you needed to. But yeah, replacement parts are always an option!
@@RyanSevelVlogs In my opinion you should have used a simple eraser - more effort but way safer for lego bricks.
Give this man a million subs he deserves it 😀
I think that you should get a custom printed brick (logo) to display alongside your sig fig. Maybe a blue one and a black one should do!
Intersting...
I have glasses and the Justin Hammer head works well cause he’s not a very well known character and only if you know him it’ll be mistaken
Nice choice! The head was also used for Leonard in the Big Bang Theory set but it’s still not very well known (or used)
Ryan is an inspiration, keep it up man
Thanks for the kind words!
Ryan, im on a trip to Spain and they have a Lego store! In my country they don’t have one, and congrats on 20K
Hello, I loved your vid, unfortunately in my country there are only a few Lego official stores and I've never seen the Lego factory there 😔. I will try to make water slide decals then. Thanks for sharing your ideas ❤.
I have a sigfig and he look pretty cool
Congrats on 21k subs Ryan!
the coolest sigfig i ever seen
Will definitely be using these tips- I'm making some custom Breaking Bad figures to go along with the MOC I built.
what did you build?
@@mosqit4324 the RV and a little Los Pollos Hermanos scene
@@kronk1629 cool
This is quite a bit harder for me, as my SigFig is of my fursona, LOL. It's a LITTLE harder to find things that work. Glad for the guide tho!
Going to try to make one of my profile!
Can you use these techniques with anthropomorphic animal figs? Like Chima figs?
Sure! I haven't tried my hand at painting more uniquely-shaped LEGO pieces, but I don't see why one couldn't!
I was thinking the same thing.
US is so lucky to get minifig factory, here in Australia, we have no such thing. I didn’t even know about this until I found your video..
If I was able to have a minifig factory I would go all out on Camp Cretaceous figs as that’s my favourite Netflix show. Still, SO LUCKY 😭
This was so helpful thanks 👍🏼
Ryan I have I tip for you
Instead of useing the nail polish remover to take of the printing on Lego just use a regular school eraser and rub it a lot and the printing come right off
I once destroyed a brick with nail polish, so it hurted when he used it in the video
thanks for the guide, Richard Hammond from Top Gear and The Grand Tour on BBC
Why didn’t you switch a leg instead of removing the pocket?
I wanted to show how to remove a print, but yes, that's an option too if you have spare legs!
Great video Ryan keep it up
Do you know how I would make a print that has a metallic shine like some of the classic lego castle prints?
What program did you use when you did the 3D torso?
What I actually got it right in your community post I said it was you
Loving the new profile picture. Lego Ryan!!!
Glue and label paper will do 😅
Can you customize it in any way? For example as dismissed old minifugres by taking the project online?
Looks very good!
How I do if I want a new itens or armors in a new minifigure?
THIS IS SICK DUDE
Congrats on 21k
Could you make a Mario minifig
Hmmm interesting proposition. I think there are some great Mario customs on AliExpress…
I wish to have a custom Lego Minifigure of myself.
does the lego store use uv printer?
This figure really is the culmination of lego itself
THIS IS SO COOL
Heck yeah, get your own minifg
So say I want to add wounds to a temple of doom indy face. Would I just paint those one?
If you want to stay in the realm of official LEGO, then yes, I'd say paint on the wounds. If you don't mind dipping into off-brand parts, there are a few "damaged" prints you could choose from.
firestar toys is great! you can get some good figures that are retired from there
i want to make a custom minifig of my favorite wrestler Hayabusa, and his alter ego, Darkside Hayabusa.
Know any tips for someone as intricate as him?
Check out www.myblockfigures.com as you can upload images to the site to make custom parts
@@RyanSevelVlogs can u make a tutorial
Where did you get that hoodie?! I love the way that looks! Btw Love this video!
The real hoodie? I bought it from Levi's when it came out. I don't think it's still available so ebay might be your best bet haha
@@RyanSevelVlogs its twice the price now lol
What is the name of the 3d Lego app
I head direct to the Build a Minifigure online service but is close so I think that LEGO is making it better. 😅
F for me :,)
Ryan, do you know of any other methods to get custom prints?
You could also try using water decals. They're a bit trickier for sure and require a high quality printer, but it's an option for more complicated designs.
So cool!!!
I Desine figures that get produced in China, I do wish I had my own printing, the companys don't produce all of my desines or take years sometimes to do them, I usually Just make decals for the ones that don't get produced & just make them in-house myself.
This is amazing thanks!!!
i find that to remove printing from minifigures an eraser does the cleanest job
I’ve heard that before but I didn’t have the right kind of eraser! Good call though
What LEGO store is it?
That's cool
Hi Ryan! Question- Do you live in the U.S.? If so, where are you based? Trying to locate which lego stores in the U.S. do the minifigure factory 😭
I’m in the US! If you look on LEGO’s website, they have a list of all of their minifigure factory locations!
This video was awesome!!! but i already have a sigfig😂👍 and it's on my pfp congratulations on 21k btw🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳
Oh nice sigfig!! And thank you!!
Very helpfull
by anychance can u do the drawing on procreate
You could probably use Procreate… I just don’t have any experience with that application.
@@RyanSevelVlogs👍
Cool!:D
Why is he staring into my soul like that?"
fuck, I just got the notification...
Also, you got to 22k so quickly!
Rex danger vest has a blue and yellow arm
I think Rex has yellow arms with a dark blue printed cuff. It’s closer for sure, but not exactly what I needed for my sigfig
I remember asking him if he does this
You guys got pranked he actually didn't remake me as a lego minifigure
Cool
Thx now I made a character that has a god blade somehow called wither bane and can defeat god
One question I paid $20 for Drax is that over paid
Not really. $20 for Drax is a rather good price.
I love this but Andor looks just like you
is it uv printed?
The torso I’m not sure but considering the printer was at a LEGO store it could be PAD.
@@RyanSevelVlogs when u showed the part where they printing their torso it seemed likek uv print
Use andor’s
The head from Star Wars cassian andor would fit you although his beard is brown (edit) not the newer one the older 2016 one
Interesting choice!! I don't think I have the dashing looks of Diego Luna though...
@@RyanSevelVlogs hah lol
I am no youtuber or anything, but I think you could possibly add some emotion to the intro?
Hi ryan
Niceeee

Hi
Hold up if he from USA why did it say £?

THE POLEESH REMOVER OF NAI-EEL
Thanks for using my jeans 😉 😉
Bro why the video tutorial is soo quick. This should be steo by step, when I slow down the video I still dont know what is going on...
21k on to 210 thousand then 2.1 million
Actually I was hoping you'd show how to make your own custom printing, but you've outsourced that part :/ Rest of the video is nothing I couldn't figure out alone.
Yeah, I HEAVILY disagree with your hairpiece. In fact, I have never seen ANYBODY who has that hairstyle in real life. It just looks so bad, too. The hair you should use it the one at 6:37
I made my self
Dude.. I think you have very dark brown hair not black
Hitler customize lets go
Yes (edit) no
You should sell this lol
Sadly, the rules for purist seem to be:
Part 1: be white
Part 2: don't have facial hair
