- What's the meaning of unilateral assets? what are the accounting entries included? I explain this with a demo on SAP S4Hana 2021
Sometimes there are differences between the accounting principles which require that an asset is treated as a fixed asset according to one accounting principle but treated as an expense according to another. This scenario is called Unilateral Assets.
The demo covers the below steps and accounting entries:
✴️ Unilateral Asset creation (AS01)
✴️ Unilateral Asset acquisition (F-90)
✴️ Unilateral Asset depreciation (AFAB)
✴️ Unilateral Asset retirement (ABAVN)

Amazing! This helped me a lot!
Glad it helped!
Hi, could you explain how the expense account got automatically posted to even though you have deactivated the IFRS accnting principles? i.e. what is telling SAP to post to the expense account even though you did not manually choose it?
In the AO90 you have to configure the [Account for capitalization differences/nonoperating expense] under Balance Sheet Accounts section.
Hi Abdullah. What about Unilateral Assets but when we do the acquisition via Investment Order or WBS? How does it work?
nice ... does it configure in AO90 and put expense account on the acquisition field ? ... looking for intracompany transfer too and also the tax issue matter regarding this transfer ... 😀
Hi David, no in AO90 under account assignment for cost portion not capitalized
Intracompany already recorded and being edited. what tax issues in intracompany? do you mean in intercompany?
@@AbdullahGalal Tax issue regarding of transfer asset between company .. and it is VAT because it is a transaction cross company with the goods movement, usually there is VAT on that transfer ... or perhaps in your implementation this transfer asset can be exclude from VAT ?
Thanks for the explainatiin. I have o e question. Let's say we have a big machinery already in place, and now we do a big upgrade to it through PS using wbs. This upgrade is capitalize in one accounting principal but expense in other. So if I use the concept of unilateral asset posting then it will post the total amount from my wbs to an single expense account which is there in AO90 but we want to post that amount back to the expense accounts from where it got originated. Eg if we spend 10000$ on upgrade and my wbs says that 5000 as installation ac and 5000 as external service ac. The amount should stay in these accounts only and should not go to the single expense ac which is there in AO90 for AUC and main asset. Sorry if I am not able to explain it well🎉
I would say that when you settle the WBS itself you need to settle to fixed Asset for the capitalization principal, but for the other one you settle to a cost center. This is just a quick thought, look into it and let me know if it makes sense :)
Abdullah. Excellent work. Do you have videos for budgeting.
Thanks

Thanks Abdullah. How did the system automatically determine the Unilateral expense account for ledger 2L mapped to IFRS? Did you configure on Tcode AO90?
Welcome :)
Yes in AO90 under account assignment for cost portion not capitalized
Thank you, When a project or work order is settled to asset is it possible to send back the amount to original expense accounts (determined in the settlement rules of the sender object) instead of a single AO90 account?
I don't understand the business case, can you explain more

How the expense GL is determined? Can u share the settings too?
In the AO90 you have to configure the [Account for capitalization differences/nonoperating expense] under Balance Sheet Accounts section.
Hi Abdullah.. thanks for sharing this process. Can you do a video on fixed assets with bonus depreciation for tax purpose using the tax depreciation areas in the US CoD? Say for example, normal depreciation for areas 01, 31, 32, 33 but 50% depreciation in the acquisition year for tax purposes. Thanks
Hi Abdullah, can you also create content for the second solution as well. Also I tried to sell assets through F-92 and the system is calculating taxes as well but my question here is with F-92 can I generate a sales invoice?
Is that a comment on the fixed asset sales with sales order?
@@AbdullahGalal Yes about second scenario. Also can we generate sales invoices through F-92 transaction
@@AbdullahGalal Yes about second scenario. Also can we generate sales invoices through F-92 transaction
You can always generate correspondence for any financial transaction ...you create the form you want in WRICEF and you do correspondence for the transaction
THis video is for Unilateral Assets Gourav ..not the asset sale :D
Can you explain the process for Asset revaluation
Will do my best
Hello Sir,Can you let us know the Back end Config
Hi Rithesh, I've added the steps to the elite members' configuration manual
We assign the account in AO90 under account assignment for the cost portion not capitalized
