  • The Clifton Police Department recently took to its Facebook page to warn residents about bogus social media posts saying they need help looking for someone who is missing.
City of Clifton Chief of Police Chris Blanton noted multiple posts on Facebook that claim they are looking for missing people.
“People in town were sharing these things and they had a hashtag Clifton or Clifton, Texas and that’s, obviously, what brought our attention to it, and the more we got to looking, it was obvious that these weren’t real profiles,” Blanton recalled.
Blanton warned residents to not click on or share these posts, since scammers are looking for a way to get interactions with their account.

Start hiring real people to monitor social media. Don’t fkn say it’s impossible. Tell me how impossible it is that millions of people need jobs. Shut up and give those people the job. Fix social media, keep kids off it, stop the scams.
