Looks like a good day at Rancho Retrorestore.
RD200 is a proper wheelie machine (wasn't me, honestly officer :) ). I had the one before that model. Ridiculously over powerful twin leading shoe drum brake on the front. It came fitted with a steering damper ( you really need it ). It has electric start, but if you set up the timing and carbs correctly you can start it by hand using the kickstarter. Just grab the kickstarter with your hand, give it a flick, and it should fire up. If it doesn't start by hand it probably isn't tuned correctly.
Anyhoo back to welding my MK7 Transit rust bucket.

Hello Martin , not watched for a while because I'm mainly a Retrorestore viewer.... just to say I also have a swiss import RD125 exactly like your Red speedblock version but in blue , Look forward to seeing that restored. I converted my speedo to an MPH one ( whole unit though) I also changed the indicators to UK spec and headlamp rim.. Good Luck mate Regards Mike

Great video mart ,great to see the old 2strokes back.i think they call them dynostarters when they send currant to a dynamo to spin it and it also works in reverse sending current to the battery when running.what happened to the big bikes you had ? You had about 3 under covers on the patio ?

I learnt to ride on a RD 200 or 250 when I was at school on a track my m8 had one brilliant. Just watched Gary cleaning the poly tunnel out, those brambles had really taken over. Cheers for the shout out , that mower did me proud for years, it’s a bit like me not very pretty but reliable 😆😂great vid as always 👍

Need a tap for my mower as everytime i go to use it, it's empty.... not leaking. Have you seen this before?
Its normally the seating under the float that may have a bit of crap under the seat.
@retrorestore did take it to bits as it used to leak, leak fixed but petrol disappears from tank over a few days. Will have a look again and check float for crap. Thanks for the reply Martin 👍
