Menopause has been the worst and most debilitating experience of my life. I've experienced extreme burnout, brainfog, memory loss, anxiety, and horrendous sensory overload, as well as all the physiological symptoms. I thought i had early onset dementia. I ended up having a diagnosis of adhd and asd. I thought my life was over. I've delved deeply into brain health and wellbeing, and Im SO grateful for all the recent research. I meditate, lift heavy, do yoga and pilates 5 times a week, journal, get early morning sun light, eat whole foods ( including meat and lots of healthy fat) practice balancing, use the sauna to help my brain thermoregulate and manage hot flushes. I suppliment with magnesium l-threonate and glyconate, omega 3s, D3, B vitamins, creatine etc. My focus is wellbeing, ive lost 20lb, built lean muscle and feel and look 20 years younger. I have a new life. Have hope, ladies❤
No one warned me about this. It has been a real challenge. I am trying to exercise more and rest. But the brain fog and memory issues have been debilitating. Small dose of HRT (in my 40s) has helped
I am a detrans woman. I was thrown into medically induced menopause after I started detransition due to having a hysterectomy and oopherectomy. It's been absolutely debilitating. I went into hormonal psychosis and my nonseizure convulsions came back for a while that prevented me from staying asleep. I was very lucky those went away but the insanity I've been barely surviving is crushing me. I'm going through intense grieving, shock and panic over what I did to my body. Horror over never being able to have a baby. Recently going through periods of intense fear multiple times a day. I will have to be on estrogen the rest of my life and it hasn't yet improved all my symptoms, I still get hot flashes.
I'm 57 I had full hystorectomy 3 yrs ago. All I even knew about menopause was hot flashes. I have everything she's mentioned except panic attacks. Worst time of my life. No one discussed any of this with me or anything about HRT.
Don't worry, but be prepared. The hardest part for me was that no one talked about it, except when joking, of course. If someone had just said hey, you've just turned 50, start cutting your calories by a 4th because in 12 to 18 months, (without doing anything different) you are going to start gaining a couple of pounds a week! Within 2 months, you will have a belly on you, and you will wonder what happened! Also, go see a bio-identical hormone doctor if you are in your 40s. The above will never happen if you do. Wishing you the best.
hi 56 here 😂naturally for me 😂had hrt came of it made me come back on 👍so sod that 🎉the best is no periods forever 🎉🎉🎉🎉and all i have is being greedy and a bit sleepy 😴 all will be ok 🎉🎉🎉
I don't know what is worse out of these symptoms. But the crawlimg sensations I had were of next level. I thought I was going mad and thought that I waa going to die. I had the scariest rashes and all sorts of weird pigmentation on my skin, especially face. No one had the answers and there was nothing on google then. My animals rescued me because I felt responsible for them and had to be mentally strong for them.
Thank you! I went through surgical menopause at 32, and my doctor has wanted to keep me on a low dose systemic Estradiol, and it makes my heart feel horrible, but she wants to keep me for bone density... So I have been feeling awful with hot flashes and brain fog and insomnia and a little anxiety because I don't take it daily, it feels like menopause all over again, even though it's been ten years now.
Thank you so much for sharing all your information, means so much. Truly I had a hysterectomy from surgery and my brain has not been the same since. My thyroid, hormones has been so messed up.
Some of those symptoms like hot flashes can be caused by thyroid issues like hashimoto as well... when women get into menopause, their body might develop some other issues as well and not all symptoms should be attributed to menopause
The How do know if it's your thyroid or menopause as doctor may have do different testing and specialists and the way they work it might be too much to ask for some of them. 😢
@@elena2125 thyroid hormones can easily be tested via bloodtest. and if you show symptoms of hashimotos your doctor should test those... the symptoms of menopause do overlap with those of hashimotos for example the hot flashes or feeling very tired and exhausted, fatigued and a few more... Menopause is a huge transition time for a female body so its important to tune into what we need. Eat the right things in the right amount, exersice regularely especially cardio, but also weight training can help, getting enough rest, and true rest time during the day - without screens! A lot of hormonal issues can be balanced through that... Whats also important would be organic food, since nonorganic food has alot of toxins from the fertilisers, the pesticides, funghicides and herbicides that can interfere with hormone production. after adjusting these things in our daily lives, we can look again: do we feel healthy with menopausal symptoms, or is our body showing more extreme symptoms than should be normal - then going to the doc and having a bloodtest would be the best idea
Actually I question whether thyroid problems are a menopause symptom. It seems strange that a lot of women who are going through the menopause find they have thyroid problems.
Menopause is actually fabulous. As a longtime vegetarian, I had no hot flushes, brain fog or other symptoms associated with the mucked up hormonal systems of meat eaters. Then no more periods. OMG that is SO good. Libido dwindles, but that's normal. So you grow into this independent, powerful woman who stops caring what people think about her. You can just be yourself, without needing to reference yourself to others, even in a relationship. It is 100% something to look forward to. Just don't muck up your body with the hormones in meat before you get there or you'll have a rougher ride through (which they will try to medicate, don't let them).
I totally agree with what you've said. Whole food plant based here, and I have none of those symptoms either, at all! My period just stopped, and that is al that happened.😊
@@NeptuneRising888 I've been vegetarian for over 40 years, only eat eggs in cake and a bit of cheese if I'm eating out, milk in coffee. I'm careful to not have too much dairy as I think it depletes other vitamins/minerals. I have blood tests every 2 years to keep track, and my iron is always fine, as are all other markers. I do like leafy greens (not kale!) So I'll have a big salad every other day, and if I remember I'll put a teaspoon of molasses in my morning fruit smoothie. That's full of iron, but I've never really had to focus on it and I've got lots of energy for my age. There's a lot of conflicting dietary advice out there but at the end of the day it was a conscience decision for me. I didn't want to get to heaven and be confronted by hundreds of cows, pigs, chickens, sheep and fish that I'd been responsible for killing. 🙂 So I just stopped. It was my decision and I knew I would face any consequences for it, but the only difference I've seen in my health has been positive. People regularly think I'm much younger than I am, my skin is great and I'm happy and peaceful. That's all the validation I need.
Women who are stating they have been diagnosed with ADHD, why aren't you questioning this diagnosis when you are also going through menopause? Surely in most cases women are being misdiagnosed.
I started having olfactory hallucinations. I'm smelling things that aren't there. All of the disinfectant spray and deodorizers in the world are not going to help...😂
But it doesn’t feel that bad as it sounds. I get it on my back sometimes….its sorta momentarily & doesn’t last long. Being aware & staying active helps. Btw, I’m 48 and these are new experiences. I’m training myself to stay positive ❤️
The doctor said in another UA-cam video that she and another researcher are looking into a new type of estrogen that focuses only on the brain for those that need neurological symptom relief. I look forward to hearing more about it. I think it's still being developed, and I don't know when it'll be available.
