      Jesus gives lots of instruction that is intended for the sleeping masses. It is like the ten commandments, only the first one or two are needed but since so many people struggle with understanding them, the others are also given. Penitence is an antidote to the affects of ego residing in the individual, and forgiveness of oneself adds another layer of mitigation of the ego. But ultimately the ego doesn't exist and these are all games played by the ego. Consider that in the serene state Adam and Eve did not even know they were naked; they totally lacked any self-reflection upon which to recognize their nudity. Shame for being naked is coupled to the self-consciousness they acquired from the fall and the comparative nature of ego. Likewise regret or shame for sin depends on being self-conscious and comparing oneself to an ideal state.

      @@Droid2030 Jesus expressed emotion multiple times in the Bible. Jesse was saying that when we attain perfection we will be emotionless. That is not true. Here are some examples of Jesus expressing emotion in the Bible.
      "1. Compassion: Jesus saw the crowds and had compassion on them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd (Matthew 9:36).
      2. Anger: Jesus entered the temple courts and drove out all who were buying and selling there. He overturned the tables of the money changers and the benches of those selling doves (Matthew 21:12).
      3. Sadness: Jesus was deeply moved in his spirit and greatly troubled. He said, “Where have you laid him?” They said, “Lord, come and see.” Jesus wept (John 11:33-35).
      4. Love: Jesus looked at him and loved him. “One thing you lack,” he said. “Go, sell everything you have and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me” (Mark 10:21).
      5. Sorrow: Jesus began to be sorrowful and troubled. He said to Peter and the two sons of Zebedee, “My soul is crushed with grief to the point of death. Stay here and keep watch with me” (Matthew 26:37-38)."

      Basically, there is no you. You’re a vessel. The body is either manipulated by the devil (ego/false self) or you “be still and know God” which means You get the ego out of the way and let God work through you.

      No such thing as Free Will - he is just into the Truth

    • @Rybot9000
      @Rybot9000 Місяць тому

      According to some it is. However, others like Martin Luther (On The Bondage of the Will), Meister Eckhart and John Calvin expressed that free-will must be false and pointed to scripture (Romans 9) "Therefor it is not of him that wills or him that runs but of God that shows mercy"
      In this book (Romans 9) St. Paul explicates at length on the subject and relates how God hardened Pharoah's heart so that he would not release the Israelites. And how God loved Jacob and hated Esau even before they were born. He interprets sayings like "The elder shall teach the younger" as implicating causality (God's Will) in the forming of personality and decision-making.
      We can understand free-will in the metaphysical sense as setting up a first-cause over and above God's Will. Creating two causative agents / first causes, God and the Ego. This pluralism of will is akin to a form of polytheism, believing both in the power of God and the power of Ego.
