Since Poland was partitioned between three empires, you'd have to check where a certain player was born, to assign him to a proper imperial national team. Born in Warsaw? Imperial Russia. Born in Kraków? Austro-Hungarian Empire. Born in Poznań? German Empire.

It honestly baffles me that I am indeed not the only person in the world who is interested in a combination of history, geography and football to come up with ridiculous potential teams. As a Mongolian who watches this channel quite frequently, and might I add that I might be the only Mongolian who watches this channel, I would put the Mongol Empire as THE LARGEST empire the world has ever known strictly in terms of landmass, spanning from Eastern Europe All the way to the South China Sea, roughly covering about half of the earth's landmass in its peak, in contrast to 1/4 which was owned by the British Empire. Ghengiss Khaan (or Chingis Khaan, as we Mongolians call him) and his descendants ruled about 1/2 of the landmass of the world which clearly puts them at the No.1 spot in terms of landmass. as a Russian I recall Krychowiak from couple years ago when he used to play for Lokomotiv & Krasnodar I think. And even back then he was already quite lame. Typically you dont go play to the Russian clubs especially the second tier clubs unless you are past your prime.

There is a problem with the russian empire team and the polish guys there because only szczesny and Lewandowski whom were born in Warsaw could play in the team. The other guys were born in Tychy (Milik, Kiwior), Ząbkowice Śląskie (Zieliński), Poznań (Bednarek) and Gryfice (Krychowiak) which were have never been the part of Russian empire - Poland was divided between Russia, Germany and Austria in the late 18th century and all of the guys would play for the German Empire
