I know this is old but I bought my printer second hand about the same time you did. Love it but it is a little slow. I upgraded my setup to use Klipper on an old laptop, installed KlipperScreen on an old Android, and installed a BL Touch and did some input shaping. That and some fine tuning in Orca Slicer and this thing flies. I have reliability cut my times down to less than half and the quality is insane. Plus, Klipper has unlimited features and KlipperScreen makes the stock screen look like a toy.
I'm so glad you'd started to do these reviews. I was hesitant to get a 3D printer for the longest time until this came across on your other channel. Since then, I've gotten myself a Elegoo Neptune 3 Pro (had the original N3 first but it shorted out) and have LOVED it. Enough so that I started my own channel just so I could share my time lapses with friends and anyone else that wants I guess. If you've not looked too deeply into the settings of Cura (assuming that's what you're using) there is a setting to increase the speed of the print. Mine started out at 40mm/s which made even the most basic print take 10+ hours. The N3P can print up to 160mm/s if memory serves so I'd look into that. For the prints not sticking, hairspray & glue work ok (it gunks up the bed though like you said) so I found putting it in an enclosure and raising the bed temp helped mine. All in, thanks for making this video! Painting the stuff I print has given me something to do when it's too cold for shop time :)
My granddaughter love painting thing. They also love all those puzzle boxes I've printed. Of course I have to put money in them before I give them to them lol
Thanks ordered this printer on sale, review helped a lot. people don't seem to have too many issues that can't be solved with this so i'm looking forward to it.
I just got this recently only issue im having is updating the firmware so i can use bl touch. What ithink is the issue is the screens firmware needs to be updated first before i can update the printers firmware first. Only issue i cant find the firmware for the screen itself. Cause when i try to update firmware by following the directions curs just gives me communication failure when it trys to update. I can interact with the printer via cura.
Be advised that if you have purchase and receive a defective unit Longer has no customer support. I called and emailed after purchasing one of their units do to it having issues and not feeding any filament and PLA, TPU, PTGE and they will not respond. Furthermore they blocked my number from calling them as now it goes directly to voicemail but when I restrict my caller ID the phone rings before being directed to voicemail. I would avoid this company all together and picking an alternative option..
I just bought the LK5 pro with the upgraded board, & blower, super quiet .. and I got it on sale from NEWEGG 179.00 refurbished shipped right from LONGER... but beware.. they used UPS and UPS SUKS ASS.. the box was beat to shit... I truly hate UPS... in the past in one month they destroyed 3 of 4 packages so bad they had to be sent back... and one they tried to even stick it in another box and ship it to me... well lucky I knew who sent it and it was NOT in the original box he shipped it in.. they never offered any support or to make it right.. FUK UPS..!!!
Holly cow. They are pretty decent here. The drive always calls when they are making a delivery. The best is the DHL guy. Sorry you have so much trouble with them. That sucks.
Hey! GREAT Video! Your video was great to watch and see what I'm going to be getting into. So the BIGGEST question is: how does a guy with only 373 subscribers have Longer contact them!?!? I want to start doing videos again just so I can get free stuff!!! I would have LOVED to have gotten this for free! Way to go! AND it's been 7 months now. Are you still using the machine? and is it still doing everything you've wanted it to do? I'm just not sure if it's worth the expense or not for my shop.
Hey sorry, I just saw this. This is a second channel I started. My other channel has 74k and is Called Moonpie Creations. The reviews on that channel are a little different. I use the LK5 a lot. It still is working well. I have also added the Artillery to the rotation.
@@mpcreviews Hey! Thanks for the reply! I actually ended up getting a Longer LK5 Pro based on your video! And have used it a few times while installing and checking for level. I LOVE IT!!! I have had a few issues with it as time has gone on. So far I have been able to stumble across making it work again for me. The most reoccurring one is bed adhesion. I'm hoping it's a learning curve and not a bed failure issue. I guess time will tell 🙂
@@mpcreviews Thanks!!! I've been using white glue sticks from Costco. (And I can clean the whole plate off, after build up with Windex. It does a GREAT job of cleaning the plate!) They work well. I was having problems with adhesion at the center of the bed a little while ago. So I just started moving my builds to the front of the plate and that seemed to work. I just recently had some big builds that went into the middle and I had good adhesion. So I will keep going.
I love my longer LK5 pro set up was quick and I didn't even need to level the bed because it was spot on
That is a good endorsement. It's my favorite machine.

That is fantastic. I love this machine. It's the only one I kept.

This is by far the best 3D printer I own.
Awesome. I use mine all the time.
This was a great video. I have one and an ANET A8..... and I would recommend the Longer LK5 Pro 10/ 10 times
Thank you
try turning up the heat on the print bed since it is so large before adding chemicals to it may impact it releasing prints after it cools.
Thanks for the suggestion.

Thanks for the info. I have not tried to update the firmware. Have you tried to contact Longer support?
what does the honeycomb print do in pen turning?
You can fill it with resin and turn it.

I hate to hear when companies provide bad customer service. Sorry to hear about that. I hope they step up and help you out.
You're a cool dude.
My kids would disagree. But thanks.

Buy the purple glue sticks. They work great to help with adhesion. amzn.to/4ay28rm

What product did you use
Not sure what you mean by this.
thiiiiss... is a bad printer, not compatible with Cura at all.
I use this printer all the time. It works well with Cura. That is the program I use for it. Maybe you have a setting wrong?
