This was a great story and made me think of my own son and his Disney experience. He also has autism and there was a moment he became overwhelmed and I was overwhelmed, then an employee walked over and asked to help him exercise. It really made the day magical that they stopped and helped.

Kevin saw you in Columbus last July. Please post the second half of the story, the return trip after your son's graduation. A true butterfly effect moment. Today I choose not to be ordinary. Thank you.

I had the pleasure off seeing Kevin in October 2019. This part of the speech cut through my tough guy exterior and touched my heart! Kevin is an incredible speaker!

Does anybody know where to find the second part of the video where Kevin talks about the Chick-fil-A drive through and "My Pleasure"?

Feeling so sorry for the server whose only sin was not being overly friendly to this man, but who provided him and his family with the meals they requested and needed. Imagine if this story even hinted at some compassion for a service worker whose situation we can never know. I've been thinking about this story for three years- but not in a positive way.

Thank you for the note. You are absolutely right. We don’t know what we don’t know. The fact that I was unhappy with our server’s less than pleasant demeanor did not cause a reciprocal response. She was treated with kindness and respect by our family. She was addressed with “please and thank you” throughout our meal. And, she received a nice gratuity for her trouble. The point of the story is that when you CHOOSE to work in hospitality at the happiest place on earth, there is an expectation of a world-class experience by the guests paying a small fortune to be there. Everybody is dealing with something and we all have bad days. Thankfully, we always have a choice when we show up and do what we do. I have never heard anyone say that their problems got worse because they were being nice to others. Chances are that our chef(Aunt Bea), was dealing with “stuff” in her life too. But we would have never known it because she was focused on creating an experience we would never forget.
